I had high hopes for this mic stand given how much it cost. Unfortunately, it didn’t perform nearly as well as I’d hoped. To be fair I was using it for a rather large condenser mic but even then I feel like this stand was no better than a much much cheaper one.
My main issues were the actual boom pole would bend and sag when extended. The entire boom could not be tightened enough to keep it from falling down. I had a heck of a time trying to untighten the clamp afterwards and the handle itself to tighten the clamp is actually pretty nice looking so I was worried about damaging it. And annoying enough the rings on the threaded end of the stand where the mic screws onto are stuck in place and if I try to turn them I end up just unscrewing that entire threaded piece so I’m just left with a useless stick of a mic stand. On top of all that I feel like the feet for this stand are a bit bulky and more of a gimmick. They don’t seem to provide anymore stability than a regular mic stand would. And the little twisty thing at the back end of the boom is also pretty gimmicky to me because this stand is not tall enough for making micro adjustments to the mic to even be a problem in the first place.
I’m not trying to be a hater. I’m going to keep buying gator products because over and over they prove themselves to be solid and reliable. And like I said, to be fair I was trying to put a fairly hefty mic on this stand but I can’t really imagine paying for a premium stand and only being able to use smaller or cheaper mics. In a studio setting I would always recommend going with one of those much much larger heavy duty cranes of a mic stand when using big expensive mics but if you’re at home looking for a good stand to hold your nice mics that won’t take up half of the room, I’m not sure this is the product you’re looking for.

Gator Frameworks has achieved portability and stability with the new ID stands. It’s construction is strong and easy to operate. The latches on the boom arm make it easy and quickly to set the arm in place.
Easy and fast to set up and break down. It’s a bit heavier the your normal tripod stand but stable and worth the value.
I will be replacing all of my tripod my stands with it.
I highly recommend it.

Horrible Quality Control

I have four (now five) of these stands and they have been excellent, functionally. However, I have had to make repairs or adjustments to each of them BEFORE I could put them into service.
This purchase was no exception. The threaded fitting for the microphone clip attaches to the boom shaft through another set of threads. Those threads fit so poorly that the fitting would pull out of the shaft with even a small amount of pressure. I had a gig the day after the stand arrived, so returning it wasn't an option. I had to drill a hole through the shaft and the fitting and insert a pin.
Gator, we're customers, not beta testers! Five stars for functionality, but 0 stars for quality control. I can't recommend these to anyone who isn't prepared to do some rework.

I've owned a lot of Gator gear - always held up on the road! I paid around $100 for this Mic stand - not impressed. It is made of cheap materials. I don't think it will stand the test of time. I've had it a week and have played 4 gigs. I'll give it a couple of weeks to see.

Great stand for the price. I like the locking clips rather than having the knobs that eventually wear out. Definitely sturdy, only thing I don’t like is how bulky the bottom is when it’s collapsed but other than that it’s a great mix stand. Does what it needs to do, holds the mic. If you’re a guitarist, one of those guitar pick holders won’t fit around it.

This stand is sturdy! My only gripe is that the main shaft is thicker than any other mic stand and now my swirly cup holder doesn't fit...obviously not a deal breaker and well worth the ease of mind the super stability this frameworks ID mic stand provides even with my iPad attached.

Unfortunately, i didn't look at this product much before purchasing and was surprised at its strange flattened shape on the boom, so it didn't work for what i had originally intended ( i used a harmonica attachment and an iphone attachment on my normal boom stand arms), but i replaced another stand where i don't need those items and it is sturdier and more durable than anything i have ever used. Now if i could only find attachments that would fit on this thing, i would take it out on the road.
