The action is decently responsive, the only genuine downside is not being able to adjust the foot pedal in any direction, gets a little wierd getting next to a double bass pedal, doesn't mean just right, but it's cheap, so I would grab it if you need one immediately.

AMS was out of the stand I wanted.getting ready to replace all my hardware so I bought this stand to get me by. Being used to the the stand I had I did not like the new one. Wouldn't go high enough and though the legs swiveled it didn't allow room for double kick. It would prolly be ok for light use or maybe practice hats but would not buy if you are looking for solid gig stand.

Bought for use with Roland VH11 which I also got through American Musical Supply. The stand works perfectly, and the legs rotate to accommodate a double-pedal, or other stands near your hi-hat foot. Gibraltar's advertising is hilarious and sarcastic. I love them.

I bought this hi hat stand for my stay at home practice kit.Definitely a good piece for the price I paid. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on a gig if the need arose.

I will start off by saying that I was replacing my 40+ year old hi hat stand I've had since high school. It was time. I was a bit leery buying this stand sight unseen and for such a low price, but as very happy with the quality of the medium weight. This stand may not survive a power hitter, but will more than do the job for the average rock drummer. The legs swivel so you can better align the stand with your left base pedal, and the bottom cymbal seat tilts. The pull rod spring tension is very easy to adjust so that you get the pedal response you desire. You won't be disappointed with this hi hat stand.

I like this stand. It's sturdy, smooth and accurate. I like the fact that I can turn the legs to make it fit better where I want it. It's definitely a great deal for an intermediate stand.
