Product Rating Product Review I almost bought the aw54opn, but there was something about the look of the pf12 that was more appealing. It has that old mahogany guitar flavor to it, no binding and vintage style tuners. That's where the similarity ends. To me this doesn't really sound like a mahogany top guitar. It is a laminate body with a laminate top. It looks like the same wood they make hollow core doors. Even with all that, I really enjoy it's one of a kind tone. Where this guitar shines for me is how it sounds with other guitars. It adds a really cool vibe to the mix. It's not very bassy nor is it sparkly on the treble side. Low-mid and midrange is this guitars voice. Playability is typical Ibanez, very good. The advantage bridge pins are excellent and make string changes a breeze. Overall I'm quite pleased with this instrument. It is not a 5 star guitar, but it is a keeper.
