Product Rating Product Review I'm primarily a drummer and keyboard player, but I've always loved the bass. After many attempts at trying to learn on a cheap pawn shop model I picked up, I nearly gave up. Then I took a chance on this little short scale Ibanez Talman. It is so much fun to play that I have to force myself to put it down. Extremely versatile when it comes to tone, the neck is very comfortable and it has a really classic look. There is a bit of neck dive, but overall I couldn't be happier for the money.

Product Review I’m primarily a guitar player and wanted a bass to mess with and to put bass tracks on my recordings. Little did I know how fantastic this little bass is! I love the p and j pickup, and both sound amazing desperately and together. This made me wish I picked up bass sooner. The smaller scale makes it super playable, especially for someone used to a small fretboard (like me). 100% recommend.

Product Review My main instrument is the guitar, but for those gigs I play bass on, (having a “shorter” arm length), I’ve found that a standard bass guitar was more uncomfortable for me to hold, and play. This guitar solved my issue 10-fold, as access to the lower register was easy, and the bass’s overall weight was so much more comfortable! Great tone machine as well! If you are looking for a bass guitar on a budget, or for the above reasons, check this Talman TMB30 out! You won’t be disappointed!

Product Review I wanted a no-nonsence, light weight, easy to play and transport, bass for gigs and rehearsal. All these “bases” are covered and some. I can’t say or explain enough, how great this short scale guitar is to hold and play, especially for a “senior” musician looking for comfort on stage! Smooth neck, warm tone, no set-up needed, right out of the box! The price is right too! Try one for yourself!

Product Review For the price you cant beat the tone the Ibanez talman can produce. Gets tones from a jazzy sounding bass to a funk bass so versatile. 10/10 highly recommended if you're looking for a great bass on a budget.

Product Review Haven’t had this bass long, but I know a quality instrument when I see and play one. Fit and finish is crazy good. Frets are finished perfect! Neck is smooth as silk! I have seen nothing that isn’t top notch. I like the pickups , especially the p configuration. I wish it was a little lighter in weight, that would make it perfect! Easy to switch to from guitar, with the shorter scale. Don’t be fooled by the short scale , it’s got plenty of growling low end. I’m very happy and would recommend to anyone. Wish it came with a gig bag ??

Product Review Picked this because I trust the Ibanez brand. The short scale is perfect for beginners, but in my case It was for ease of play. The Talman has great action and a nice tone. I’d recommend this bass as a starter instrument for youth, a or as a nice unit for shorter players.

Product Review Was stunned how well this bass played out of the box. Just the ticket for arthritic hands- helped with speed and stamina! Also the lightest bass I ever used.

Product Review I cannot believe that this bass was so inexpensive! There were no adjustments needed to increase playability, it played great right out of the box. The finish has no flaws. Stays in tune. Sounds great! I have zero complaints about this bass.

Product Review Ibanez certainly has a winner with this bass, especially for the price! It arrived to me set up with low action (no tweaking needed,) and a smooth, fast neck. Being short scale, it's easy to transition, if you're a guitarist that wants to double duty, or you might need something a little easier on the fretting hand to play, since it's a smaller neck to move around with. It's not as narrow as my violin bass, but it's flat enough to where that's not too noticeable. Sound wise, you have the typical Precision and Jazz pickup combo, which you can dial one or the other, or both to as much as you want with individual volume knobs, with one overall tone knob. It does give you a really decent, classic P-Bass sound, with that pickup solo, but I prefer everything wide open. I removed the stock round wound strings, and installed a set of Dunlop short scale flats, which really add to the overall sound, at least for me. If you're looking for an inexpensive short scale bass, you can't go wrong here.
