I wanted a mini comp for a second board. I normally use an optical comp, but thought I’d try this one to see if it would do the job. It’s well-made and feels substantial, all the knobs and the switch have a quality feel, and I believe it would be reliable for gigging.
For me, though, I couldn’t get the sound I wanted. I only use a comp for slide to help for string balance (I only finger pick, no flat pick). This would have worked for more country or funk compression, but not for my needs. Also, it added some high mids that would help cut through the band, but I couldn’t dial it out. So a well made, quiet unit, just not for me.

JHS in my opinion is one of the top dog pedal manufacturers that crank out top tier pedals. This compressor unit does exactly what it should, with an added blend knob to dial back in dry (the non-compressed signal.) Solid reliable product. I've got the box.

Great not very high priced comp. I might of picked this one cause it has some whitey tighty on the front of the pedal. Which is awesome lol. Its a great pedal to boot.

The JHS Whitey Tighty is an impressive compact compressor. It’s very simple to use and does exactly what I needed. Plus it takes up very little space on my pedal board. It added the sustain I was looking for and cleaned up my overall sound. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a space saving compressor that’s simple to use.

It's especially true when you have the blend all the way to the right, but you don't even realize this pedal is doing anything unless you're really paying attention. Coming from a Dyna Comp modded to Ross specs, I'd have unwanted tone coloration and it was super noisy.
This compressor add the sustain, tightens everything up, and with the blend knob you can get those funky, spanky sounds if you want them or you can let your true tone shine through. I keep my blend at about 9 o'clock and the compression at noon and so far this pedal hasn't been turned off. I keep it behind my overdrive pedals to tighten them up, and the floor noise is pretty much non-existent even with the drives stacked.
I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to tighten up their sound, but not compromise any tone.

I’m more than happy with this little guy! The blend knob adds in just enough dry signal to keep your dynamics and punch. You don’t hear any breathing or any added noise. It just works perfectly and really brings a new life to slide guitar work.

The title caught my attention, but I read the description and knew my husband had been looking for a new compression pedal, but he could never find one he liked better than the one he already had. I took a chance and bought this one for him as a surprise! He has now replaced his old compression pedal with this one!
