An absolute beauty of a guitar. AMS was the key to this musical magic happening: top-notch customer support and communication. As a new dad of two little humans- this was not an easy investment to make but I am certain that one day I will be passing down this amazing piece of playable art.

This guitar is insane, specially for the price point. I have a 5,000 hummingbird and I honestly think this guitar sounds better. This is my first martin, I've only had it for a few weeks and I already can't wait to add another martin to the collection. My only complaint is plastic bridge pins and end pin but I've already fixed that.

I bought this model after thinking it over for about 3 months, and I'm glad I did! This DSS-17 is so lightweight and resonant, and the neck shape is perfect for my hands. I love the sound as much as I do the D-18, D-28, and J45, as just like those models it truly has a voice of its own that is really special, yet it totally has a sound in that same high end class. Don't sleep on this acoustic, it may not be around forever! PS, thank you AMS for always being awesome :)

Wow, this guitar really opens up when you play it. Mine has some beautiful accents and colors the rosewood fretboard is amazing. It’s a bit like a race car super light handles great lovin every note of it

Just got it and so far I’m very impressed. I installed an LR Baggs Anthem pickup system in it and it’s the best sounding acoustic I have ever owned. Amazing resonation

I love old 40s Banner J45’s, I’ve had 3, the sound and playability of this guitar reminds of those guitars so much. Good job Martin. If you like mahogany guitars this one is amazing and at a bargain price. I got the Whiskey Sunset and after playing it, I think I will be purchasing a black smoke in the near future.
