Product Rating Product Review This Capo is the best I have used. The tightening screw is great for different necks and frets. I love it. Looks cool too.

Product Review I purchased this model when AMS had a BOGO offer. 1 of the 2 separated into 3 pieces on first use. AMS replaced it with a new one. The gent I spoke with on the phone was not the most friendly, cordial individual I've ever dealt with, but a new one was sent promptly. They're OK at the BOGO price of $15.00 each, but I would not be at all pleased at $30.00. I do recommend the performance 3 @ about $50.00 each. They are excellent with only minor adjusting to for consistent tuning and clarity. That model performs better regardless of neck shape or fingerboard radius. For general performance versus cost, I will stick with the Keysers models that are designed for either acoustic or electric,if you have numerous instruments and want to keep a capo in each case. In conclusion, go with the g7 performance 3, If you can budget them, as your first choice or the Keysers for quantity/quality over the Newport. The Newport seems to be OK If you have the time to fidget with to get it right. In a performance environment the 3 or a Keyser is quicker!

Product Review I have 3 guitars with fat '50s type necks and this is the only capo I've found that opens wide enough to work with them. The bar is too straight to work consistently on a 7.5" radius neck though. The tension adjustment is easy to use, and can clamp down just enough, rather than one tension supposedly working on everything. I haven't used it too much, yet, but so far, it's working well. Now I want the 12-string version.

Product Review Got tired of looking for "the capo". Now I keep one with every guitar. This model is not adjustable. Great!

Product Review The first thing I would say is it's made like an aircraft part but on the petite side. I've had it for a couple weeks now and it does it's job on any guitar using the adjustment knob to get the correct clamping pressure. If it was just a bit bigger it would get 5 stars.

Product Review I love a beautifully engineered gadget and this is not your basic string squeezer. It is more like an aircraft part. At first, it seemed to be quite small but the way it's engineered, it can be adjusted perfectly for every position on the neck. I've only had it for a week so the question of durability is still up in the air.

Product Review I have owned one of these G7th Newport capos for several years. I have been trying to find another one like it because I have been afraid I might loose the one I have. Now I have a backup. I really like the ability to tweek the capo's tention with the adjustment screw. I highly recommend this capo for it's overall quality and durability.

Looks odd - works great

Product Review Buy one because it won’t mess up the neck of your instrument and it always has an even pressure across the strings. If you’re used to the squeeze clamp capos then it might be hard to get used to screwing the capo but it’s worth it when you realize you won’t mess up your instrument. The body is light and the bar holds down the strings tight enough to get a clear sound but not so tight it ruins the tone of the guitar. It’s worth it - if you’re reading this, just put it in the cart already!

Your general opinion of this product. This is a high quality capo, nicely designed, well made, and works effortlessly. I've been a Shubb user for decades, but like the way I can make quick adjustments with the capo in place. This is a well made, precision capo. I expect it to last a long time. It has a three year warranty, a testament to the builder's faith in the product It is very lightweight and opens and snaps closed with ease. The best feature is the adjustment knob, which allows loosening or tightening without removing the capo from the neck. The adjustment mechanism itself is very sensitive to small turns, making it really quick to make minor adjustments for string buzz. I do not detect any change in tone when using this capo. N/A This capo is finished well, with a nice satin metallic finish. It has worked well so far.
