The height of the base combined with the limited 40°angle of the boom restrict the usefulness of this stand. It works well for vocals for people 5'7" and above - standing, not seated - but not for instruments like mandolin or guitar. Since I am only 5'5'', I had to saw a few inches off of the base pole to bring the total height down to a useful height for me. The idea is attractive if they could make a rocker boom that goes to 90° rather than 40.
