Got this amp last summer just before they ran out (COVID and all, supply lines you know). It is the Chinese version, yes, but it still sounds like the Classic 30 I remember playing with about 20 years ago. Very simple setup and not a lot of fuss, and the tone is amazing if your tastes run to older style rock and pop (like 60s and 70s). It does come with the footswitch too. Effects loop lets me run my Boss multi pedal with no problems so you can modify your signal all day long and not have volume issues.

The look and sound of this amp is awesome! For the price and the look it’s spot on. Good clean tones and great tube overdrive in the lead channel.

Recently upgraded my stage amp to this peavey classic 30. As a Steadily gigging bar band musician, this amp is perfect for nearly any type of music (not sure it would do the heavy lifting required for modern medal). The clean channel especially is warm and welcoming. . .perfect for Classic Rock, R&B, even country. The Dirty channel is a nice beefy overdrive that is great for harder rock, though I have mostly been using a tube screamer on the clean channel for my dirty tones.
Also its gorgeous.

This amp is great to get a wide range of tones. I bought it with the specific intention of using it in my cover band. We play everything from Elvis to Arctic Monkeys, and this amp can do it all. Supplement the gain stages with a Tube Screamer of OCD and you'll really be cooking.

I’m going to take a star off right off the bat cause it’s made in China;but that’s just me.Great amp.Nice ,warm clean tone with plenty of bottom end.Breaks up a little sooner on the clean channel than a Fender but it’s fine. The OD channel can go anywhere from Cream type of crunch to ACDC distortion.Reverb is very full and musical.Overall a great amp for the price.Very versatile.I play mostly jazz and blues and the thing handles both well.Haven’t tried the effects loop yet but I am not much of a pedal guy.Distortion sounds fine without pedals.I have read about speaker upgrades but honestly ,this speaker sounds great to my ears.On second thought I think i’ll Change this to 5 stars.Way to go Peavey!

Awesome tube amp. Used it at a gig already and what a difference. Great tone, reverb, volume, EVERYTHING! My guitar seemed to cut thru all the other noise, but wasn't intrusive. Been needing a good amp for a while, glad I went with the Peavey Classic 1x12.

I own many brands of amplifiers and I'm not going to say this one or that one is better. What I will say is the tone that comes from this amp with a few tweaks is wonderful. Easy controls to use to get anything from rock to blues and the price won't break the bank. Guess what made in America. Good choice for a tube amp.

Your general opinion of this product.
Just looing at it, I got a great feeling about it, and of course playing my new guitar through it, confirmed that it's not just looks, it's a killer machine! I've only played it a couple times now, but it will probably be my main amp for a very long time!
very well made

Peavy Classic 30 Amp

Your general opinion of this product.
I wanted a light weight USA made portable blues amp for under $700. The C-30 delivers exactly what I was looking for.
Reviews tend to say the amp is overly bright and I agree some what but after dialing it in and working my guitars tone it smooths out nicely.
once I had it dialed in its basically a set it and forget it amp so im not fiddling with controls all day long to get my sound.
can go from a LP to a strat to a Tele with just a slight
adjustment on the bass and treb knobs.
I think there a bit if a QC issue at Peavey. The reverb tank was barley screwed in, 2 screws were only about 3 turns tight and it was missing the other 2 screws.
3 of the controls screws were loose. I tightened it all up and shes fine but I cant see how it was able to leave the factory that way.

bluesy classic rock to die for. I only use Ch 1 and 2 and get my additional drive from an OCD and sparkle drive to boost it. This is all I need. Think Zep and Bad Co tone and classic Chicago blues on the clean side.
