I bought this over a year ago, and wow was I blown away by this amplifier! It does it all and it does it all very well, it has the high gain tones that you want with a lot of low end this is the best amplifier I’ve ever played through or owned I’ve had several others that can’t compare to the Invective 120. I play a lot of cleans as well as blues, classic rock, Metal and this amplifier does it all and makes me want to play even more when I’m playing because of how good it sounds. It’s the best purchase I ever made and American Musical Supply done a great job getting it sent to my house fast and the payment plans are awesome. I highly recommend this product! You won’t regret it

In my opinion they thought of every thing when building this amp. Built in noise gate is outstanding, clean channel is very clear and bold, even the crunch and lead channels are clear and CHUGGG. It’s the best I’ve ever heard. This is the 1st amp I have played that I can not find something I don’t like. Even the built in power supply for pedals on the back is a great idea to the XLR out. All around great sound probably the best out there at this time you can not go wrong in purchasing one of these. Needed for any metal guitarist.

This head is awesome. My favorite thing about it is that the clean channel is just as good as the dirty channels. Crystal clean. Some people might not want this amp for that, but it has a really great clean sound. I wish I could have gotten the cabinet to go with it, but it sounds great coming through my Mesa cab. I’m in love with this thing. I couldn’t be happier. I had just gotten an Ibanez Axion with Bare Knuckle Aftermaths just before buying this amp. Together they sound phenomenal.

This head will cover almost anything you are interested in venturing in too. Slaying Dragons. Check. Hammering nails. Check. Pissing off neighbors. Check. It has great utility options, great tone, and bone rattling headroom. You can contain volume to bedroom levels without losing character so don't be afraid of the 120 on the front of it.

waited on this one for awhile, should've got it sooner. This amp is fantastic, easily capable of tight modern metal tones. Clean and dirty channels are great. The amp is well built as well, everything is high quality, love the footswitch as well. Noise gate also works extremely well.

Obviously we all know and love the 5150. However it can be a heavy metal one trick pony. Well, the Invective is like if the 5150 was snatched up by Xhibit and got the Season Finale treatment of Pimp My Ride. Except this ride got to keep all the bells and whistles once the episode was over, and they worked. Amazing clean channel, 3 total channels 120 watts but can run at half power, 2 effects loops, 2 separate boosts (Master and Drive Boost/per channel), a built in Noise Gate (per channel as well) with adjustable Threshold, A midi foot switch that has more buttons than the space shuttle, AND, get this, 2 9 volt (@ 500mAh) power supply plugs in back for pedals. All this with a nice lookin' face lift that'll be sure to make it's ex jealous and know they are missing out! Misha Mansoor might have spec'd this amp out like a Ritalin boosted 10 year old but we are all better for it.

I rencently purchased the Peavey Invective 120 head from American Musical Supply (AMS) and the entire transaction was flawless!! The guys there had it packed up and shipped out in no time and i was playing in a couple days....this amp is straight up just a beast for any genre but i use it for playing with my band and the sound is immense, no problems at all cutting thru the mix with my heavy handed drummer and bassist thats punching everyone with 400 watts, the clean is in my opinion the absolute best out of all high gain amps on the market and was created from the ground up just for this amp, the crunch and lead channels are absolute gain monsters and very reminiscent of the 5150 tone and saturation, the bonuses of this thing are the incredibly effective built in noise gate which surpasses my stand alone noise gate pedal, 2, yea... i said 2 built in effects loops and 2 pedal power supply ports on the rear, i have not had the chance to try the 5 pin line out yet due to no shows from covid-19, but i cant wait to plug up to front of house for a live show as soon as things get back to normal. I highly recommended the Peavey Invective 120 to get whatever tone your looking for and American Musical Supply as your dealer....just doesnt get better than that!!!

This was my first purchase with AMS and definitely won't be my last knowing that they are located in NJ just like me. Why have I been having my gear shipped all the way from Indiana all this time? Glenn was super helpful and even willing to match a competitors promotional discount. Wish I had known about AMS sooner!

As I am sure you have heard... this is a nice little amp lol. This is a 5150 and a 6505+ on steroids. The features in this amp are top shelf. The pedal is amazing. The clean tone is fantastic and the crunch and lead are both exceptionally well rounded. Channel boost and a master boost.. a half power switch.. a master tone... presence control... its a thing of beauty...
In regard to AMS - I got my head as a scratch and dent and one of the tubes was blown on arrival. I switched it out and all was great - customer service was fantastic and did a great job making me feel like they appreciated my business and they went to extra lengths to make it right for me. Great head... great CS ... Great company.

I've had my fair share of top level amps in my lifetime & this one is far superior than any of them. This amp does it all! Wonderful cleans , Brilliant mids, & crushing lows. This amp cuts through the mix flawlessly. The boosts on this amp are a very nice added feature along with the midi capability & 9 volt dual power supplies makes purchasing this amp a no brainer. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

American Musical Supply was great in terms of support, but they couldn't if the amp was a dud or operator error, allowed me to exchange it and paid for shipping. Currently waiting for head to arrived and get response email and new amp head. GREAT customer service
