Product Review
I’ve owed a large variety of different brands of guitars but this is very versatile. It can be used in all genres of music. Very light weight, beautiful clean tones, various tone choices, well built, excellent details in terms of everything that a working guitarist need to perform without concerns. Choice of humbucker or single sound. Also, sounds great with overdriven tones as well. If I had to purchase this all over again, I would. I highly recommend this to any guitarist who is seeking a highly professionally high quality guitar.

Stellar Quality You Can Afford

Quality and craftsmanship are not overlooked on this axe. Great value is an understatement...you get an American built PRS at an affordable price point.
Neck feels nice and plays smooth. Nice warm and mellow tones. The thin finish really makes a difference in sustain and letting the mahogany sing.
I do wish it had the classic bird inlays in the fretboard, but that doesn't effect how this guitar sounds and plays. By far my favorite guitar I've purchased.

PRS S2 Satin Standard 22 is a great guitar
By: Jerry

Product Review
My first PRS S2 Satin Standard 22, Antique white finish, impressive enough that I purchased a 2nd one in the Tobacco Sunburst finish! The guitar plays great, and the factory setup was exceptional on this particular guitar. I've heard from other S2 owners that the factory setups have been hit and miss with PRS lately. My first S2's factory setup was horrible, but the the second S2's was fantastic. Can't beat either of the guitars for the money! They play and sound great and there is no need to mod it if you ask me. The guitar comes with a gig bag, but I recommended you buy a real guitar case as soon as possible. AMS has great payment plans and even greater customer service.

PRS on a budget

Product Review
Very nice guitar!Three piece neck is put together flawlessly. The frets and nut are both done to perfection. The finish is very thin so dents will be pretty common but the satin look is a really nice touch. As far as the pickups go:I like them. They are on the dark side but I play mostly jazz and blues and they suit me well. The coil split gives them a brighter sound for those looking for Strat type tones. The tuners ,though made in Korea work great and the bridge is very nice as well.I never use a whammy bar so I can’t comment. Very nice and plush gig bag too.Made in USA ,except for the hardware .Well worth the price IMHO.

I was skeptical about the S2 line of PRS guitars, but I definitely am not anymore. This thing plays great. It’s Extremely versatile with the push/pull tone knob and you can cover a lot of ground stylistically.

Product Review
If you've ever played or owned a PRS core guitar, you know that they ooze quality and playability. The S2 Standard 22 emits that same feeling of quality and ease of playing without most of the high end detail that make the cores out of reach for most of us mortal folks. Fit and finish are fantastic. Nicely rolled fret ends, smooth neck, well balanced, and sounds great. Everything there is to love about an American PRS at an amazing price.
The satin finish (I chose charcoal) really has to be seen in person. The pictures don't do it justice.
The PRS patented (Made in Korea) trem bridge is smooth and brings the guitar back in perfect tune. The pickups (also PRS designed and made offshore) sound really good. Not as clear and defined as the USA pups but good all the same. Play it unplugged and you can hear how well the guitar rings out and sustains.
The neck is big. Similar to the Gibson 50's style, but you can get the action down so low on this guitar it isn't a hindrance if you are used to thinner necks. I used to be more of a Jackson or LTD neck carve guy, but it's very comfortable for both chords or leads. I actually think I like the thicker necks better now that I'm older and losing some of that youthful dexterity I once had......
It's a very light guitar and to me it's closest comparison would be an SG. You can hang it around your neck for hours and not get fatigued.
If you are looking for a solidly built high quality guitar, I suggest you give the S2 a serious look. I don't think you will be disappointed. American PRS quality at import prices. It's a no brainer!

An American made PRS for a grand! I was skeptical at first but seeing as how I really couldn’t shell out a ton of cash I took a chance. I’m so glad I did. This guitar is amazing. The build quality is great I love the feel of the neck ad man does it sound great.Yes I would have loved a flashier finish and a maple top but this is a solid well built guitar that I am proud to have in my collection. Stays in tune even when using the bar. If you are looking for a true PRS but can’t afford the core or other models this guitar is a great alternative. Also with AMS payment plans you can’t go wrong.

The 85/15s pickups sound great. The trem works perfect. The neck is flawless and comfortable. I had an AZ model ibanez and this blows it away in both sound and playability. It's a very musical instrument. It feels alive when you play it. It's a great value when you consider other guitars at the same price point. It's not fancy, but it smokes.

American made PRS quality for under $1000

Product Review
This guitar is beyond amazing. I have been lusting after owning a Paul Reed Smith guitar since I first played one in the summer of 1992. I think it’s amazing that PRS offers a guitar with American made goodness for under $1000. The build quality is amazing. The set up is beyond perfect. Normally, I play 24 fret guitars, but I’ve been wanting a 22 fret one for sometime. There is something about the mahogany wood that goes into making a PRS guitar. This guitar just resonates in a way I’ve never seen in a guitar. This guitar has a much more musical soul then any other guitar I own. Just an awesome guitar and I am glad AMS offers the option of payment plans to help you get the gear you need. I am a terrible salesperson, but you seriously owe it to yourself to check one out and the guys at AMS will take care of you better than any national retail guitar chain.
