This is just a really well designed guitar, it seriously begs to be played. The pickups go from Fendery spank to a high gain over driven roar, and anything in between. The body is super comfortable and light, although the neck is substantial, it plays easily, and the bridge is a work of art. Thanks Paul!

This PRS SE Paul’s Guitar plays as good as it looks!!! I wasn’t a believer in the TCI pickups at first, but they are powerful when gain is applied. The split coil sounds puts out lovely clean tones. The main factor I picked this guitar is that it is really lightweight.

My main guitar is my SE Hollowbody II Piezo. I've been looking for a backup guitar with the same neck profile, and had my eyes on a Zach Myers or a Mccarty SE when I stumbled across this Paul's Guitar SE in turquoise. I was smitten. I absolutely love this guitar. The pickups sound amazing. No volume loss like you see typically with a coil split. Warm and articulate humbuckers and fantastic clarity and spank in single coils. This thing absolutely can be a main axe. I set out to find a backup and came away with a good friend.

Paul's Guitar SE is fantastic. Came packaged well and good to play right out of the box. Guitar comes tuned down a 1/2 step for shipping purposes. Finish is beautiful, neck is beautiful with the abalone birds, and it has massive amounts of sustain. TCI pickups with single coil switching is such a great idea and works great. Huge range of tonal possiblities. Highly recommend if you are looking for an extremely verstile guitar with great looks.

I own several core PRS guitars and was a bit reluctant to add an SE, but this one is a cut above. Feels and plays great, sounds great, and looks amazing. I loved that AMS had an exclusive finish that I couldn't find anywhere else, and it shipped out to me fast. The customer support team was great too! I received a call from them to let me know it had shipped and if there is anything else they could do to help. Will definitely order from them again!

I have a Performer Tele and Performer Strat, both made in the USA and the PRS the Paul guitar blows them both away. Amazingly beautiful and the combination of Mahogany and maple can.t be beat. This guitar sounds even better than it looks (which is hard to do) and the tones that you can get from this guitar are just amazing. I have been playing for over 25 years and there isn't much I haven't owned and very few I haven't played and this guitar just blows the others away. It looks amazing in the flame maple red and the neck is a joy to hold. Couldn't find a better guitar at TWICE the price. You will be delighted with the factory set up and it sings like only a PRS can. Can't recommend it highly enough. I own 8 guitars and this has quickly become my favorite, I can't recommend it highly enough. You will NOT be dissapointed. For the money it is an absolute steal.

This is my first prs and I am loving it. I have always played strats and les pauls for the last 40 years and this is right in between. This thing was great right out of the box with a good setup and great fret work. The individual coil splits are great without a huge volume drop. The attention to detail is much better than the Korean and Chinese guitars I have had over the years. It is clear the people who built this care about the product. I love the trampas green top with killer flame. I have had this guitar for 2 months and love it as much or more than the day I first plugged it in. Shipping was quick and I got a tracking number fast. This is the first time I bought a guitar on line and it exceeded my expectations.

This was the first time I’ve ever purchased a guitar online. I was scared to death that it would be a bad situation. I was wrong. I am super happy with this guitar and the perfect experience with American Musical. Even thou I had to call about something super minor they were more then accommodating in fixing the minor error. Most importantly what I have learned with this and any guitar I’ve ever purchased you will need to make it your own and find those sweet spots for the pickups and put your preferred strings on right away. So when purchasing any guitar especially online be prepared to have it professionally set up if you don’t know how to set it up yourself. I was happy I knew how because right out of the box it wasn’t quite right. But all it was, was minor setup stuff. So in closing if you are thinking about getting this guitar think no more just do it.

This thing is very comfortable to play. Well balanced. Nice cause out for the body in the back. Light without feeling cheap. Nice fat neck. Kind of spanky humbuckers with split coil options. Great guitar for blues. Very nice fit and finish. Fret ends are nicely rounded and Polished no sharp edges very nice guitar

When I received the guitar, the finish and all hardware was flawless. I checked the intonation and setup, also flawless. The only main issue I found was that the nut seemed to be a little too tight for the strings on it, which made tuning awkward. The second thing was the coil-split. I get a lot more noise during the split. I have no experience with coil splitting so I do not know if that is normal or not. Overall I think that this is a quality guitar and well worth the money!

Nice neck and top, very light, but, bridge pickup was not mounted correctly (pole pieces didnt line up with the strings) and there was a bald spot under the clear top coat around the lower horn edge. Also the B string had a buzz. Returned it and got an S2 satin instead for the same price, which is flawless. I guess I got a lemon. I like the concept of the paul's guitar but the execution on mine was bad. Hope yours is good if you decide to get one.

The only split could humbucker that I have ever seen that sounds like a true strat single coil when split. The humbucker position sounds great as well. This makes it an extremely versatile instrument. Not only that but the guitar is absolutely beautiful. It was set up perfectly straight out of the box and ready to play. The only thing I would change, and this is my personal preference, is to give it a satin finish on the neck rather than gloss.

I am going to keep this brief....
Before ordering this guitar online I watched countless videos as well as read any review I could find. I was amazed by the sound of the pickups as well as the switching system. The ONLY negative comment everyone agreed the tuners will need to be replaced.
I went ahead and ordered the Fire Red model and got it 2 days later. After unboxing I was impressed with the included gigbag which is one of the nicest I have ever seen. Unfortunately this is where I stopped. Unzipping the top of the gigbag there was a glop on glue where the nut is attached to the fretboard. As I zipped down the bag and pulling the guitar out of the bag I saw more white foggy spots on the fretboard. In addition the masking on the binding was bad and had bleedthrough. The top looks super fake like its a photo finish. The only nice thing I can say is the bridge is good but the rest of the guitar feels very cheap. This guitar was so bad I didnt even plug in it and called for a return authorization the same day it arrived.
In summary...Ive been playing guitar for almost 30 years and Ive played American PRS as well as import SEs but this thing really is bad. I have player the less expense SEs that looked better than this model.
Bottom line is this guitar would be amazing at $499.99. (Without glue all over the fingerboard) buy $1000 is absolutely insane. PRS would actually be ashamed if he saw this guitar. Maybe I just got a lemon that got pass QC but overall at this price point even an Asian guitar should be flawless

I wanted the SE24 with the Bote on neck,,but she's a little bit more money...I'm sure she's worth ever penny.
I got the PRS SE Paul's Addition.
Half the money,,I don't know how it could get any better.

Grabbed a blemished model for 15% off. Couldn’t be happier. Neck is slightly fatter than let’s say a custom 24. Few little scratches on the bridge and the tiniest pinhole blemish in the finish near the back. Nobody would expect anything but mint with the naked eye. The guitar came setup perfectly.

I've had numerous SE's over the years and this is the best I've played. I was a little leary about the production move to Indonesia, but my fears quickly faded after playing my Paul's guitar in Trampas Green. Finish was great, the TCIs pickups give you just about any sound you can dream up. Super versatile and just a great guitar.

I really wanted to like this guitar but it needed additional work to get it to tune properly and play right. I did contact AMS and let them know the problem but there were no replacements. I also contacted Paul Reed Smith and while they sent screws none of them were a match or fit to the ones used on the tuners installed at the factory when this guitar was made. The guitar also needed a replacement pick up switch because it kept shorting out. The guitar looks good and it did need a set up to get it to sound good. For 1000.00 I expected better. I would have even paid an extra 100.00 to get it right. I had to order new tuners Kluson Locking. One of the holes was striped out at the factory. But guitar tunes now and pickup switch works after being repaired. To me it seems like an average guitar with a PRS sticker was put on it without the attention to detail. That’s just my take on it and anyone looking at this guitar should just be aware that to make it a really good playing guitar it’s possible some extra work will be needed to get it to play properly. If you’re OK with that then go ahead and buy it and do what you need to do.

I love this guitar, in the 2000s, I bought a new Paul Reed Smith with the same colors. At that time Paul put a sweet switch on the guitar, I really miss that guitar. This new Pauls guitar remind me of the late 1980s. Instead of having a sweet sweat she has two switches just put the coils in each pickup to a single coil or hum bucket, any way you like.
You should get one before they’re gone!

The SE Paul’s Guitar is a fantastic guitar in looks, playability and tones! And for the price, it is an outstanding value. The neck feels wonderful and the fret work is amazing. The TCI pickups sound great as both humbuckers and single-coils, and the 2 mini-switches are much easier to use than push-pull pots. Everything about this guitar feels very solid and extremely well thought out! Additionally, the solid aluminum tailpiece with brass inserts is the same exact bridge as used on the PRS Core Paul’s Guitar! The SE Paul’s Guitar is as much value as can be found for under $1000.

The B string buzzed in the nut.
The bridge pickup adjusting screw head was stripped because the pickup routes were too small so to get the pickups in there, they bent the pickup tabs downward a bit. Great - the pickup is in but the screws don't line up with the hole in the mounting ring so it had to be forced which caused it to bind and hard to turn. As a result, they stripped the head of the screw.
Within 3 days, the tone control stopped working and at about the same time, the 3-way toggle switch stopped working in the neck position so I had no neck pickup at all.
Needless to say, I returned it.
Quite a shame, really, as those TCI pickups sounded way better than any other SE pickups I’ve played/owned.
Maybe the Indonesian production team isn’t quite as slick as the Korean team or maybe I just got a dog. Either way, this was definitely not what I expected from a PRS (SE or not).

Have a few SE products, this is definitely a top drawer SE guitar. Buying a PRS in the first place gets you a lot of quality for the money, and it shows in how the wood is treated, the guitar was in tune and ready to go on arrival (and didn't even need a setup). I would say without a doubt, it met and exceeded my expectations in terms of overall quality and sound that it is capable of producing.
The only thing that knocked this to 4 starts and not 5 is the tuner buttons seem cheap; though in my case I change to locking tuners anyhow so I didn't care about that.
@John - could you retry your review but instead, perhaps in English? Or some language that can be read intelligibly? I literally have no clue what you're trying to impart and am curious how you came up with the low rating.

I've been waiting on this guitar for a couple of months now. I finally got mine a couple of days ago. Honestly, I'm pretty blown away at the quality of it. I got the Aqua finish, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Easily the best looking top on any SE guitar that I've seen. I used to have one of the Core Paul's guitars, 2 or 3 years ago. I had to sell it, unfortunately. While not QUITE the same sound, for a 2500 price difference, this SE is amazing enough that I can't even see myself buying another Core Paul's guitar, which I had planned on doing.
The pickups and the switching make this guitar. It's so versatile. Very little volume drop when going from humbucker to single coil. The neck pickup sounds very big and round in humbucker, and nice and piano like in single coil. The bridge pickup is nice and bright (in a good way) and still very full in humbucker, and chimey but not piercing in single coil.
The neck is full and feels good in my hands. The tuners also look cool and hold tune very well. The bridge is pretty much exactly what it was on my Core model. Same tooling and attention to detail. I only lowered the action slightly for taste, and this thing just ripped, straight out of the box.
I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a versatile and great playing and sounding guitar. In my opinion, you can't go wrong.

Paul Reed Smith could have at least made some kind of project on the pickups for these even if their Imports some urgent care a little bit it's still his name on the product or in a sense. Whether it's PRS or Paul Reed Smith yeah I am still connected trying to put it off on it as an import terrible they should have an upgraded pick up to go on these items we're paying for the name now at least they should be worth what we're paying for.
