Product Review This might have been a good review had the iso cab not arrived damaged. There is nothing that secures the lid and provides support other than the latch and the two flimsy hinges. Due to this the top lid has a tendency to twist during shipping because of how the shippers handle the box no matter what stickers are on it. If there were supports inside the packaging the went along the sides of the iso cab like on some higher end 4x12 cabinets to protect the edges, the damage may not occur. I emailed Randal regarding this same issue and have not received any kind of response.

Product Review This is an awesome ISO Speaker cabinet. Only complaint I have is the hinges are garbage. The small screws holding them the the cabinet stripped out in shipping. I drilled the holes and replaced with better hinges and bolts.

Product Review This is an update to my prior review. I already liked the cabinet. Some of the modifications most people would have done are already there. Black egg crate foam is already installed in the lid. The bottom does not have the foam treatment so the sound can be what some have called "boxy" from the reflections at the rear of the speaker. All you need is 5 12X12 egg crate type foam squares. They will fit perfectly on the walls inside the bottom of the cabinet after you remove the speaker. No needs for adhesive. Find the 6 inch mark on one of the panels. Measure 7 inches up and punch out a hole for the speaker wires to go through. Drop the 5th panel on the bottom and put the speaker back on. The reflections have gone away. The signal is more clear and defined. The cabinet sound leakage isn't as pronounced. Get some decent panels. I paid for an 8 pack at Amazon for $31 of the 2 inch variety. Not as dense of Auralex, but does the job. Randall should just ship it that way to begin with.

Product Review You'll notice in photos that the sound deadening is gray and fibrous. The one I received from AMS is upgraded with the egg crate type acoustic foam. This is one step in upgrading the cabinet that I don't have to do, now. There is still no foam at the bottom of the cabinet, which is fine. It can be added easily. Some upgrade with another gooseneck, but I found a way around that in buying an MXL DX-2 microphone. It has two capsules built in that you can use either side of or blend together, but still use the single gooseneck and output. The cabinet uses a Celestion Vintage 30 at 8ohms. It is not dead quiet, but at a decent level it be low enough to not upset your neighbors at all. I would not recommend turning your tube amp up to 10, but you an turn up a 100 watt head at 2-3 and get a nice overall sound. You just need enough of the speaker moving. Very happy with the product.

Product Review This thing is fantastic! I was fortunate though, when it arrived, it apparently hadn't been latched in the box so in transit the weight of the lid tore the hinges out. Luckily, there was no damage to the components so I got slightly larger screws and screwed then back in. It works great, although the hardware could be upgraded. It vibrates like crazy which is almost as bad as a loud speaker, so I used some foam rubber and quieted it down. I also modified the cabinet by moving the internal mic mount and putting in an additional one so I can use 2 mics at once the way I like to do. I lined the door with window sealant to make it even quieter which also allows the mic cable for the second mic to pass through (but I'll install a second XLR jack soon). If you record at home and haven't the luxury of a live room that's isolated from the house and neighbors, get this! My mods weren't necessary, just my way of making it even quieter in my Queens, NY apartment.
