It's a solid beginner kit, a little bigger than I expected it to be. It takes up a lot of room. My first wish was that it was more compact - and almost took to sawing down the bars.
The module is as basic as you can get, some useable presets, some that aren't so good. The good part about this though is that it's very user friendly. If you plan on using this kit past a beginner stage though, you're going to need to upgrade the module.
The mesh pads are well constructed and feel nice and durable. As does the construction of the "drum" part of the pad. They honestly feel like they could belong on a premium kit and I appreciate that.
The kick pad is another story though, it's spongy and doesn't feel anything like the real thing. This is an absolute needed upgrade right out of the box.
All in all; I think for a beginner there are less expensive options that pack more features. Look at Alexis, or Simmons. The Roland name doesn't justify the price tag with this kit.

I’ve been playing this guy everyday since I got it. It’s perfect fir my tiny nyc apt. Wall are thin I can hear my neighbors sneeze but I haven’t gotten any complaints. Sounds are usable… but if you use a usb and something like ez-drummer the options are endless.

Roland TD-1DMK electronic drum kit is the most usable kit on the market. The sound is excellent and have that deep tone on the toms and cymbals and crack on the snare. The most likeable option is portability, you can transport this kit by folding it up with everything still plugged in. For tight spaces on stage this is the ideal electronic drum kit. I have had this kit for some time now and love playing it at home and on gigs. I would recommend this kit and it is light weight and you don't have to lug the heavy hardware on an acoustic drum set.

This is the second drum kit I have ordered from AMS and I have had nothing but a great experience from them. Great Customer Service and last but not least, it was on my door the day after I ordered!

This is a great home studio drum kit or just for practice.
I run it as a midi controller for my drum program in protools and it works perfectly! Plays very well. smaller symbols take a little getting used to if you're not that great like me but the drummer in my band does just fine on it! Only con was there were no instructions on how to set it up which might be an issue if you've never done it before.

I have been recording drum tracks with them the sound is great ,to be able to change the sound of the drums is a big plus easy set up , very portable! I was so happy to open my brand new Roland v drums I had always wanted one growing up but couldn’t afford it. I was always so fawn of the v drums series. Anything that looked that cool with mesh heads got my spider drumer senses tingling to the point that I get happy just looking at them you can only imagine what I feel after getting behind my roland Td kit I have dw 3000 double bass pedals on my kit and wow it’s a match made in drummer heaven. The one thing that disappointed me in this amazing kit was the limited area of kit change there’s only 15 sounds kits on this Brian and it’s ok but it just makes me want the newer better kit with more Sophisticated brain hope this was a good review for u guys truly quincy jones 37 of Tallahassee fl

This drum kit has been a dream to set-up and get started playing within a short time. My grandson has the best time learning and playing this set. It has motivated him to bypass his video games and play along with his songs that are playing through the bluetooth connection. This kit has top quality sound through the headphones and when connected to our entertainment system it really brings the live experience for all of us to enjoy. I am really pleased with the experience of purchasing this kit and the really helpful staff who answered all of my questions politely and thoroughly. Very satisfied and will be purchasing more equipment in the future as my other grandchildren start their musical journey. Thanks so much in being there for me AND my family!

I’ve owned two e-kits and this one is by far the best. Simple to set up and use. It integrates perfectly with my acoustic set and my dtxm-12. I can’t say enough good things. It records beautifully, has amazing sensitivity, excellent feel, the full package. Don’t hesitate to buy any of the Roland sets, they are truly in their own class.

For a kit that's marketed to learners and amateurs, I'm truly impressed by the attention to detail, clever design, and overall quality of the TD-1DMK. I'm a composer and I bought this kit so I could have drums in my home (apartment) studio. It has been an excellent resource for recording, jamming, and practicing. What sets this Roland kit apart from entry level kits I've tried by other brands like Alesis, Yamaha, and Simmons is that the sounds are much more nuanced and realistic - close your eyes and play and you won't just feel like you're playing more expensive electronic drums, you'll feel a little like you're playing an acoustic kit. MIDI via USB is a great feature for recording with the drum engine of your choice, and the coach modes and playalong tracks are both great for experimenting and getting better.
I only have a few gripes... More volume from the module would be nice - the volume control goes from 0-20 and I never have it below 18 when I'm playing in headphones. Also this kit uses the CY-5 for all the cymbals, and for a ride it's a little too small and a little too weightless. A larger ride cymbal might be my first upgrade.

The drums were awesome, the delivery was the very next day. My boyfriend was so excited. We also ordered the drum stool and sticks. Received all of them on the same day as the drums. Under 24 hours. We are now looking to purchase a bass drum kick peddle. I would recommend 100%. My daughter recommended them to me. What an awesome daughter I have.

This was my first electric kit and I chose wisely. I had a regular kit and I ended up getting rid of it because of this kit! I can play it through headphones with a line in to play with music of any kind or I can play through a small speaker for a quiet jam or hook it up to my 2000+ watt PA and play louder than a real kit! It’s so versatile. I also chose this kit for its double bass capabilities on the pad for the bass pedal. Great all around kit!

Roland is in it's own class with e-drums. This set is in that sweet spot between won't break the bank and getting everything you need without sacrifice. Works great from beginner to touring pro that needs to practice when home at anytime without sacrificing sound or quality. The basic sounds that come with are all you need. Fantastic set!

I have been tinkering with drums most of my life and I've played numerous different brands of acoustic and electronic drums over the years and I must say that for a reasonably priced set of drums these Roland drums are cleaner and have a better sound to me then the others and they are built better as well. I am enjoying every minute I get to play these Roland TD1DMK drums and I hope to get a lot of years of good use out of them. I'm glad I went ahead and spent the extra few dollars to get this set versus the Alesis or the Simmons
and I thank you American Musical Supply for making it easy and quick. Oh and the double Bass Pedal a must have!!!!!

First piece of TECH gear I have purchased that was actually plug and play . Compatible with Logic and Garageband no problem. I do wish you could mix some of the presets with others . However , there are a couple quality sounding kits on there as is . If you're using as a recording kit the individual drums can be manipulated quite easily in Logic using the Producer Kits . Would be great if you could control the amount of reverb for the kits but its tolerable . My one real complaint it how the thing moves as you play . A rug or something is a MUST! All in all a nice sounding kit that allows me to practice at 4 A.M. with neighbors on all sides and a wife and kids sleeping in the house . Also I was able to position pads similarly to my acoustic kit.

This is my first vdrum set I’ve ever had. After a 15 year lay off I wanted something that was low cost with big return. I also wanted to be able to practice whenever I felt the itch regardless of time in the day. This kit has delivered greatly. It’s compact but has big sound. It’s exactly what I needed. If you are just starting out, getting back into drumming, or maybe need a quiet kit to practice on I’m telling you this is the kit. I love it and am so happy to be doing what I love again after all this time. Thank you Roland for making it possible!!!!

I’ve been trying to surprise my daughter with an electric drum set for the past 4 years now and everytime I wanted to get one I ended up not having enough money/no money at all to purchase it. When I found out about this website I was able to go on here and make a payment plan and finally got the opportunity to surprise my daughter with an electric drum set for her 13th Birthday which was a day after Christmas. Good buy for the price. Pads are good. It has a simple module. The mesh pads/cymbals have good sensors. Great sound, but with this model you need to purchase headset, throne, and kick pedal separately.
It's sturdy all around.
Fast delivery. Two days like advertised.
We are happy with the purchase and would recommend it to a friend.

Sounds are amazing compact and portable. I use it an area where I can’t be very loud but the. I use it at a gig and plug into the sound and it works amazing. It’s a Roland leader in electronic drums. You want the best you’ll get the best with this kit.

First of all the price for this e-kit. It feels real, on this one you get what you play, so it really plays every note you hit. I’ve used it in several acoustic sessions so far and it hasn’t let me down. Plus it’s oractice for practicing silently. One other thing I love about this kit is the kick pad, it’s an oval shaped black rubber pad that goes into the rack, so it gives you plenty of space to set up your double or single pedals. I do recommend it.
