Growing up in the 70s and listing to Funk and R&B you had to listen to The Brothers Johnsons if you were going to get a gig. As a guitarist, I used to love playing songs by TBJ. As I got older, I started playing bass and this bass will allow me to relive those days. The bass played with butter right out of the box. Simple controls and a beautiful finish. I've had it for two weeks and cannot put it down. It exceeds my expectations. I think AMS is out of stock right now, so sorry, not sorry :)

Saw this 25th Anniversary on sale at AMS, and needed a 5-string, so timing was perfect. This bass was great right from the box, set-up & action just about perfect, and sounds incredible like every MM Stingray does.

When I got it out of the box there were a couple little things I had to tighten up. Other than that just had to tune it up. This bass sounds significantly better than any of my other basses.

I own several bass guitars, this being the first StingRay. I was leary about the single pickup at first. But after playing it, I have to say that I have absolutely no qualms about its performance. I love the rich, deep tone. The finish is impeccable, as is the overall feel of the instrument. This is now one of my favorites; so much so that I would not hesitate obtaining another. Good job Sterling & AMS!

Very well made, neck feels great. Tone is good, took me a little to get used to the EQ and no selector on the pickup, but overall great sounding bass for the price. I love the look, feel, and sound of a musicman/sterling bass.

Bought this bass for my studio for doing demos, not wanting to spend several thousand for a USA MusicMan, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this instrument and the sound, well worth the price!
