I'm really loving this guitar. It arrived packed up well and in good playing condition. The finish and details are fantastic. This is the best quality and feeling guitar I've played on (other guitars include an Ibanez RG series and Telecaster Player Plus). The tones I'm getting just make me want to keep on playing!

Product Review
So overall it’s a great guitar.
The build and the finish are nice.
However there was some overspray where the neck meets the body on the side of the fingerboard.
Also, the shielding paint wasn’t applied thoroughly. There were a few missed spots.
The soldering on the wiring was sloppy.
The guitar sounds noisier than it should.
And the worst culprit of all.
The nut wasn’t cut properly on 4 of the strings. It wasn’t cut deep enough so I will be correcting that. This guitar would be a nightmare for a beginner.
These companies are clearly rushing the production of these guitars.
I do recommend it but only for those who have money to pay a tech to correct issues or if you tinker with guitars.

This guitar is by far one of the best I've ever played. The neck is very comfortable to play. The pickups are excellent. There was a huge difference in tone compared to the pickups in my other guitar I have. It's got a fair amount of weight. Overall if you can afford it get it. It's worth every penny.

More so than I thought I would be. The quality of this guitar is above my expectations. As is the stock setup it comes with.

I’ve owned high end guitars from the top makers, paid 2 to 3 times more than I paid for this guitar and this guitar beats them all hands down. Little things like fret work, neck finish, tuners etc all are high end appointments. The “Made in the USA” pickups do it all. And add the coil split feature and you get tons of tones from the same guitar. I don’t Janie how they do it for this price but I’m glad they do. Schecter customer for life!!

The Schecter Solo II Custom is the one guitar everyone should own. I'm a self-taught guitarist with over 10 years experience under my belt and this guitar has changed the game for me. Whether it's soft blues or heavy metal you like, this guitar knows how to sound. It's easy on the fingers, it's light on the shoulders, its an all around bad boy toy. Wait till you hear how it sounds on stage??. To the person on the fence reading this, do yourself the greatest thing you could do. Quit reading this review and just buy it already. I bought a blemished item but if there is an actual blemish, I sure can't find it. The Trans Black Burst is beautiful and I like it better than the Satin Black. This is a beautiful quality instrument with lots of high-end components. Came set up ready to play with no adjustments necessary for my needs. Workmanship is flawless. Just a beautiful, high quality, great sounding instrument. For a Les Paul style guitar it doesn't get much better than this. Highly recommended. Fast shipping and great price from AMS.

It's set up perfectly and plays like a dream. The tone is pretty solid for a rock guitar. My only complaint is that it's a bit heavy (reminds me of those concrete slabs we called guitars back in the 80's), even for an LP body, but the tone and playability make up for it.

I am so impressed with this Schecter Solo II Custom. So many high end appointments from the beefy locking tuners, the Ernie Ball articulated nut to the ebony fingerboard on the 12/16 compound radius neck, REAL mother of pearl block inlays, Pasadena Customer Shop pickups to.....well you get the point.
Schecter spared no expense in this single cut Les Paul model. You cannot get a Gibson with these features for less that 3,000.00 and this model comes in at just under a grand. Plus the fit and finish of this made in Korea guitar are absolutely flawless.
This guitar is simply a BEAST. If you are looking for a high value, high quality alternative to Gibson....you absolutely will not be disappointed with the Solo II Custom.

What a Modern Singlecut Guitar Should Be

Product Review
This is what a modern singlecut guitar should be. The locking tuners, the TonePros bridge and tailpiece, the coil split function of the tone-knob, the ebody fretboard and satin neck. It's got everything you'd want from a modern guitar, but it's also got everything you've come to expect from a singlecut.
The stock pickups sound great. They feel full of life. They can play something quite heavy and gritty, but then clean up well for split sounds. Very versatile.
The guitar stays in tune really well thanks to the Ernie Ball compensated nut (it's also one of the cooler looking nuts I've seen).
Overall, I've had this guitar for a few months and it has quickly become one of my favorite guitars I've owned over the 15 years I've played guitar. 10/10 would buy again.

Standout features are build quality, neck feel and playability, perfect fretboard, gorgeous looking pickups which are relatively quiet and great sounding through a wide spectrum of music tastes. Guitar strap holders are well thought as are the low profile speed dial knobs which don't hinder strumming motions. The body cut-out near neck allow for shorter fingered hands to reach upper fret register perfectly.
There is nothing I dislike about this particular guitar and it has exceeded my expectations. Hard to believe that all of this is under $1000.00.

Straight out of the box, this guitar is simply perfect from the craftsmanship to the setup. Intonation is spot on and the compensated nut allow for aggressive chord strumming yet stays completely in tune. Neck profile is a really nice compromise between classic 60’s slim Les Paul and modern C shape. The Pasadena pickups are very neutral and balanced tone wise. A great quality for recording and this guitar sounds fantastic when tracking. High gain players should appreciate the note definition these pickups provide. If you’re in the market for an LP style single cut with some modern appointments look no further....dollar for dollar this is as good as it gets!

Product Review
I bought the maple top one. Beautiful guitar. I cannot find any flaws in the finish, or binding etc. The action was a bit high out of the box but I dropped it a little. Plays as nice as many upper end guitars. The pickups are nice---lots of output when needed. Similar to gibson vintage style HB sound. The coil tapping is a nice feature and thins it out a bit. The pots are nice and its a nice touch to have the bridge volume as the top knob most accessible as this is a rock n roll machine and most of us use the bridge pickup most of the time. Neck is not too thin or too fat and is not slick---it has a slightly sanded look and feel from the factory. Locking tuners are nice----like the larger knob. Just a great guitar. I would have it over most lower end studios etc. and over some more expensive LP style guitars. Frets nice---no sprouts or rough edges. Korean factory paid attention to details on this model. It is heavy feeling. Highly recommend for rock / classic rock.Wish it came with a case although it was boxed well.

I was sceptical buying something that wasn't a PRS. But I wanted a Les Paul style guitar without breaking the bank. But boy was I shocked at the clarity of the Pasadena pickups. Guitar did need to be set up, but that's only because I changed to 9 gauge strings. This is the 3rd guitar I have got from AMS this year and like always customer service was great and payment plans even greater. Thanks AMS!

This guitar is well built. The neck is comfortable and the frets are perfectly dressed. All hardware is top notch. The tuners are really good and operate smoothly.
If you like single cut guitars this one stands up to guitars three time it’s price. The pickups are good but for my taste they are not very tight. However, they are excellent for just about any style.
The neck profile is not thin but it’s not a bass ball bat. It’s great for chording and soloing. I own two of these and if they made them in more colors I would get one in each.

Well before you go and say (Like I do lol) that this is just another Les Paul clone- I will advise you that you would be wrong. Its not even close. The differences are huge 1> Price is half or more less than an "official" Les Paul 2> The Neck is narrower and a little thinner than the standard Les Paul Slim taper- perfect for medium size hands, ladies and younger players 3> The neck is satin finish not gloss- I like that 4> its lighter than an official Les Paul- not by much but I like that 5> Sounds Awesome for the money paid- but that can always be changed when you want and 6> Action came set up a bit high- strange for a Schecter, but no but no fret buzz but I will get it professionally set up and 7> I got the Trans black with natural wood body IT LOOKS FUN AWESOME- what a beautiful Instrument- seeing it in person is different than the pics I can tell you. Doing business with AMS, whohjc I am a new customer is very easy- excellent customer service and VERY easy returns- I have retuned

Since this guitar wants to be a les paul custom so bad I figured I'd compare it head to head with one and it delivered big time. The weight is the same, maybe an ounce or two lighter but you definitely know you're holding a guitar when you strap it on. The neck is a little slimmer than the 1960s slim taper neck of the gibson but not so much so that you'll think you're playing a shredder. Very comfortable. The pickups are comparable to gibson 57s. Not high output but great for ACDC, led zeppelin type rock. The construction is great. The binding is perfect and the satin finish feels incredible. Schecter nailed it with this guitar and the only shame is that it will be looked at as a LP copy when it's so much more. Do yourself a favor and try one out.

Great single-cutaway alternative
By: Jack

Product Review
Fit and finish, weight, sound, look, and feel are exceptional even compared to a US made single-cutaway equivalent. As a bonus, it has some very serviceable single coil tones when tapped. Satin neck looks and feels fantastic, and the flame top (cap? veneer?) with the double binding really adds to the overall look. Absolutely stays in tune, and the compensated nut is a premium feature that helps with the intonation. The manufacturer case is separately purchased, and a little pricey, but very nice and has TSA locks. I wouldn't use this for modern/progressive metal, Texas blues, or use alternate tunings below drop C#, but great for absolutely everything else! Love it!
