I only have 2 V's, as I am mostly a Les Paul or single cut style guitar player. I was looking for a V for some reason and stumbled upon the Schecter...it has great features, locking tuners, block inlays vs dots on a lot of V's, USA pickups, good hardware and electronics, jumbo frets, plus I'm a sucker for a purple flame top!! Great guitar!!

Better Than The Rest...

Product Review
This guitar looks almost as good as it sounds, and it looks fantastic.
Made at the World Musical Instruments Company in South Korea, the build quality is second to none. I have four guitars built at this factory, two Schecter V-1's (a Classic and a Custom) and two BC Rich Mockingbirds. They
are all high quality professional instruments for about half of what you'd expect to pay. The Schecter V-1 Custom is a great gigging guitar for several reasons. It's lightweight and well balanced, no neck dive issues. The coil-tap capability make this guitar very versatile with it's single coil and humbucker sounds. The compound radius ebony fretboard makes soloing on the upper frets easy. The matte finish on the neck eliminates the drag of a poly-coated finish. The small cutaway where the neck meets the body gives unfettered access to the top most frets. If you are a gigging guitarist, there is no better choice of a Flying "V" style guitar than the Schecter V-1 Custom. The performance and features far outshine anything else out there, even at twice the price (looking at you Gibson).

This is a great sounding and playing guitar. I love the matte finish on the back of the neck-super fast for shredding. The pick ups are very articulate with great tone. If you've always wanted to try out a V-style guitar, you can't go wrong with this Schecter.

It's a great guitar. Schecter builds the guitars well, with cool designs and modern features like the thin, fast neck and great stock pickups. Compare any Schecter to a comparably priced guitar. My Schecter have better build quality than most of my guitars. I can see why people dig Schecters. Tey one. Even an inexpensive one will blow your mind. And the more expensive models will blow your mind.

This instrument is of exceptional quality. While the finish, binding, and inlays are gorgeous, what really blew me away were the frets themselves. It came with an amazing fret job; no edges, buzz - playing on it was a pleasure. Best fretboard I've played on in 23 years. I'm a shredder, and this instrument met my needs perfectly. The tuners lock, which minimizes the amount of re-tuning between songs - very solid and stable. No intonation problems on the guitar whatsoever. The shorter scale length and extra-jumbo frets may take some getting used to. However, you have much easier access and and easier time with bends and wide vibrato once you do. The neck is really thin and has awesome high-end access. Satin finish on the back of the neck for smooth transitions between positions. Pickups have a very warm Gibson SG-esque tone - very versatile. Good for blues, rock, and metal. Guitar rests well against the body while standing - does not dip.
