These pickups have the perfect standard P Bass sound. If you're looking for classic P Bass tone, with no frills, these are perfect.
The only reason I give them 4 stars and not 5 is because of the hardware included. You get the pickups, mounting screws, pads, and wiring instructions. But what you really need but was not included are springs. Luckily, I had some in my box of spare parts. But this is not typical of most people. Maybe not every installation requires springs? Mine certainly did. What could springs cost? No reason Duncan can't provide them.

Seymour Duncan makes exellent pickups, the spb-1 is vintage tone and exellent quality.
