I've always been interested with the steinberger since I first saw the headless bass in the 80's. Bought the lefty for my son as he packs out for college. Not just a travel guitar but a full performance workhorse. 24 frets, bridge and all...whew ?

Not sure if it was an assembly issue at the factory, but the tremolo was binding against the body. Once I disassembled and recentered it (no drilling needed) and threw a fresh set of strings on it, it was good to go. This version of the Steinberger has passive pickups, but they're so much higher output than the old EMG Select pickups that were used in the 90s Steinbergers. Crisp, very low noise, and the zero fret neck plays super fast. I can't put it down!

Just what I needed. A travel guitar that is also ready for the stage. Great sound and feel. Fits in overhead bins on airplanes.
