I have gone through so many interfaces and all of them had let me down in more ways then one wether it was driver issues, the sound not being up too par or not all the features being available.
After reading and doing so much research I came across the APOLLO X series. You have analog channels, high samplerate lightpipe ( 8 channels at 96k ), stereo spdif ( which worked independently) and last but not least 2 headphone outs.
From here I purchased the unit, received it, set it up, was greeted with the registration and everything else was a breeze. You are given 6 dsp cores to use the plugins provided by UA.
The console app is so easy to use and breeze through because it’s setup like a real mixer. The cool part that I love is that you can record with the plugins and commit the sound if your into setting a tone and going for it which intrigued me a lot.
The unit itself is so beautiful too look at. The build is sturdy and the power switch is tough! Another huge perk is you can cascade up to 4 of these units and the software / drivers will adjust and keep on trucking.
This is a modern marvel and it is a wonderful time to be making music. With all the tools in your pallet it’s no way you can’t make some really great records from the comfort of your home.

The ability to use studio grade plugin emulation in a recording monitor chain with no latency is still amazing to me. Is it pricy? Sure. But if you're in the market for a top of the line home recording solution UAD is where it's at.
I recently also purchased a Softube Console 1 + Faderport and the integration just feels so legitimate. I highly recommend checking that piece of gear out as a companion and your home studio and mixes will definitely shine. Less eyeballing and more listening.

Is it expensive? Yes! Is it worth it? Yes! The 8 analog TRS ins and outs sound great the 4 unison Preamps sound great as well. The HiZ guitar input also does the job. The converters sound great. The UAD Plugins are a bonus.

I Recently purchased the Universal Audio Apollo x8 from AMS I absolutely love this unit i Already owned the 1st gen Apollo 16 Thunderbolt and wanted to get the full emulation of analog gear with the unison pres additional 6 cores of DSP while tracking And MIXING also additional I/O wouldnt hurt either this is a super clean looking unit as the original you definitely hear a difference Cant explain what they did but they did it Top notch gear as all of UA Gear is i bought all of my other gear from AMS as well the last few years THE PAYMENT plans are one of the best in the business 0% Buy now pay later is one of the reasons i have what i have with having a family and still manage to get top quality gear To record my music and others as well AMS is a true blessing

Very solid and beautifully designed interface. The software REALLY does what universal audio says it does. My recordings & Mixes came to Life with this interface and software collection. I am blown away by the realistic and spot on modeling of analog gear uad does. The best investment I've made in my project studio thus far because now i can sound like the big boys.. keep going uad,and thank you american musical for your quality customer service and tech support..

I can't lie I started with an Apollo Twin mkII and after I upgraded to the X8 My life has change. I will not get technical, But this thing sounds crispy clear. I own a label and I have been recording all of my artists with only the X8 using their unison technology. If the budget allows. Please buy this interface and join the UAD family. We love it here.

Upgraded from the first generation Apollo Quad. Works great with my 500 series Neve 511 and Avalon. Superior audio quality. Best Interface on the market!!!
