Very versatile compressor. From classic country to hard rock, this pedal has you covered! It will take a few adjustments, but once you learn your way around the controls, it's unbeatable.

I hesitated a long time before pulling the trigger but glad I finally did. The Ego compressor pedal feels well built and sturdy. Does great for country and rock with my single coil Tele and Strat. This pedal does not add an excessive amount of noise and with the blend knob you can dial in as much of your clean tone as you want from about all clean to an all compressed tone.

I have the Mini Ego on another pedalboard and I love the sustain knob on the big brother. The pedal has phenomenal versatility. The tone control is very interactive and when switching from single coil to humbucker pickups all is needed is a tone adjustment to dial things in. Built like a tank and the footswitch is as quiet as a church mouse.

The Ego compressor is well worth the money. It is fully adjustable to suit different compression needs and differences in guitars. In addition, it is very quiet. I keep it on at all times.

Smooth sustain, nasty squeeze, and everything in between—my single coil super hero

Like many folks, I bought a compressor to cover squishy territory. I was happy with my tone, and didn’t feel like I needed or wanted an always-on enhancer. But after playing with the Ego for a bit, I can’t turn it off. A maxed compressor can kill your tone, but dialed in well, the Ego gives it fresh life. The sustain and body feel like a cranked amp, at any level, and I love it. I know this is especially popular in the Nashville scene, but the Ego has the versatility to satisfy all sorts of players.

I've tried other compressors, and the Ego is by far the most versatile, the quietest (no added noise), and simply the best. The five knobs offer infinite tone possibilities. And the sustain—wow!

I was slow to learn about compressors. But once I tried one, I was hooked. A compressor normalizes the amplitude of every note. It can amplify every sound to the same volume so as a note fades after the attack, the compressor amplifies the decaying signal. The result can be various degrees of limitation or expanded sustain. It can also give your gain a sweet boost. I like a compressor with a lot of sustain ability. One that can make the long notes ring like freedom in clean, crunch or overdrive.
I've owned and experimented with many. Some of my favorites have been discontinued models from the eighties, like the DOD fx80B and the Ibanez CP9. Unfortunately, the great sustainers are often very noisy.
This Wampler pedal sounds great! Plenty of sustain, as well as other tone shaping features. The sustain knob will not affect the attack volume. It's very user friendly and it's American made.
