Product Rating Product Review Saw Kyle Gass from Tenacious D making this beauty sing and I was in the market for an acoustic. I have not been let down in the least bit with this guitar. Love the sound, on or off. Feels great, action plays well. Been playing guitar for 23 years. This guitar is not your typical Yamaha. They really pulled out all the stops on this build. You won't be disappointed.

Product Review This guitar is fantastic , I’m very very happy with it and also with AMS for making easy to get this item. Willing that Yamaha creat same size transacustic guitar (nylon’s string ) version . That would be great since they are available in full size and parlor . Everything said , this guitar is fantastic .

Product Review So this is easily a 5* instrument. I'm not even an acoustic player by default, but I do need one from time to time and my cheaper Yamaha FGX800C is just not cutting it. So I found this one. I was blown away by the reviews on Youtube from many, including Paul Davids, and was sold after reading other reviews here as well. The guitar is stunning to look at. Such a beautiful instrument and it does sound really good, but two issues I have with it that cause me to give it 4*'s. First is to activate the effects actuator, you have to press and hold the volume button, the middle button of the three on top. Now this isn't a huge deal, but the light is supposed to come on to tell you it's switched on, only the light is located on the actuator inside the guitar. It took me a good 45 minutes to figure this out as the buttons look like they have led's on them, but they don't. And when I first started playing I couldn't make out the effects, now a day later they are much more pronounced, so perhaps they needed some break in time, but still, having to look inside the guitar to locate an led is weird for a $1200 guitar. Secondly, and more importantly, there is not EQ controls or tuner on this guitar. My cheaper Yamaha FGX800C has such controls and it doesn't seem like it'd be that big a deal to have put such a control on this guitar. This to me is a big let down. Otherwise this guitar is great, more concert sized than I thought. I don't think anything mentioned that, but that's no big deal.

Product Review This is one of the nicest guitars I've ever had the pleasure of laying my hands on. Craftsmanship is second to none. This guitar is nicer than most Martins or Taylors for that matter. And the built in ACOUSTIC REVERB AND CHORUS TAKE IT COMPLETELY INTO IT'S OWN REALM. Out of ignorance I used to scoff at Yamaha guitars. But they are the best acoustics on the market IMO. This thing will absolutely blow your mind. Order one for yourself and see what I'm talking about. You have 45 days to return it after all... But you won't return it:)

Product Review The craftsmanship of this guitar is off the charts, pure beauty with great materials. I've never seen a guitar with maple binding, and beautiful abalone inlays, as well as solid rosewood and engelman spruce top on a price point like this. The transacoustic feature is also a plus! I put this guitar next to my Taylor 712ce, Martin HD-28,Larrivee OO40RW, and others and it's right there with them, maybe even cleaner put together. It's stunning for this price! I'd recommend changing the saddle and bridge pins. I just bought this to play around with the transacoustic,.but the sound is crisp, and has good sustain.wow, really impressed, and it's a Yamaha. Who would have thought!I'm now looking into some higher end Yamahas.

Product Review This guitar blows away my D28! It's a true pleasure to play; with No fret fatigue. AMS came through again with awesome packaging, detuned a full step for climate adjustment, and arrived 2 days earlier than projected. This Yamaha now takes the 'Best In Class' trophy.

Product Review Beautiful guitar with an excellent tone, even without the on board effects. Fit and finish is top notch. It is a bit heavier then a standard acoustic, but the setup was good to go right out of the box. The effects are fun to play with and I would easily stack this guitar up against guitars that cost a lot more then I paid for this one. Still love my Martin and other guitars I own, but I’m impressed with this Yamaha and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Product Review Well...as advertised...a spectacular guitar. The tone and quality of this LS-TA, Sunburst, has a tone and versatility that makes this guitar best in class. It made me a better guitarist. I bought mine with a minor blemish...and can't find the blemish! Thank you...it was delivered early and I use it with the TA off most of the time...and WOW! What a guitar!

Product Review I’ve owned Gibsons Martin’s and Taylor’s some that cost over $3000. This Yamaha is so ridiculous and fun to play that it’s a shame. It embarrasses the Gibson G45 (owned one), Martin OMC-1E (owned one) and any 3 or 4 series Taylor. Not in the same continent of discussion.

Product Review For a long time now I have wanted a guitar with a solid spruce top in this case engelmann and solid rosewood back and sides. This guitar plays beautifully and sounds great even without the trans acoustic features being used. I highly recommend it.

Product Review This guitar’s fit and finish is very good. The use of tone woods is excellent. This guitar sounds best when using its trans-acoustic feature, which I consider its primary selling point. When the guitar is played without TransAcoustic enhancement however it becomes a bit subdued. It isn’t very loud and projects it’s sound in a very average way compared to similarly made guitars. I suspect that the dreadnaught version may be louder and perhaps projects sound better in normal mode but don’t know as I haven’t played that version of the instrument. There are some issues I find a bit mystifying in a guitar with these quality tone woods used in its construction. Starting with why Yamaha insists on using super cheap plastic for the nut and saddle. The other problem is the frets. The fret wire seems very thin and a bit sharp. Because of that the frets are not particularly smooth on top and tend to bite a little. The guitar, “looks wise“ is very nice and is very playable but if Yamaha had just paid a little more attention to those three features, one wonders how much better it could easily have been. I like the guitar overall besides the points mentioned and in TransAcoustic mode I think it sounds fabulous. I would recommend based on that feature only.

Product Review I’ve been playing for over 20 years, played many different guitars at many different price points and I’m here to tell you that for a gigging musician who tries to keep a minimalist setup, this guitar by far will be the best bang for your buck. You can also count on a good quality tone, low action, & onboard effects. This guitar sounds great & makes me look forward to practicing again. This is truly the Swiss Army knife of acoustic guitars, thank you Yamaha

Product Review Well designed and executed. Excellent quality through out. Everything they say, is true about this guitar. The best neck I've played on a production guitar, since my 68' Gibson SG, no lie. The rolled edges make it seem not so wide, but it is, very comfortable all the way up the neck. You really can play this for hours, and hours, without fatigue. Pro set up out of the box, very impressed. Acoustically beautiful without the electronics, but with them turned on, it knocks it out of the park. There are several YouTube videos, please check them out. Love this guitar!!!
