Jackson Guitars
A Jackson guitar is meant to be played, and played hard. Each of their endorsers and players choose Jackson because they know Jackson builds their instruments just how they want them. Jackson's instruments are built to handle hard lives on the road, and are ready to take whatever players will throw at them - that's the just the way it is, and Jackson won't have it any other way.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Top quality maple and koa used, I'm a carpenter so I appreicate the love of wood. One comment would be the gold plated volume control knob is prone to wearing out quickly. When I first got my PC1 I took all the strings off to clean it and it through everything out of alignment so I took it to a guitar shop who set it up and I never did that again. Now I take one string off at a time, tune it then go on to the next one.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I'm living in the UK so my dad bought mine for £1700 back in London about 1998(still have the receipt somewhere) when I first saw it advertised in a guitar mag and I thought that's it. It's my first proper guitar though I can't actually play a full song and it has spent most of its time in the case, it never goes out of tune. I've recently starting playing again and hope to bring the beauty to life.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
It's like an Estwing hammer, meant to be used like a craftsmans tool and it will live forever!! I just need to learn how to play.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I warm up on my 1985 Takamine EN-20 which is big so that when the PC1 comes out my fingers glide along and find the srings easier. I clean it with string cleaner & guitar polish. My tutor says it's a very good guitar and he can play. I just wished I had his fingers.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Sounds great through my tutor's amp but mine is limiting the guitar's full potential. Still sounds awesome though. I use a Pandora PX3, Dunlop crybaby and Boss Delay pedal plugged into a Yamaha Budokan practice amp.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The maple quilted neck is aging slowly with a golden glow. The frets are solid no wear no issues. My fingernails have slightly scratched the fretboard but that's all. It has the koa body the varnish/laquer is thick & perfect. I have a tiny 5mm mark near the back end I made from the strap buckle but this beauty stills looks brand new. I may get the volume knob re-gold plated but not sure at the mo'.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
When unplugged it used to buzz on the low E string near the nut, which always bugged me for ages but now its gone. When amped up it didn't really noticed only you could hear it because of the close proximity. I've only changed the strings twice maybe three times in 15 years so that's good for me. The sustainer works perfectly and I changed the batteries last week noting their dates were 2006 so they must have been in there since 2003 about the time I stopped having lessons. If I were to win, I would like it to go to the Jimi Hendrix Foundation as I think that he would have loved this guitar.
