I have been eyeballing this bass guitar for quite a few years and finally pulled the trigger. Not only is the sleek profile esthetically appealing, the combination of the P base pick up and the jazz bass pick up allows you to hone your tone for whatever is best for a particular song. The construct is also quite a few pounds lighter than most bass guitars which is good for people who are active on the stage and have long sets. I've had this guitar for 2 months now I've gigged with it 6 times and I play it everyday and couldn't be more happier!

Great fretboard, lighter than my old Peavey Grind and quality pickups. The side dots could stand out a little bit more and remember the body is basswood and is sensitive to being dinged if handled roughly. Great looks and am very happy overall with this purchase.

I love the curves of the body, the smoothness of the neck allows me to move almost effortlessly around the fretboard. The tone is incredibly sexy! The hardware on the bass does an amazing job is staying in tune. If I had to make one critique, it would be that I would have loved to have had the output jack on the side of the body.

Fender Areodyne is a Sleek version of the Jazz Bass. This model is ready for battle as it comes. You can change from this to a Music Man Sting-Ray and this Bass holds it's place both in high quality sound and feel. The pickups are good as it comes. Very detailed sound and natural Fender Bass tone both are achieved.
We got this for studio use spare and it has become a favorite.

Product Review
Love J Bass tone but hate the 10lb shoulder load, this is the bass for you. It has 100% of that Jazz tone and punchy goodness, but weighs in at about 7.5 lbs.
The looks are sleek, the bass is very well balanced, no neck dive here. Traditional V-V-T controls deliver myiad tonal possibilities.
The neck has a smooth as silk satin finish and is very easy to play.

Product Review
This is the first bass I've owned. I'm transitioning from rhythm guitar to bass and wanted something that was great quality and easy to play starting out. I've played other basses and the weight and scale length was always a factor for me. I watched countless reviews and videos and the consensus all around was great. So I went for it and am not at all disappointed. Shorter scale feels great, neck is not painted so it's smooth to the hand. That Precision pickup just ROCKS the house man but the Jazz pickup equals our nice for a great time when you get your sound blended. No regrets, amazing.

After years of searching I finally found a bass that comes very close to my personal expectations of what I would like to see and feel in a custom bass if I was to design it. It's attention to detail surpasses any other product of its kind out there. Great Japanese craftsmanship and american design were put into the making of this fantastic bass, it exceeds any expectations I had of this great product. Very light comfortable and strong feel to it. Would like to see other colors and perhaps an active version of this bass in the near future.

I was looking for something lighter than my 85jazz or my 89 ric.. Both awesome guitars but very heavy when your playing 4 hour gigs. This beauty fits the bill! Much lighter.. But absolutely no compromise on sound or quality. Plays great.. Neck is comfy. Also the range of tone you can get from having both Jazz and Precision pick ups is really something my other sweethearts can't match. Bottom line... Worth the cash.. Delivery was good too. Arrived perfect and ready to rock. All I did was replace the strings. But that's preference.

Paint job like a Lexus, immaculate. Lighter than my Steinbergers. Because of the way it's contoured it's REALLY light. Replaced the pick ups with Lace Electronic PJ, changed the bridge with a Babicz and now it's as arguably as good as the best American Jazz bass, and a lot lighter. Remember it costs more to build in Japan than USA. This bass is stunning, pics here don't do it justice.

Absolutely flawless.
I love the black finish, matching headstock, and smoked chrome hardware. The gentle curve on the bridge makes me want to try playing it with a bow. (Not sure if it's enough of a curve, only one way to find out!)
It's very comfortable and easy to play.
Tone is very nice.
Perfect.
This is definitely worth the money.
The only setup I had to do was to flatten out the p-style pickups. The bridge is only slightly curved so there's no need to have them up at angles.

It;s a japanese made fender, at least mine is, so I'd say the build quality is on par with american made ones.
The fact that it has both p bass and j bass pickups is a great thing. Each has a separate volume control so you can blend between the two. The same pickups you get in a american made bass. It does have smaller body so it's lighter than other fender basses but doesn't lose much tone, if at all. They did give it the jazz bass neck which is great if you have smaller hands like myself.
It can sounds like either fender bass depending on which pickup you use. Blending the two pickups will really give a huge versatility of sounds. In my opinion, this is better than getting a p bass or a jazz bass.
Your general opinion of this product.
Fantastic.
The neck is easy to deal because of it being a jazz bass neck, if that's not bag then look further.
This bass can do either sound described.
The finish looked to be par with american made basses. The binding is an added plus.
Good, spot on nearly.

A real performer's bass

The quality is pretty good. However, the strat style jack came loose after a while and I had to tighten it down. After that tweak, no problems at all.
The P bass Pick ups and the J Bass Bridge pickups gives you the variety of tone combinations one wants in a good performance bass. The Jazz neck allows for fast playing.
OH that's why I got this bass, the comb p and J bass pickups are great. You get a choice of tones.
The bass is really nice and light great for those long sets and the neck is the right size for players with smaller hands as well. The controls could be tweaked a bit to allow for less confusion on what knob does what but they are easy to learn.
You name it you can get it out of this bass. Played through a good amp and you have a performance instrument that can cover the gamit of the music you want to play.
The black finish with the white trim gives it a real serious look.
The action was wonderful The set up was just what I wanted. With round wound strings I get the tone I want.

Quality is great. Expected no less from Fender (even if it is made outside of USA).
I love the finish, the dark stained neck with no fret markers and matching headstock. Sure she looks great but she has a fat sound too.
I can dial up all kinds of tone with the P/J setup. Sounds great straight out of the box. I may get Active Pickups in the future.
This bass is incredibly light. I tried out several bass guitars including a very heavy Gibson Thunderbird. Feels good on the neck. The neck has fast action too. Love it.
Tone is so good. I can get the Funk out of this bass with the Precision pickup or dial up some more Harder tones with the Jazz pickup.
This bass finish caught my eye immediately because it doesn't look like any Fender Jazz Bass I've ever seen so it stands out. I knew I wanted a Fender Jazz Bass but everything looked the same with the finishes and pickguards. My friends could believe it was a Fender.
Shipped in multiple boxes, this bass came in prestine condition (have received guitars in the past from other instrument stores with just the manufacturers triangular box and the edges are torn). I had to adjust the intonation on the E string but afterwards the action was great.

The overall quality of the guitar is great. It is made in Japan.
I love the neck, it's super fast. The bridge is junk, I replaced it with a Babicz full contact bridge.
Can dial in a wide range of tones with the p/j setup.
It's a very light bass, well balanced. Doesn't hurt your shoulders after hours of playing it. The controls are easily accesible while playing.
I eventually replaced the stock pickups with EMGs. They thickened the bottom end and gave it a darker tone. Now it's a greater sounding metal bass!
Beautiful paint job. It's a mean looking bass.
The action was a bit low. Had to adjust it to fit my playing style

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
The bridge is pretty low budget, but the rest of the hardware is nice. Very light and thin but feels very durable.
FEATURES:
I doesn't hurt that this bass looks like sex on a stick but it's best feature is the P/J pickup combination and the thinness/lightness
EASE OF USE:
So easy to use, there's no manual. Seriously, it's not an active bass so there's a P pickup volume, a J pickup volume and a tone contrl that affects both. It would be nice if there was a tone control for each pickup since while you can blend the tone of each pickups, you can't blend them with different tone.
VALUE:
This bass plays almost as well as a $1500.00 Tobias that my former bass player/collaborator owns and it sounds much fatter, thumpier, solid and rocking. I'm not saying it's a $1500.00 value, but it's worth more than the money it costs. When you consider that you get a light, easy to play and great sounding Precision AND Jazz b
