All things heavy...

Product Review Definitely "the sound in my head" for all things heavy. A second eq would be nice for a clean tone, but let's be honest, that is not the intended use of this amplifier. It's two channels of heavy and heavier, with normal and high gain inputs to satisfy all pickup output types.

Your general opinion of this product. ive been playing rock/hard rock and metal for over 25 years and never tried one of these. big mistake, it's an amazing sounding amp. i've owned marshall, mesa and even peavey jsx. none even hold a candle. the amount of useable gain is staggering. finally bought one and I'm pretty sure its the last amp ill ever buy. one more thing; the clean channel is very useable especially with effects. if you use active pups just back off the volume on your les paul a little. this amp is built like a tank. only had it for a week but I'm not worried about it breaking down. very heavy sounding. good stock tubes by ruby. controls are simple and easy to dial in a good tone. this amp sounds very dark, but you can use the bright switch to get a decent shimmery sound. not much action, it just sits there and screams!!! tolex looks good and durable, better than an orange or marshall. the corners are made of metal too unlike marshall that are made of plastic or mesa that are made of leather. ill let you know

Your general opinion of this product. An absolute ball buster when it comes to tone. Definitely need some sort of noise suppression because of the crazy amounts of gain, but as far as metal goes, buying anything other than a 6505 is a mistake. The overall quality is immaculate and the finish is great. The only downer is how much it weighs, but the fact that its heavy only makes your music heavier (lol) Any possible tone you desire can be found here. The only downer is that it does not have an EQ for both the clean and the distortion channel. They both share one set of EQ's, but for about 500 dollars less than the 6505+, I can deal. It sounds beautiful, but be prepared for a lot of gain. Perfect. Hands down. I've owned it for a few months now and it almost seems as if it sounds better now than it did at first. Definitely worth the buy!

The best amp out there by far quality wise tone wise and price wise. This amp can not only do the dirty metal djenty stuff it has an awesome clean channel as well I would prefer the 6505 over the 6505+ or any amp for that matter the two gain input makes the amp THAT much more versatile to fit any players preference! I love this amp This amp is a brick your not breaking it. It's beyond road worthy. Your general opinion of this product. Love the amp it's the greatest ever made DJENTY It does it all Very very well. Looks sick !

I'm expecting the 6505 to be the same beast of an amp as it's predecessor, the 5150. These amps simply hold up for a long time with very little care take, and if you really take care of your equipment like I do, this thing is gonna last even longer. Not to mention the factory warranty from Peavey is 5years of coverage and then AMS throws in an extra year of coverage for free! I've had this head for a couple of months and it's held up perfectly. I also have a 5150 that I've owned for about 7 or 8 years now, which is still in great condition with only taking basic care and maintenance through the years and I expect the 6505 to be the very same tank. Your general opinion of this product. I've read a lot of reviews on this amp. So, here's mine. I like the available controls for the 6505. The "Presence" and "Resonance" knobs add so much dimension to the sound aside from just the 3 band EQ. The Post and Pre Gain knobs also give a lot of play in the amount of distortion which is nice, because it gives a lot of diversity control. I can dial anything from a smooth wailing blues tone to a completely crushing metal tone even before using any pedals. I do wish that it had separate EQ's for each channel, but then again I didn't think it was too important which is why I didn't go for the 6505+. I've heard a lot about this amp being very noisy, which I have sort of mixed emotions on. The rig IS loud and produces quite a bit of hiss, but I don't have any trouble with feedback even at I've heard a lot of harsh comments about the clean channel on this amp that I don't think are too fair. I've also heard a lot of people try to justify it by simply saying that they bought it for the lead channel metal brutality or whatever, which I think is kind of a cop-out. My opinion on this is that if you're enough of a tone snob like I am you're probably gonna want a couple pedals like EQ and a TS9 in the loop to give you the extra headroom. I don't think there's an amp out there with every feature for every application out there straight out of the box, but there are some that will get you very close. Also to the ones complaining about the cleans lacking...if you're playing with EMG's, that's probably why and make sure that you're playing with a nice cabinet, a low end cab can really suck the life out of a nice guitar head. This amp pairs extremely well with Mesa's and most cabs with legitimate V30's. Not the new ones. And avoid buying the matching cab. Not the best. Probably the The tolex covering, knobs, grill, and panel are in perfect condition. This amp is extremely clean looking in my opinion. Since a guitar head doesn't really have "action". I'm gonna talk about the delivery process here. I wound up receiving 2 heads throughout the process, because the first one was damaged somehow. So this was a bit irritating, but AMS made taking care of that really easy. I emailed them and they got right back to me, telling me exactly what I needed to do and they sent a new one out on 2day ground for free as soon as the damaged one was scanned at the UPS drop off and when I got the new one it was absolutely perfect. I assume UPS must have dropped the first. I live in California and it shipped from Jersey, so there's a lot of things that can go wrong in between there.
