I have never used an MXR phaser, so I bought this based on the hype. Well I am completely satisfied. The other phasers I have used sounded too mechanical, colored the tone a lot, and the sound effect itself was just too harsh. Early in the chain this pedal creates a nice smooth wobbly effect that textures the tone without smothering it. I love it.

Over the years, I've had phaser pedal "shootouts" against my personal favorite, the MXR EVH phaser, every time something new comes out. Over and over, I've sent new ones back because they just didn't quite have the depth or the sweetness that EVH has. Well, I love being surprised; the Orange Box has that same vintage, chewy, swirl that really speaks to me. It sounds good with clean or distorted tones, doesn't require endless tweaking, and it's reasonably priced. Check it out.

Very well built. Hand wired board, true bypass and a bright LED.

Great phaser.
A slight adjustment of the internal pot counter clockwise yields VH, Pink Floyd and Zep tones.
