This kit was easy to assemble, doesn't take up much room and has really good sound quality! My son uses it to practice our band's songs at home during the week, while not fully silent, it's far less noisy than practicing on a shell kit, we use reaper as our DAW and EZ Drummer 3 from toontrack when recording and mapping to the Alesis is very simple, Def worth the money, but if your into metal than I suggest buying a set of double pedals if you don't already have a set

This drum kit provides a great way to get good drum tone and sound without making any noise on its own! Hook it up to a PA and you have an incredible room filling kit. Unplug the PA and you have training pads for every single item. Truly a new drummers or a drummer who can’t have a loud kits dream.

At best, this a kit to get a beginner looking to not make a ton of noise in the house. Non of the cymbals sound very realistic the Tom’s and snare are great quality sound wise, the kick feels good, but what really ruins it is the high hat. At this price point you’d expect the sounds to be better, and for it to at least have the “half open” option, instead of wide open or closed tight.

I think the product itself is good and I like the mesh heads on the drums but tech support on Alesis side is just not there. Non responsive despite multiple emails and calls. AMS was down to help but I was out of warranty so they had to pass me off. Great first drum set. I personally use it for midi tracking.

I’ve had these electric drums now for about 2 or so months and these by far are the best I’ve ever used when coming to electric drums. I play kinda hard and the drums have took the beating quite well. The overall concept of the drums are amazing. It was also easy to put together. I also love the red and black design! Awesome job! The sounds are amazing too, sounds like real acoustic drums to me! Overall this is a great product and I would recommend them to anyone.

I love the feel of the mesh on all of the heads. Feels like an acoustic kit. The command center allows you to set and customize all the attachments. The snare and toms also allow you to customize the rim so that you can creat the kit that suites your needs. Defiantly recommend this kit. Good bang for the buck.

This kit exceeded my expectations. I wanted an electronic kit so I could practice at odd times without disturbing the neighbors. I was reluctant at first to get an E-kit because I hate the feel of them but the mesh heads are fantastic. I get the same rebound and with the flexibility of sounds stored in the module, I have numorous sound capabilities. The structure of the kit is solid. It was easy to put together. Purchasing this kit is the best decision I've made this year. I highly recommend this kit.

I was a bit skeptical at first, as I have tried many other electric kits in this price range and always found them a bit gimmicky and cheap sounding. The Alesis Command Kit, however, was a refreshing change. The mesh heads feel great and have the perfect “rebound.” Probably the closest feel to real drum heads that you’ll get on an E-Kit. The hardware is very high quality and makes for an incredibly sturdy kit. The module is the star of the whole package. It offers very high quality preloaded kits and many customizable options. For those who prefer to drum on “the real thing” but can’t make a lot of noise, this kit is the perfect fit.

The pads still make some noise but its perfect for playing in your house/studio.

SO! I haven't played a kit in years... and I mean years!! These play better than I remember. From out of the box, its a breeze to set up and get jamming. Went through every tone and even made an adjustment for my personal kit in about 20 minutes. Connected my phone and found out how rusty I was, but how awesome these drums sound. You just cannot beat these drums for the price! Well... yes, yes you can! The Command Mesh Kit has gone above and beyond what I thought I'd be getting. From basic chops to complex patterns, these drums will not let you down! AMS has done it again with pricing and product!!

I purchased this kit about 8 month ago looking for a way to practice in my apt when i couldn't play my acoustic set. I got the kit and got a custom setting built to my liking and saved it easily. The kit was great at first, good sound, heads are pretty decent and responsive and overall it's super nice to play whenever I want.
NOW, here we are 8 months later. The kick pad mesh has started to breakdown and develop a small hole that i anticipate will only get larger (I should've put a kick pad on it earlier probably). Now to my BIGGEST issues. The 10" pad for the snare has become useless. I have to have the sensitivity turned all the way up and it has started not picking up about a third of the hits from sticks. I haven't attempted to contact Alesis yet because this literally started a week ago and I keep forgetting. The arm for the snare has stripped out and no matter how tight the snare slowly rotates to the side as you play requiring constant re positioning as you play.
In review I've been mostly happy with the set, if it was more durable it would be awesome. Again at this point I have not contacted Alesis because this has all happened fairly recently so I'm curious to see how their customer service is. In the future I may spend more money and do more research before buying Alesis again.

Do not buy. The Bass Drum pads are known for failure and Alesis is not in the business of replacing their defective parts with any urgency at all.
My Bass Drum pad failed shortly after purchase and I have been waiting OVER 2 Months for the replacement of the defective pad. As of today I still do not have it which makes the drums worthless.
The drums have been broken for nearly as long as they were good. Don't waist your money.

I got this set maybe two months ago and music say it does exactly as it's suppose to plus some. You can hook it up as a midi controller and running through your recording equipment and really trim it out or add different sounds. Sounds great, compact, easy to add more triggers and sounds. Very versatile set with a real drum kit sound. The pay as you go is great as well. This site is really awesome. Delivery was smooth and was even able to have FedEx hold it at the nearest one by my house so my drums weren't just sitting outside! Just awesome check them out.

the quality of sound and usability is far above what is expected at this price point. My church was struggling with less than perfect acoustics within the building and an acoustic drum set that even a shield could not damper. We decided on a budget and off I went in search of the perfect quality .....and the perfect price. Many items I have purchased based off price point have proven to be just that in the long run- just a good price. However, much to my delight, these drums are fantastic. The fully adjustable tension on each pad allows our drummers to get the feel of a their acoustics- and believe me- it has a very similar feel as to the acoustics. Sounds are well captured and accurate , also fully adjustable and editable. Quality is there and durability- price is no longer the selling point- the product is. You won’t be disappointed with this drum set.

I don't know how you could NOT rate this 5 stars just on price alone... I have to say I was skeptical last year when we purchased one of these for a summer show at a venue in San Diego, and my drummers were even more leery... but after playing on it I have to say we all were pleasantly surprised! And it held up so well after 66 nights of being beat on, that we will use the same set again this summer. There IS a known issue on some earlier models on how the wires come out of the sensor and we lost our kick drum twice before we got an updated design replacement (we bought two sets so we had a backup). Alesis was amazingly responsive in replacing both kick drums under warranty... and we had no problems with any of the other drums. My drummers all say that for $699 you can't beat the playability and the sounds (obviously they all wish I would spring for a $3000 set but thats not happenin-lol) We liked them so much I have just purchased two more sets for use in a different show this summer!

Roland is always known to take the cake when it comes to E-drums. This particular model of Alessis in no question competes with the Roland. All mesh heads, with the click and aux play along options. Its a great way to practice while not bringing the house down.

I needed a set to practice with at home since my existing drums are way too loud. I bought these because the price and after a little tweaking I can say I am more than impressed. The sounds are absolutely fantastic and they make my room look awesome. The chrome finish looks amazing and the reaction of the mesh triggers are fantastic. I absolutely love them.

I love this drum kit! Has over 600 presets! Hooks up directly into any daw! Easy to use touch pad and instructions included. Also allows you to upload music through usb to play along with and allows you to transfer through usb! Also, you can record right onto it and stores everything! The set up was extremely easy even though there were several pieces. I am also in love with the mesh heads! Oh! And I almost forgot my favorite setting! Sensitivity! It works flawlessly! And of course your volume levels are great and that is through the monitors and the headphones! The Marsha heads also make it a great for pick up and feel but also, playin with headphones! It really cuts down the noise! Alesis really outdid hemselves with these! All the features and The price is ridiculous!!! Under $900?!??? I had no other choice then to order one immediately, no joke, literally seen it in the catalog and ordered it online from my phone and got it in a couple of days! Insane! And I have played it everyday

Took about an hour to set up, not to big of a footprint, module sounds are not bad at all, you can load your own samples...nice, you can use external software (not done this yet). I very happy thus far with my Alesis Command Mesh experience. That said the cymbals could be better as far as feel and choke response. Time will tell but again.... happy thus far.

I wasn’t sure what I was looking for when I got this drum set but, I’m so glad I ended up getting this one. It’s so cool. You can pick a drum set for any genre you want to play. You can play pre loaded songs so you have something to practice to. You can plug in a USB drive and could play your bands MP3s/tracks so you can practice. Being able to add to the drum set is pretty cool too. Super easy to assemble. Really sturdy. The only thing.. I would make sure it’s on a rug or something like that because the kick drum and peddle and hi-hat peddle slide around. I’m just using it for fun and it’s perfect!

The mesh heads are a great way to play the drums. It makes playing easier on the hands. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to parts made of plastic. The hinges that hold the drums are made of plastic. Other than that it's a good drum for beginners.

This is a great product for the price and us exactly what i was looking for. Has tons of great built in sounds and easy to use. I was concerned at first because people who purchased the models slightly cheaper than this one seemed to have issues using a double pedal and the kick pad not registering all the beats. I use a double pedal with this and it works perfectly with no issues. Although it has pretty decent built in sounds for recording i use it as a midi controller for EZ drummer 2 using those sounds. Ive got 2 custom kits ive " built" and stored in the module and it was all pretty simple. Has 2 extra inputs to add another pad and cymbal or 2 cymbals or 2 more pads. All in all its great product for the price. I think the model 1 step down from this wouldnt really cut it for what i want and the model 1 step above this is more for professional use. I would definitely recommend for home recording or practice.

Easy to set up in a very short amount of time. I really like the feel of the mesh heads. Quiet when you don’t want to bother others. I used headphones for a bit of the time, and through an amp when I wanted to be loud. So any patches it’ll make your head spin. Oh and it compact enough to put it about anywhere.

This has many different characteristics that you normally get with higher end electronic kits. I really enjoy the many different drum kit sounds and the ability to tinker with the many settings that go along with it. Having built in songs to play along with also adds interesting ideas on playing with a band. All in all this is well worth the money paid and it is a great kit!

As a drummer my whole life I always wanted a alternative to my acoustic set at home, keep it in the monitors / headphones. I hit these like I’m playing my regular kit. HARD. Great buy, great feel with a very easy and in depth module. Buy it.

I have had this kit for a little over two weeks, and I haven't tried every feature on it, but so I love it! Set up was very easy, didn't even need the instructions. I had never played on mesh heads before, but they feel wonderful and response perfectly. The kits on the Command module sound awesome right out of the box, a little tweaking of the trigger and voice setting, and it's even better.
There are a couple of issues on my part, that why I only gave it 4 stars. The cymbal locks that keep the cymbals from spinning around can barely be adjusted, so it was a little tricky getting the cymbals positioned to my liking.
The other issue is with the midi out. I use Addictive Drums 2 with Pro Tools. I was able to get everything set up and tweaked, except for the Cymbal Chokes (they work fine with the kits on the module) After researching, it appears as though the Command module does not send the midi message needed for the chokes.
All and all, a great set and well worth the money.

I am not a drummer (at least not yet) - but have been looking to expand my horizons and understanding - particularly of rhythm.
I was about to purchase the kit just below this - after about a year of mulling over my choice between an Alesis and a Roland model.
I was on the verge of purchasing the Roland when the newer lower Alesis was released (at an amazing price). The mesh heads added convinced me to make the move - but then by accident I had to reprocess the order - and convinced myself, having had the chance to look further into this model, with full mesh heads and all - and made the decision.
I am extremely happy I did so. Again not being an expert drummer but a learner this comes from that perspective. But I could not be happier than with this purchase.
This is one amazing kit for this price.

Mesh pads are great, hardware is descent but the cymbals leave alot to be desired, very cheap plastic and really take away from the kit. The module is not worth the extra $200 alone and the sound of the kits are very electronic/digital sounding (I know, dah right!) however with a little tweaking the kit does come to life.
Alesis should have stepped up the cymbals for the extra $'s and a double kick would have been icing on the cake.
Great starter kit. It's been about a decade since I've played so I purchased this kit for fun and to see if I would have any interest in playing again. I quickly found the short comings and regret not getting an Alesis strike or Roland V-drum kit.
