Everyone has an opinion when it comes to microphones. And the jump to the next best doesn't get that scary until you hear a 4500$ Neumann m149.
Here I suggest the 4040. It has more "throat", just a broader carotid. When you are even remotely serious about your voice the upgrade difference here is well worth it!

Probably one of the best budget condenser microphones you can buy for under $200. The high frequency sound quality is crisp and clear, while still having a pretty solid low end presence. Also, the USB connectability is super convenient.

I actually bought this for my son for a Christmas present. He had it up and running in just a few seconds and I must admit, it does a very nice job of recording his playing and his vocals. Quality appears to be very good. Time will tell, though.
