I’m a guitar player, new to pedal steel.
I experimented with a few tunings and settled on C6 tuning.
The nut and bridge needed a bit of filing to keep he thicker strings in place, but that’s an easy and expected fix.
The sound is pure lap steel. No build issues or quality issues at all.
Very happy with the Epiphone Electar.

After having the Epiphone Electar Century lap steel guitar for nearly two weeks, we find the design and appearance to be striking - beautiful! Though it's our first lap steel guitar and haven't anything to compare it with side by side (therefore 4 out of 5 stars given), there isn't anything we dislike about it. The sound is good, the construction is fairly good, the bag is well-made, and it all seems to be durable. This guitar exceeds our expectations for the price, and we are very satisfied! Thank-you AMS and Epiphone!

I found this LAP to have great aesthetics and wonderful sound. It takes a bit to get used to aLAP but it is a neat instrument. A Dawg slide works great with this EPI.

I bought this slide steel to play some Hawaiian music, and it handles beautifully. The tuners hold well, and the pickup is warm. I added some reverb and took off to the islands. Get one of these today and you won't be dissappointed.

This Epiphone lap slide is just amazing, especially for beginners. It practically plays itself and for the price? Over all I say ITS SMOOTH LIKE BUTTER! I highly recommend.

Good guitar for the price. Perfect for lap steel beginners like myself. Plug and play. One caveat...
Crap strings are common with factory-fresh guitars, of course. Usually all the strings sound awful. For this model, out of the box, tuned to C6, actually got decent sound on the wire strings, wound strings wouldn't stay in tune and sounded like soccer balls being kicked. Strongly suggest simultaneously getting new strings when you purchase this guitar (I got GHS lap steel C6, not available through AMS (hint, hint), but Amazon or Reverb has them). No issues since.
