I've had my Taylor 614CE Grand Auditorium with the Taylor Expression pickup in it for almost 14 years now and never was pleased with the EQ options with the pickup. Solo/acoustic, it was fine because it had a nice "warmth" about it and made my sound more "full," but performing with my band and/or other musicians, it would "muddy" up the sound and would never "cut through" like I wanted it to. I tried various pedals and other EQ'ing options, but nothing every worked to get the sound like I wanted it to. Another problem I had was it had ZERO percussive capabilities for my looping shows.
A fellow musician recommended the Fishman Matrix Infinity, and after weeks of researching various pickups, I decided to go with it and can't be more happier! I can get a "kick drum" sound out of my acoustic now, if needed, and the blending option allows me to get various effects/sounds I never had an option to get out of my old system.
I would HIGHLY recommend this pickup for any guitar!
