If you can't get it done with one pickup, you're not going to get it done with two. I've had the guitar for about 2 months now and I absolutely love it. With only 1 pickup you have to use the tone and volume knobs more to get different tones and it makes you think about what you are doing more. The neck on this is the perfect size, I HATE skinny necks, and this one is nice and thick. The build quality is excellent. The finish is perfect. This is guitar 15 currently in the collection and it is a keeper.

A lot of guitar for the money

I received this guitar over 3 months ago and I love everything about the guitar.
The chunky neck, tones from the P 90 and the look and feel of the guitar. It's been my #1 guitar since I received it.
My one regret, I didn't buy a Les Paul Junior decades ago.

The guitar is beautiful and sounds even better than I expected. The neck is nice and thick and is very comfortable to handle. The sounds that you can achieve with just 2 knobs and this single dog-ear are so versatile. Whether you love Les Pauls or telecasters, this would be a great addition to your collection.

If you're looking for the P-90 growl of the 70s with masters like Leslie West and Joan Jett, this is the one. The warmth of mahogany coupled with the cutting brilliance of a single coil, makes this a no frills rock machine. It is professional and affordable. Absolutely not to be overlooked by any level player.

Sounds awesome in an overdriven tube amp, distortion or fuzz pedal. There were a few slight cosmetic issues in the finish, but it really gives it character. Set up good out of the box.

Gibson QC a continued disappointment

Would love to give this 5 stars as I really do love this guitar, but Gibson QC has no apparent signs of getting back to where it should be. Nothing major enough to make me return/replace, but enough to very much bother me on a $1,6000 guitar. The guitar itself is great, it sounds fantastic and gives enough versatility through the tone knob. Worth noting it has a very chunky neck, but was easy to adjust to.

Product Review
Love this guitar. Nice chunky neck. Beautiful Tobacco Burst Finish.
Heavy, solid feeling guitar.
Fret were a little gritty, but polished up nicely using my Nomad fret polishing kit. Fretboard was dry, but looks nice after hitting it lightly with
mineral oil. It seems as though Gibson sends their guitars out with dry fretboards on a consistent basis.
It plays well and is easy to rock out with. It is an inspiring guitar to play my favorite genres; Blues, Rock and a little bit of Country.
The pickup and tone pots are well matched. You can get it to sound pretty gritty and snarly, but back off on the volume knob and she sweetens up. The pickup does cover the bases, but am a huge fan of Wolfetone P-90 pickups and have a P-90 Meaner pickup ready to be installed.
I really like this guitar and have only had it a few days. But I have a lifetime guitar here.
I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a solid axe that will cover a lot of bases sound wise.

This is the fourth Gibson I have owned, and I have to say this is the guitar that checks all the boxes for me. Just volume and tone knobs...that's all you need with this single P90 Pickup guitar to play a variety of musical styles. From Country, Blues, Punk, and Metal...this guitar has you covered. I play slide on it and it is fast and easy to dial in the tone I want. The sales staff and customer service at American Musical Supply is second to none. That's why I've been a customer of them for over 10 years.

The Perfect Guitar

Gibson has really stepped it up for 2022. I’ve owned a couple of Juniors between 2005-2012. The quality and detail of this new 2022 model is beyond amazing. They come set up from the factory pretty good and secure in the classic brown hard case. I’m nothing of an advanced player or anything (mostly 70’s punk and 70’s Powerpop influenced) but this Junior feels amazing with the chunky neck and the P90 screams when you want it to, I believe You can literally do anything with this Junior and I love it dearly. Highly Highly recommend!

Gibson Q.C has let me down

Product Review
The guitar came to me with imperfections in the paint ( un-buffed compound, and gouges in the finish on the neck) The fretboard was not consistently planed, and there was glue seeping out from the frets themselves.
Overall I’m extremely disappointed that Gibson let the guitar leave the bench in the condition it did.
I’m not returning the guitar, but instead paying a luthier to fix the imperfections.

The Les Paul Junior stands unique in the Les Paul line-up. The Les Paul Junior has a sound that is all its own, with the combination of a single P-90, one tone and one volume. With focus on the instrument, the player finds different sounds with the adjustment of volume and the tone with its orange drop cap. You don't just flip a switch for a different sound, the player adjusts to make the sound their own. You can dial in perfection or run wild and wide open and see what you can achieve. The Les Paul junior sounds like you.

Purchased a 2020 LP Junior in ebony from AMS. Arrived with chipped and bubbling paint at the neck joint. Can't believe any respectable quality control engineer would allow this out of the factory. Having purchased a 2019 Les Paul Special last year through AMS, I thought Gibson had turned the corner!
And although AMS has a great return policy, I can't purchase another until the guitar has been inspected and credited to my account. So 5-7 days before I can reorder!
Total Disappointment! Looks like my Gibson buying days at AMS are over. Never had a problem with my Fenders!

Very nice little guitar. The quality of the instrument is awesome. The case it came with is super nice. It was set up excellently at the factory. It even came with a picture of the guitar taken at the factory while it was being set up. The also included a nice little multi tool and polishing cloth. Really good attention to detail. The sound of the guitar is great. It's exactly what I was looking for when I bought it. I play in a few different cover bands and play a lot of different music. This guitar gave me the different sound I needed and couldn't get from my Telecaster, ESP, or Schecter guitars.

I love this guitar. That new guitar smell when I opened the case. The fit and finish across the board is why I will have my LP Junior until the end. Somebody close to me will inherit this guitar and be amped about it.
Been happy every time I’ve plugged this undressed beauty in. That dog ear P90 tone is just Rockin. I chose black. She looks grand. Worth every penny, this one’s a keeper. Rosewood fretboard feels lovely even digging the chunky neck. This guitar sounds great. The simplicity of the instrument sells itself. The terms of my agreement were reasonable and delivery was prompt. Happiest I’ve been in a minute when I opened this box from American Musical. I’m going to go practice. Thank you AMS.

I bought this as a gift for my mentor. Played it and changed the knobs. This thing is really nice. Good color, way better that the past 20 years of jrs. Played better than any other new guitar in recent memory. Neck is chunky yet comfy. P90 is nice and the volume and tone controls have perfect taper and versatility. If you’re not a stickler about 3 in line tuners and the color being leaning slightly more melody maker burst then it doesn’t get much better.

My first P90 guitar but it won’t be my last! Checked out a couple of vintage Juniors and a couple of Custom Shop reissues looking for that old school Jr thing, but I couldn’t justify the prices. So when Gibson brought back these Juniors with vintage specs at a reasonable price I had to add pick one up.
It’s a medium to lightweight slab body and the neck has that fat 50s style shape that fills your hand but with the wrap around bridge and low action, the guitar has a slinky feel and is easy to play. I plugged into my vintage Tweed Champ and the P90s roar with straight ahead rock n roll attitude, like a Tele bridge pickup on steroids!
I didn’t have any intonation issues and the guitar played well right out of the box so thanks to AMS for the top shelf service.
I’m so impressed by the new juniors that I’m already eyeing a new LP Special cause I can’t get enough P90 action!

Product Review
I’ve always been a Fender guy. I never had much interest in Gibson guitars. Les Pauls and SGs aren’t really my style, and with some of the horror stories you hear about Gibson quality, I never had any intention of buying one. Now LP Juniors and Specials are different. I’ve always dug their look, but prices on vintage models are not a possibility for me. Enter the 2019 lineup. I bought this guitar and it has changed me. Sounds silly, but it’s true. AMS has been a go-to for me for quite some time now, and their payment plans make things possible that might not be otherwise. This guitar is absolutely beautiful. The finish is flawless, it was playable right out of the case. I did put locking caps on the bridge posts to eliminate the forward lean on the bridge, but other than that, this thing is awesome. The volume and tone controls allow for so much shaping of your sound, super usable from 1-10. The P90 has OOOOMPH for days, but cleans up nice too just by dialing the volume back a bit. It’s such a simple guitar in terms of electronics and design, but it’s one of the most versatile I own. I haven’t played any of my other guitars, except for the 2019 LP Special I bought too. I still love Fender, but I’m so happy I decided to stray a bit. It’s really changed my outlook on playing guitar, I’m excited again and I didn’t realize that I haven’t felt that in years. I’m like a kid again, I can’t wait to get my hands on this thing when I get home. One other thing, the “Gibson smell” is a real thing, and it’s wonderful. I read in a few places that it’s the glue they use to assemble the cases, others say it’s the nitro. I don’t know but it’s intoxicating. Sounds creepy but those who know, know what I mean. Buy this guitar today!!!

Very nice simple guitar has old world craftsmanship to it action is set very low and the fretboard is perfect there are absolutely no flaws in this fret board never felt anything like it 2019 model year has medium jumbo frets instead of the low treated ones from 2018 it takes a week or so for the fresh liqueur smell to fade away I look forward to playing this as much as possible very inspiring
