The neck is built so perfectly and fret work so level I was able to get the high E action to 0.02 and the low E to 0.03 with no fret buzz. The iced tea nitro finish is amazing. The flame Maple top is advertised as a 2A but is easily a 3A. Gibson is doing everything right these days. The AMS sales department is fantastic and their customer service is second to none. This is by far the best Les Paul I have ever owned out of many. If you don't buy one of these you will regret it forever. Now let's make some music.

The fit and finish of this guitar is nearly perfect. The guitar plays like a dream. Setup out of the box was good however i adjusted it for my own playing style and lowered the action. This guitar has exceeded my expectations as i was thinking I might have to take it to my luthier to fix things that Gibson QA might have missed but to my pleasure it was awesome out of the box. Thanks to AMS and their payment plans, ownership of this dream guitar is a reality. I love AMS.

I was so excited to finally get a Gibson Les Paul. I’ve looked at multiple places and could not get approved for financing anywhere. I came to AMS and got approved in minutes! I love this Les Paul Standard. My guitar has it all, the sound, looks, feel and quality of a fine musical instrument. The guitar has an amazing tone and an acoustic resonance that vibrates throughout the entire guitar. I don't just hear it, I feel it and it makes the experience so much more enjoyable. This was my first guitar purchase through AMS and I will definitely buy a guitar from AMS again. AMS allowed me to pick my guitar from a wide variety of stock including the weight and serial number. Other online retailers only display a few options, but AMS shows up to 8. The Rock Star credit/payment plan is a great option as well, all without the hassle of opening a store credit card. On top of that, AMS Customer service is second to none and always willing to help make things right. If you are looking for a Les Paul, this is the place to get one.

Fit and finish is impeccable, as well as the playability. Nothing needs replacing! The pickups sing and it stays in tune just fine. I wouldn’t even slap in locking tuners, there’s simply no need. I highly recommend everyone to pick up one of these Les Pauls for themselves, AMS does a great job photographing their guitars, what I received is what I got and you just can’t beat their rockstar payment plan option. It’s always smooth going through AMS, they never disappoint!

It's a les paul standard. Nuff said. American Musical has been nothing short of awesome to deal with. They make it very easy to order your gear, and the customer service is second to none. I'm normally leary about buying high end instruments sight unseen, but AMS puts those fears to rest. I won't buy my gear anywhere else.

I have had this guitar for about 2 months now. Everything is as it was described on this website. Gibson never goes wrong with a product. I really liked the tone I can get out of this Les Paul. This guitar is comfortable to play. The guitar is heavy, but I love it. Great versatility and a crispy-crunchy tone. It met and exceeded my expectations. The only thing I don't like is that the neck is a little too thick where the neck attaches to the body, but nothing that bad; just a little thicker for what I am used to. Overall, 98/100.

Received this and was excited at first at how well the guitar played right out of the box. Sounded great, felt great. On inspecting the guitar finish work though, I discovered several dots on the body where the binding finish work was extremely poor. Ridges, cracks where the binding was both not flush with the body and/or unfinished. More than cosmetic issues, these were the sorts of defects that would likely have continued to worsen over time, further damaging the build.
I have a 2017 Les Paul Classic where the finish work is top notch and which I used to compare against. For a guitar at this price level, a Standard, I expected the finish quality to meet or exceed my Classic. Returned for refund.
I’m only recommending this product because the playability and tone of the guitar were what I expected and folks who don’t care if they’re playing what looked like a factory blemished model would very likely enjoy it regardless. I’m just not that guy.

I was hesitant about buying gibson after some of the reshaping of the company, but I decided that I would give it a shot. When my Les Paul standard arrived I could not believe the quality that came with this product. It was far superior from what I expected. No rough edges, no buff marks on the back, no fret work problems, it was just what I wanted. The finish waa perfect and the top was unbelievable. Well enough about my Les Paul, Just buy one you won't be disappointed.

Overall the craftsmanship is of high quality... the only issue I have is the neck nut, which is not as smooth with the neck as it should be. Otherwise, the rest of the guitar finish is top notch. I have other high end guitars with similar neck nut issues. So, it does not bother me at all. I did not like the stock strings. They felt like 9 or 10 gauge strings that sounded tinny to me. I know they were Gibson's strings. I installed D'Addario light jazz gauge strings (12-52) and it made the guitar sound much better to my ears. I play it almost daily in my efforts to love this guitar. My biggest complaint is the lack of a master volume. Fiddling with two different volume knobs is not my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong. This is a nice guitar. However, with that said, I would rather play my Gretsch guitars. Time will tell : - )

This LP is amazing! Fit and finish is superb! Intonation was perfect and it plays like a dream. I changed the strings and oiled up the fingerboard and have hardly put it down since. The flame top is beautiful! The pics on the site didn't do it justice. It came in two days and was securly packaged. Do yourself a favor, pull the trigger and get one you won't regret it

This guitar is outstanding. Everything about it-fit, finish, sound, playability-are all top notch. This guitar plays effortlessly. So much so that I measured how it was set up and began setting up my other guitars to the same specs! I haven't changed my own specs in a long time, but this guitar just felt so good in my hands. I was lucky enough to get one with a good amount of flame on the top, so it looks great too. Ordering from AMS was effortless, and I'm close enough to their warehouse to get free next day shipping. Lastly, this guitar has some pretty cool extra goodies that I won't spoil for for you.

I've been playing this guitar daily since receiving it in early July 2022. Gibson really nailed it with this traditionally wired, non-weight-relived Les Paul. Very resonant, even when unplugged. I love the 60s slim taper neck and the Grovers provide fine tuning stability. The rosewood fretboard is nice and dark. The Unburst finish is stunning and really stands out. AMS shipped promptly and the guitar arrived well protected and in perfect condition. Setup out of the box was perfect for me, and the intonation was almost spot on! 5 stars!!!

It might not have been made in 1960 but it feels damn close. No set up required, it plays beautifully. A little heavy but well worth lugging it around. From growling tones to a softer jazz like resonance this guitar runs the gambit. It have become my main Gibson that I play daily.

Love that AMS let’s you pick out the one you like the most by providing pictures and weights. I got one with a fantastic almost quilted top, looked even better in person and 8lbs 5oz. Weighs the same as my “weight relived” Studio so easy on the back. Everything was flawless on this guitar from the fret work, the finish, hardware and the setup. Also sounds amazing as well as plays great. The 60’s thinner neck and hotter than the 50’s pickups have all the character you could want from a Les Paul. These pickups are definitely a litter hotter, but not like 498T’s. A great middle ground for those wanting a little more output that the usual PAF clones. They are complex and dynamic through my Princeton and can scream through my Mesa Boogie. The JC era of Gibson has made some great changes through QC and their product line. Buy one of these now, you won’t regret it.

I have owned many les Paul’s in my time including a custom shop 56,and 59, (good wood) 1996 classic plus and a 1973 Custom. This standard holds its own with all of them. The fretwork is great the neck shape is much like my old classic but with just a bit more meat to it, which is an improvement. I really like the burstbucker 60s they are between the 57 classic and 498 in my opinion. They sound great. I can’t find a flaw in the guitar at all. The binding is great the finish is impeccable and it plays fantastic. I feel like Gibson has got there mojo back big time.

These Standards can fill the void for those who can't drop the money on a Custom Shop reissue.
I had the 50's Standard and even though it's a Great Les Paul, the neck profile fits my comfort level on my new 60's Burbon Burst.
Picked this up less than a month ago and it came with the peace of mind that AMS offers a No Worries" return if your not happy.
There were 6 to choose from so I got one with a pretty nice Flame top without spending more money for the AAA Top Standards.
Thanks to AMS for getting me a guitar that will last a lifetime.

The new Standard 60s that I received was was being waited for like a scene in a movie when parents are waiting for a stork to bless them with a bundle of joy. Well the stork for me was gruff lookin FedEx driver that was delivering my new Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s. After it was delivered I placed it gently before me and began to unwrap the newest member of the family. So, you know those movies when you expect to see elation on the face of the actor after they open something up but instead it turns to the face of horror, well, that was me. As I opened up the the lid of the case I saw bits of gold flakes and plastic. It was the volume knob that had been smashed. I then looked at the case and the bottom of the case appeared to be damaged. After pulling picking up the pieces and placing them in a bag i played the LP and it was amazing but had obviously been knocked around too much for me to keep. It was tough though, the low end on this guitar was hypnotizing and the highs were like blissful chimes that rang clean yet without shrillness. The weight is amazing and the thus the sustain is like the Energizer Bunny. Anyway, I called AMS, they offered a replacement but I wouldn't be able to choose the serial number for the replacement, so I would have no idea what it looked like; I want to choose what guitar I am buying. So now I have a prepaid return shipping label in my email and a trip to the "stork" in my future. It's very unfortunate that this guitar was not packaged better because it is an amazing sounding guitar. I am buying another one.

I have a lot of great guitars that I will probably keep for the rest of my life. Others, come and go. For me, the Les Paul Standard is something I've wanted for essentially my entire life.
The current versions are wonderful instruments and I am very happy with the "Unburst" finish. I picked out a very light (by Gibson LP standards) example and have enjoyed it for a few weeks now. It is the only guitar in my small collection that satisfies that "bucket list" need for an American icon.

I bought my les paul 60s standard a couple of weeks ago and I cannot put it down. The fit and finish are flawless; the tones are thick, smooth and amazing. It plays well with amp overdrive.
As for AMS there is none better. Sweetwater tries, but they just end up calling at inopportune times and are annoying. AMS on the other hand honored a typo on their website and still let me choose the guitar I wanted. Absolutely amazing and unexpected. Thank you AMS for a perfect guitar and perfect customer service. As I'm sure you know, I'll be back for yet another guitar soon.

The intonation is spot on and the finish is absolutely beautiful... so much more beautiful in person. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone. Folks no B.S. AMS had it to my door the next door. I know it can't happen for everyone or me everytime but that was amazing. Then I pulled this thing of beauty out of the box and was completely shocked. I used to own a 2013 les Paul traditional with issues but it seems Gibson stepped up the quality because this guitar great. I haven't been able to put it down. Gibson and AMS knocked it out of the park.

From its slimmer neck to the 12 radius neck, this beautiful Les Paul is an enjoyable guitar to play. I opted for the unburst and couldn’t have been more right in my choice. It’s gorgeous just sitting in there waiting to be adored, but mainly waiting for me to play when I get home from work. The action is faster than my 50’s version, but still packs the chimes and crunch when I need it. Even unplugged it’s still a great guitar to play. I am not a professional just a avid player when I get the chance. So if you are looking to emulate your favorite hero from the 60’s or 70’s look no further than this one to start with. I wanted to have a Gibson Les Paul for ever, the 60’s it’s perfect in every way, looks gorgeous, plays amazing, sounds amazing.
I had an issue with the first guitar I got, sent an email to AMS and they gladly helped me out, they looked for the best solution for me, and at the end they sent me a new guitar, even went to their warehouse for a double check before sending it to me.
Guitar is perfect.

Great guitar as far as build quality goes. But upon receiving the guitar in person the only angle you can see the flame in the pickguard side is one specific angle. Under normal lighting it just doesn't show up. So disappointing there as the pictures of the serial number o. The website was amazing compared to what I got. Other then that love the weight the sound and the feel. Which I suppose is the most important part.

An amazing guitar and I'm so glad I didn't get one until Gibson got back on track in the past year and a half or so. The guitar was beautifully finished with no issues whatsoever of any kind. She's almost 10 lbs and sustains for days. I have an Epi Plus Top that I LOVE. I completely gutted it and after changing all the pots to CTS with no load tones, orange drops, 50s wiringz, a tusq nut and a pair of Seth Lover's I thought I had at least 7/8th a Gibson but after having the Gibson now for a few weeks I know I had maybe half a Gibson. There's something truly special going on that I didn't expect and am not sure what is causing it but am beyond happy to have been able to experience.
I never expected to have the guitar match the hype but it does and then some.

I was looking for a different guitar to round out things and maybe get rid of some others, and a few months ago the time to pull the trigger came around. Since I have an SG, I figured my Gibson fix was quelled and something like a telecaster would be the right move.
However, an advertisement for a Les Paul Trad Pro V sale on Guitar Center caught my eye, and it seemed like quite a good deal. Talking to a guitar playing friend, I remarked that I liked the Classic quite a bit more than the Trad Pro V, and would consider that instead. Naturally, I began looking at everything else, and it kind of went in that same pattern from there.
I haven't played many Les Pauls, mainly Epiphones in the only music shop around here. From what I saw and heard of these though, I was hooked. Maybe it was just listening to too much Jimmy Page and Joe Walsh lately, but when I found the right looking one I couldn't pass it up. I was a bit worried not being a Les Paul guy, but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised.
Aside from the strings which were quickly replaced with 11s, everything was right. Even with 10s, out of the box it played beautifully, it just felt right over my shoulder and in my hands. Plugging it in, I thought my SG sounded nice before, but this was something new. Everything was much broader, a lot sweeter than I expected. I haven't really stopped playing it since.
Now, there were some problems other people might have sent it back for. When I picked it up out of the case, one of the metal plates on the knobs fell out. I don't care for the reflector knobs anyhow and will replace them, but even if I did a quick dot of glue would fix it. Much to my dismay later I noticed that the hard case had a separation in the seem along the bottem edge. I've been trying to resolve this, but I love the guitar so much I couldn't return the thing just for the case. It's been frustrating, particularly dealing with TKL, which is the only reason for my four star review. In every other respect, notably the guitar itself, its a five. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this guitar.

Gibson got everything right this time. No robot tuners, no weight relief... just a perfect Les Paul. This guitar is fantastic. I used to own a 2016 Les Paul Standard T and this one is light years ahead. The pickups are too hot for my taste and I replaced them with low-output Gibson BB @1 and #2, but otherwise the guitar is perfect. I also own a 2020 1950s Standard and it is as great as this. Lovely guitars. Gibson is really back!

I love this 60's Les Paul guitar! I purchased the Iced Tea model and it looks great and sounds even better. The Grover tuners look sharp and the '61 pickups produce a gnarly sound that only an American-made Gibson Les Paul can make. This is my third Les Paul Standard and I am very happy with my purchase. 60's Standard in Unburst... beautiful flame top, could pass for AAA top on the particular example I picked out, which is one of the great things about being able to pick a specific serial # w/ pictures ahead of time. Fit and finish is A+, setup from factory was more than acceptable, and the sound is extra crispy in the best of ways. I have owned other Gibson Les Paul's in the past, and this one is definitely special. I can't wait to get home everyday to play it!

I've had this guitar for about a week now. It's already set up and ready to play. The action is set perfectly; the craftsmanship is incredible. The neck is like butter, and your hand seems to glide across the fretboard effortlessly. I also love the vintage tone you get from this guitar. The smell of the lacquer is just icing on the cake!

This Les Paul standard is the next best thing from a custom! Definitely player grade, I had to do a few adjustments (lower the pickups mostly) but everything was done with the highest of quality. Yes it isn’t one from the 60s but it’s as close as you’re going to get!!!
I’ve been playing an Epiphone “les paul” for more than 5 years switching over to this one made my life easier with playability so now I can focus more on the creativity aspect of music!!!

I was shocked when I opened the box and took out this gorgeous guitar case! I could hardly wait to open the case and when I did my mouth dropped open at just how beautiful this guitar not only looked but how it was made! This was a gift from me to my husband on the 22nd of July and I knew he was going to smile like never before! When he opened this gift last week I could see the child in his eyes and I knew I gave him something amazing! This guitar sounds unbelievable and the tone is wonderful. Received my Gibson Les Paul standard 60s Open the case and was amazed at the craftsmanship in the playability one thing to note the fretboard needs conditioning not a big deal the rest of the guitar is flawless right out-of-the-box action intonation some minor fret buzz but A turn of the truss rod took care of that the sound is absolutely amazing burst bucker 61T and 61 r they sound great clean when you overdrive them they have clarity and bite. I am very happy with the Guitar Gibson has redeemed themselves and are putting out exceptional guitars I also own the Les Paul 50s And that Guitar is awesome Gibson is back.

Craftsmanship of a Gibson is out of this world. Everything is so refined. You can tell true quality when you see and feel the guitar. The only 2 things that it needed was string height adjustment on low E with slight intonation tweak and a small adjustment to pickup height to balance pickup output. I have owned this guitar for 5 or 6 months and it meets all of my expectations. Plays awesome, sounds awesome and looks incredible. I get so many compliments on the unburst finish its crazy. I will definitely be purchasing another but this time in tobacco burst. It’s a Gibson Les Paul nothing more you need to say. But I will: Whatever Issues Gibson had previously have apparently been remediated because this guitar came flawless and ready to play. After a fresh set of my favorite strings I couldn’t put this down. It looks more beautiful then even in the pictures. It plays unlike any other guitar or Les Paul I’ve ever played, like melted butter baby. It sounds absolutely amazing cleans are crisp and full and when distorted it’s everything you want it to be and more, just a nasty cream machine. I feel bad for my other guitars because they haven’t gotten any playing time since Christiana arrived. Named the guitar after my late brother who died just the week before (Christian) so she’s been helping me cope. I leave the guitar out in my living room with an amp so I can look at it all day and play whenever I have a few minutes and since this Coronavirus ... I have a lot of minutes. I own other Les Paul’s tributes/studios but this is the pinnacle. I can’t wait to start playing shows again with it. Just and absolute work of art and fantastic rock machine. The unburst is so awesome glad I chose that color. I had high expectations, and they were met. First time I’ve spent over 1K on a guitar. I wanted something special, and I got it. I must admit, there were doubts stemming from Gibson’s past issues, but this is my 2nd Les Paul, both from AMS, and they’re both perfect.
Unboxed, tuned up, plugged in and Bam... sounds amazing! Set up is perfect, neck is comfortable, and seems a bit faster than my LP faded. Frets ends are smooth. Action is right on for me. Didn’t even have to adjust pickup height. Perfect.
Does owning a more expensive guitar make you a better player? Yes... yes it does.

The guitar is great! Plays and sounds amazing. However, on the website it said same day shipping. It took 3 days for it to ship. I called customer service and they did fantastic, but someone needs to fix the website and clarify that this guitars and others like this one are a custom order and that it can take a couple of days to process and ship. Gibson has got it going on now ! The 1960 Bourbon Burst I purchased is an awesome throw back to exactly what Gibson was known for. Smooth playability and Roll the Volume forward for that power driven overdrive. AMS is my go to place for a Guy like Me to Own a Guitar like this !
Super cool Guitar and Amazing Les Paul tone.
Worth every penny. THANK YOU AMS !

Was a little worried that the guitar wouldnt be great cause of what ive been hearing and witnessing with gibson lately, but the guitar sounds toooo good. The stock pickups have plenty of firepower, the neck feels great, the weight and dispertion are great amd its just such a well rounded bad to the bone les paul

I purchased a minor blemish item. When it arrived it had a few other issues. The switch won't stay in the rythm position and the high E string made a buzzing sound. I called AMS and they were very helpful in resolving the problem. It's like getting a rescue dog and falling in love with it. We might have a few things to work on but it's a beautiful guitar.

Got this a couple weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. The top is absolutely beautiful and the pickups just straight SING. The fretwork is superb, fast & slim neck profile & the action is juuussst right. The Grover tuners are a nice addition too. I think the most surprising part about this guitar was the weight...SO LIGHT! Was also pleased with the "case candy". Even came with a photograph of her on the builders bench. So cool. Overall, this is beautiful & fantastic sounding guitar that just feels right in my hands. Super happy! Glad to be part of the fam.

What a les Paul should be, sound like , play like and smell like. The bridge pickup could use a little more heat but overall 5star guitar. I wish they didn’t install the pickguard at the factory. Amazing top, flawless binding work, neck came was straight out of the box and in tune. Great job Gibson

Took a chance on a new Gibson after all the huff about how they haven’t been the same for years.
I’m not a snob about vintage gear. I almost prefer to get new gear and break it in myself and know it’s only been mine.
This guitar blew me away right out of the box! Quick tune and it was ready to go! I don’t really feel the need to get it set up since it plays exactly how I like. Maybe after the coming winter I’ll have it checked out but I can’t say anything feels off at the moment. The pick ups are nice and hot. The neck feels perfect in my hand. I choose the 60s for that reason alone. I like a thinner neck. The iced tea finish is super pretty.
The only thing was the neck was a bit dry. That changed after a few weeks of playing it. Most likely from my natural oils on my fingers. I have some fret oil I will use once I change the strings.
So like I told my band mate; “I think I just found my soulmate guitar!!”

What a great guitar Gibson brings it back with a vintage beast, sound and feel is incredible plays awesome right out of the box, and every time you put it away you get that hint of vanilla priceless ....this guitar is awesome and well worth the cash if you get a chance don’t think twice you won’t regret it

From the moment i unboxed the guitar, I was blown away by its beauty. Imagine my relief when it played as well as it looked, Lol! Seriously though, a little disclaimer here...... I am definitely a Gibson, head! That being said, I’ve had a few in the past that had me doubting the quality control. Not so, with this. The new Standards are fantastic! The set up, right out of the box was just to my liking and the build quality is exactly what you expect from Gibson. Through and through, a great guitar with resonance for days.

Looks like Gibson is back with this Les Paul. Just like an original 60's standard. No extra bells and whistles, just a GREAT standard Les Paul, the way it should be. The thing is made like a tank
The color is beautiful! Sexy feel!
Purchasing from americanmusical.com was a breeze. They had 3 to choose from at the time. The high quality pictures they show you of each guitar are perfect. I feel I did get the best of the 3. Plus I was able to get this beauty for 0% over 24 months. Another WIN!

This is the 4th guitar I purchased from American Musical and each time the selection and service is superior. The guitar arrives exactly as described and safely. I’ve never had an issue with shipping damage and they arrive fast. I love being able to see the exact guitar I want online, purchase it and be playing in less than a day. Best guitar I own. This is my second Gibson best of the two and best overall I couldn't be more pleased. I luckily have never been let down by a Gibson guitar, mine or some else's I know. I have read stories of others who have. The action, intonation, and relief were perfect out of the box mine requires zero setup the finish is flawless. This guitar sounds amazing feels amazing. I Really cant say enough good about it. It is an expensive instrument, but worth it and I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about and well into their music/playing. Mine is unburst and gorgeous!I ordered over the phone and also recommend, AMS has always been great to deal with.

Purchased a 2019 LP Standard in Unburst. I saw the guitar i wanted from friend who had taken a look with picture.Within five minutes i ordered! Some sort of glitch in their system so i wasn't assigned a serial number.Boy i was upset as i wanted the one in the pic.Ordered on a Tuesday and the guitar arrived Friday just after noon.NICE...Beautiful burst,3d as you move it through light. Great neck. I found a small scratch and they refunded me $330 with still the choice within 45 days to return! Going to get a set up as i do with all my guitars but the electronics are A+. Thanks AMS! Make sure you take a good look through the serial numbered guitars because the one's with the great tops go fast.8 were sold just today and i checked the website at 4 AM! It;s now 8AM.

Thanks to AMS I now have what I dreamed of a Gibson les paul standard I could not be happier about this purchase this is my first Gibson standard the feel of the guitar the tone of the guitar is amazing It empowers me just to hold such an iconic guitar I will cherish this guitar for life I bought the bourbon burst this is a beautiful guitar I highly recommend this guitar

I bought the Bourbon burst 60's Standard! I have always wanted a Standard but the direction Gibson was going, I held off! Finally Gibson is back full force!! Besides being a work of art, this guitar reflects the way it is suppose to be!! I compared my Gibsons with the circuit board for volume and tone and plugs for pickups to the hand wired,soldered controls of my Standard.. No comparison..You can roll the volume or tone and it is different on each number, like it should be. The others with the board dont react or change nowhere even close!! The guitar plays and sounds amazing! The Standard is back to stay and I am so happy I own one!! If you haven't already..get one! You will love it!

Best Les Paul I have owned. This is the 5th one. Highly recommend buying one. Just wish it had been offered in a Heritage cherry burst. I got the ice tea but still looks and feels great. Best neck profile.
