I primarily play metal and I needed a quality guitar for recording rhythm tracks. This guitar fit the bill for me. Solid playing guitar without all the fancy stuff that demands a premium price, but I honestly prefer the less flashy and bleak looking appearance of a plain black studio Les Paul. This is also the first new guitar I have received that came set up out of the box. Very smooth and rich sound, exactly what I was looking for. The nitrocellulose finish can be a bit touchy, so make sure your guitar stand is safe for these types of finishes.

I have dreamt of owning a Gibson Les Paul for quite some time, but never pulled the trigger on getting one. With the uncertainty of tomorrow not being promised to anyone, I decided it was time to go do it. The 18 month payment options offered by Gibson made it easier for my dreams to come true. And it was beautiful out of the box, I love the case that it comes in. The hardest part was waiting for the guitar to come up to room temperature and not being able to play with it for a while. But now I have a new love in my life and we spend lots of time together :-). It plays like butter and it’s easy on the eyes . Some minor tuning which is expected with the colder weather shipping, and she holds a tune very well. I love the versatility of the split coils or full on home buckers with the push pull knobs. And now there’s one less item I have on my bucket list. Thank you American music supply, and Gibson for helping this dream come true.

At first I was taken back by how light it was, but it sure is comfortable to wear when standing a couple hours at time. My Viv Camble LesPaul is really heavy. The sustain on this studio L. p., Is amazing!, And the split coil options, have quite unique tones that I've never heard from a LesPaul before. Mixed with different effects it's endless the amount of sounds you can create. I really think the price should have included a better case. My only gripe.

Received it in 2 days, always fast shipping here. Opened the case and was floored by how beautiful the tangerine burst is, pictures don't do it justice. Has some streaks in the fretboard that look amazing. Needed tuned and a little tweaking but playable out of the case. Sounds amazing, looks and plays amazing. Will be keeping it a long time.

I added this to my collection of Standards and Tributes for the coil tapping. Incredible guitar. Playable out of the bag. After several band rehearsals, there isn't much I would change (other than the strings....my preference). As with the gig bags that the Tributes come with, the bag is high quality and very functional. Great guitar!

This is not a good guitar at all. It came with scratches and the wood is very soft that you have to be extra careful with it. It does not stay tuned tried contacting about return but never heard back. It is in the guitar shop now getting worked on. It has never stayed in tune. Sad to say but cheaper guitars are better.

I have had Gibson les Paul's in the past but have sold all.. But wanted to get another one and after reviews and YouTube videos it seemed like a winner for a reasonable price also .so I bought the wine red , absolutely beautful finish , plays and sounds nice , I use for when i play Allman brothers and Marshall Tucker band, sounds really good , also got lucky its not that heavy.. Would recommend this Studio because for the price i think it good..

I've played guitar for 20 years off and on. This is by far one of the finest guitars I have ever received. I bought the blemished version (which I cannot find). The sound this thing makes and the craftsmanship is just next level. You will not understand until you own one. Mine came with a nice setup out of the box. Plugged it into two of my tube amps, absolutely blown away by the Gibson growl, the cleans are just buttery goodness that I want to be smothered in too. Folks saying Epiphones are just as good are the ones who just don't want to shell out the cash for this thing. Top notch, would certainly buy again if lost, damaged or stolen.

I don't know about you, but I really don't care for binding. I like the super clean look of the LP Studio far better than the Standard and Custom. As far as sound quality goes, the Studio has a superior clean tone, along with it's perfect crunch. If Fenders and Ibanez's go to 10, Les Paul's go to 12. It's a very difficult guitar to compare other guitars to, since Les Paul's just do everything better. And a Studio does it for $1000 less than its siblings. Now that really is hard to beat.

As stated above, I've found the Gibson Les Paul to be very effective in cutting through the mix in live and studio settings. I have two, a 2012 and a 2021 (both black), they have fantastic action and the nitro finish feels. The pickups are great for most rock music, I have a preference for higher gain so I swapped for a set of seymour duncans on both, again this is just for preference and doesnt speak to the quality of the stock 490R and 498T pickups.

This guitar is awesome with the weight relief its just under 8 lbs. The craftsmanship is what you’d expect. It sounds great through the HX Stomp. You know what sustain is playing this guitar. The case that comes with it is definitely usable. Love the action right out of the box.
I’m a happy camper with this guitar.

Sure, Gibson gets some QC gripes, however, this guitar is perfect! No sharp frets, the weight relief feels nice, and there were zero tool marks or finish issues! I got the Studio due to my hesitation to go for a Standard. I will definitely be getting a Standard in the future!

What can I say? It’s a Gibson les paul and certainly performs like one. Play great and as much as I like the coil split option the board and pickups weren’t for me. I kept the coil split option but changed the wiring to hand wiring and changed the pickups to Duncan’s. I thought I would have liked the stock setup but after playing it at home I chose a more sound specific set of pups for me. A pearly gates and a 59 4 conductor. Again the stock system is great just chose to make it my perfect Les Paul. Love it!

My guitar arrived very fast. To say I was excited is an understatement. The packaging was fantastic as it came double boxed and of course in its soft case. If you don’t know about Gibson’s soft cases they are really outstanding. Far better than any other manufacturer’s gig bags. I really like the factory set up. Right out of the box the guitar plays great. I’ll get it set up for 8’s after I wear it in a bit. I’ve had this guitar for about a month and what really surprised me is the tangerine burst. Pictures really don’t do this finish justice. It’s not as orange as it appears in the photos. I really love this guitar. The top is plain but it does have personality. Overall I’m super happy with my purchase.

Gibson Les Paul Studio is the perfect addition to anyone's guitar arsenal. The stunning Red Wine nitro cellulose finish is classic Gibson and the smoked vanilla scent is intoxicating. This Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar in Smokehouse Burst finish is beautiful! It came with action that is perfect for me and plays very smooth with great tone and tuners that keep the strings tuned. I was getting lax on practicing with my Yamaha acoustic and my Squire Strat that I modified with Fender parts and decided a quality guitar would spice it up. The Studio has me playing every day. Just the sound I envisioned! Had a lot of trouble with FedEx on its way here, sat without moving on a trailer for 72 hours on scorching hot days, and when it finally arrived, the action was horrible! But I’ve adjusted it now, and it seems to be holding very well, so far. So now, it’s a dream to play...like silk, like butter! These pickups are HOT! (twice as loud as all my other guitars!), but in the normal setting they come through with that authentic Les Paul richness and bite...only louder! On any pickup switch position, and with any tone setting, the sound is just sooo beautiful and full! Jam packed with nuance and sustain that lasts for what seems like eternity! The soft leather case that it came in is plush and beautiful, and very classy! This Les Paul Studio (Smokehouse Burst) looks so good, and comfortable, nestled in its beautiful case, but I think it looks even better in my hands, where it really wants to be, all the time! And every time I pick it up, it sings it’s thanks to me for rescuing it from FedEx and making it feel whole again! :) I’ve been playing guitar 55 years, and my recording studio business turned 40 last September. In the last year and a half, I have totally retooled my studio with tons of gear, recording equipment, and four guitars, all bought and paid for, through American Musical Supply, sometimes paying all at once, and many times using their unbeatable no credit check, no interest payment plans. I have to give kudos to AMS for top notch professional, courteous, and personal, caring customer service each and every time! Thanks, AMS! I finally came to the point that I was ready to purchase a custom shop guitar, however, price point was still a factor. How do you get a Les Paul but keep the cost down ? Enter the Studio Model. Binding and fancy head stock lettering do not affect sound or playability. Other factors like pickups, type of wood and head stock angle just to name a few play important roles. Love the sound of this model through my Marshall Code 50 amp. The coil tapping is so versatile that the options are endless. I purchased the smokehouse burst and the photos don't do it justice. This is a beautiful guitar and it sounds as good as it looks. Thanks to AMS for the payment options. I highly recommend this axe

First off, this is my first LP..Plenty of Fenders in the Stable. I decided to do it right and purchase this guitar. I didn't want to bother with an alt brand or even an Epi and be left wondering what it was all about. Wanted a Les Paul with all the features but not the price. Beautiful build, sound and tone. Love it and the photos do not give it justice. Great deal as always with AMS to go with the quick shipping and stellar customer service.

I grew up playing guitar dreaming of one day owning a Gibson Les Paul. Finally in my adult life I was able to purchase one and it’s just as I imagined. Plays smooth and sounds amazing. The finish and construction are excellent quality as expected from Gibson USA.

No matter how many guitars I might buy and sell, I always will own a Gibson Les Paul. This one I bought recently and no different from the others except the orange sunburst color. I had a white, brown and black Les Paul guitar’s. I get the sound I expect for the type of music that I play.

The Smokeburst color Is so awesome. This guitar pickups scream they are so killer and love the feel. I definitely promote picking this axe up regardless of color. Love it !
