The only bad review's came from people that couldn't figure out how to connect the Bluetooth. A little confusing at first , but once you get it , it's easy. Some people might think $500 is to much to pay for a Bluetooth speaker. I'm sure everyone has heard the term " you get what you pay for ". True statement. Let me tell you , it's worth it. You will know where the extra $ went when you hear it. Deep Rich bass , clear High's. The bass even vibrates my bed. And I don't know how , but it seems even louder outside. All my friends love it , they all say it sounds great. Don't waste your money on other ones with speakers that are paper thin and are never gonna get the sound quality you want. Spend a little extra $ on these. You will be glad you did. I highly recommend it to people that want quality sound

I enjoy these Mackie Thump Boosted , they do hit pretty good, The only thing I wish could be different is the amount of Bass that is rolled off when switching to music + sub is a bit much for certain songs /sets , it would be great to be able to control how much Bass is rolled off , other than that, this is a great PA and Bluetooth capability makes it way much better

I was never a huge fan of the Mackie brand until I purchased a pair of these to use for normal wear & tear events (bars, smaller night clubs etc.) They're light, extremely compact and pack a wallop when it comes to sound. The bottom end is great for those who don't want to carry a sub to every event they do and the highs and mids compliment the overall sound quality. Not exactly my EVs, but I'm glad I purchased a set of these babies. GOOD JOB Mackie!!!

I have had this pair of speakers for about 2 months now and even though I have not used them in public yet (thanx rona), I have enjoyed the use of them indoors. I've played instruments and pumped music through them at a minimalistic threshold with respect for my neighbours and it's true, the bass still pumps. Controlling the speakers from their rear or with the cell phone app is a breeze!

Sounds fantastic with a EQ in front of it along with its internal eq. Keep that fact it mind these speakers out perform most all speakers in its class. They could sound a bit flat without engaging the EQs mentioned, but once you set the EQs these outperform more expensive speakers since manny bottom out when you boost an external EQ along with software EQs. These can handle most anything as long as you don’t creat a feedback loop by accident. They sound lush when you use then correctly. There Bluetooth range is unmatched! These speakers set a new level of features and are unrivaled so far especially in there price range.

I purchased two Thumps. My goal was to get qauilty sound at a good price. These are it. The clear crispy highs and wall shaking bass is amazing. I only run at medium setting. Best deal ever. I can play Bluetooth from any bth device and use Serato DJ at the same time. Club equipped, Can't go wrong.

I really didn’t know much about Mackie speakers until now.... One of my Electro-Voice amps went out on my ELX 15’s a week before a big gig & I needed a backup asap. Being an DJ for two decades has to come with some disappointments at times.All being said if your looking for powered speakers for small venues these speakers rock the house. Okay, let me start this review by saying that I might be a little biased towards Mackie products - I've always generally been a fan of their speakers even before I started dj'ing and buying my own equipment for my mobile dj business.
These are by far the best I've heard from the Mackie lineup and love them! I have a set of 4 15' speakers (2 previous Thumps model & 2 new Thumps BSTs) now and do not regret going all in on these! The design on this speaker is also cleaner and more sleek.
I owned the previous generation which I had mixed feelings about because they produced a humming output, but overall they were decent beginner dj speakers for my gigs(I'll review that model later).
In my opinion the standout differences with the Thump BSTs compared to their predecessors is the cleaner high frequencies, fuller bass, digital EQ/settings screen, and Bluetooth capabilities.
This speaker is much more feature rich without being to complex to configure. I love that I'm able to connect this to my tablet or phone via Bluetooth to play intermittent music at my gigs - what's even cooler is the ability to interconnect 2 BSTs speakers together without daisy-chaining or XLR cables in the equation. This can all be done from the Mackie Thump app which allows for interconnecting between other Thumps (as long as the device is connected via Bluetooth). There is also the ability to customize EQ's individually on each speaker or set them up as 'Zone' speakers to fit the audio requirements of each setting without having to physically be present at each speaker; very neat especially in the instance that you need to play music in different rooms for a wedding or event!
The only thing I can say I've noticed that is less than ideal about these is the somewhat lingering hum when cranking them up close to 80% on the master channel (this however could also be easily avoidable by not cranking them up so high and adding more speakers to the setup to better distribute the sound waves).
I have compared the sound of the 15' to other 15' speakers with 1000-1300 Wattage potential & near the same price spectrum like Peavys, Yamahas, and JBLs (also a JBL fan) and still preferred the sound output from the Thumps. This speaker by far had a cleaner bass output
Overall, no other speaker can beat this one for the value it provides at the price point it's offered at. Definitely a gem audio product in my books!

I have had a passive system with a powered mixer for quite some time. After using my DJ friends powered speakers I became a fan real quick. My wife choreographs dance routines on the side and always needs music for practices. I love the idea of being able to send her with one powered speaker and she’s good to go. No need to tote the heavy mixer with it. I haven’t been able to utilize all the bluetooth features that come in the Boosted series yet due to my budget only affording me one to start with. That being said, my first gig with this speaker was great. I paired my phone for background music while setting up the rest of my equipment and was able to use both the wired and wireless channels independently as well as monitor and control the EQ and levels from the Mackie app. I’ve messed with other bluetooth enabled speakers like this before and they only allowed monitoring and control but not audio streaming. The boosted does it all simultaneously as well as pairs with a 2nd speaker for stereo and lets you save profiles for different venues. I’m excited to try that out when I can afford another one. :) With 2 1/4-xlr combo jacks, the bluetooth streaming channel, and the wireless control capabilities, this unit is not only great in a larger setup but also ideal on its own for smaller venues. Hands down a very well designed product with excellent sound and packed with convenient features.

I have been in the DJ / Live music scene for over 35 years and yes I still have my old PA with my old non powered Peaveys which weigh in at 87 pounds each these mackies at 1300 watts each and only weighing in at 35 pounds rocks the house...your PA can be as big or as small as your budget nice lows and crisp clear highs I am planning on getting the subs and possibly 1 more set of 15's

These speakers are Bangers! I was tossed between several powered speakers but with already having a Mackie 18" powered sub. I decided to keep my system in unison and keep it all Mackie. Getting the Thump15BST were the best decision. The speakers look great, they are not heavy and sound clear. The expandability for a multiple speaker setup and the bluetooth option is great for wedding ceremonies, background music and backup if your main setup goes down for any reason. From your backyard BBQ to playing for a room sized for 400 - 600 peoople.
It only gets better when purchasing from AMS. Their customer service rocks, the website is easy to navigate and the play now, pay later option is just awesome.
This is not my first purchase with AMS and it won't be the last. AMS is my main choice for service and equipment.

I am a DJ with several PA Speakers. I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker that I could use for family get togethers instead of packing my normal equipment. I chose these because I didn’t want to be disappointed getting a smaller speaker and not be able to pump them if needed. I ended up getting two. Then I couldn’t resist getting a subwoofer. For the money, you couldn’t find a better pair of speakers. The addition of Bluetooth connectivity adds more to the versatility of these speakers than we had ever hoped it would. Being able to connect an iPhone or other Bluetooth device to them is great for playing music between sets at a gig, as well as listening to songs we’re learning at rehearsal. They have more than enough power for any venue in the area we will be playing, and they even handle the kick drum well without a sub. We’re running a Mackie DL16S, digital mixer, and using the onboard real time analyzer, we can get incredibly loud without any feedback problems, and they remain clear and crisp, without a bit of distortion or clipping. The internal mixer, EQ, and various modes make them very versatile , and they seem very sturdy. We plan to add some subs in the near future, and I’m really looking forward to it. I couldn’t recommend these enough to anyone in a band, looking for a great pair of powered speakers on a budget

I purchased a pair of these speakers for my mobile DJ gigs. They have so much power and bass. I love how I am able to control their EQ and volume from my iPad or iPhone through the Thump app using Bluetooth. I would purchase these again.

I cant believe the clarity and punch at low and high levels. I have pushed these as far as I could and have yet to hear any distortion. Even in rooms where arrays have been used...these speakers filled the room with clear sound. Excellent EQ...nice HP filters for use with subs. The bluetooth option works very well although the app could use some tweaking but nothing major. Having 2 sets of inputs is really nice if you need them. Just a simple great set of speakers....lightweight...but yet rugged. If you looking to get into a set of powerful versatile speakers...no other speakers will do!

I’ve used the orginal Thump 15 as a keyboard amp for several years, with no issues. When it was time to upgrade, the BST was the obvious choice. Both lightweight and powerful, it will meet my needs for years to come.

I use these as FOH for a Classic Rock Band. Loud and precise. My set up is an 80 soundcraft board, because I love that analogue British EQ sound. Pushed into a DBX Driverack, through a 33band EQ and to the speakers. The EQ is to dial out room problems, normally set to flat.
The speakers are Very good. For what I do, no sub required as the frequency range covers it Classic rock, shot from cannons.
Vocals very clear and clean, Backline as well.
The bluetooth so far has proved to be excellent for difficult situations.
Cable to one on near side and BT link to the far side of the stage. In my situation, very reliable and solid.
The Scene/venue memory is awesome. So if you play frquently at places, you dial in your settings, and save them. You can name them too.
Set up, push a button on the touchscreen, and set up is done.
1300 watts of raw power.
Excellent spaekers.
My new system is all mackie thumps.

The Cutting edge Bluetooth speaker linking feature is my favorite most convenient feature with Thump 15 BST model. I can run a show without speaker wires in the way!
These speakers sound amazing and the extra bass is great and really help you feel the music and get people out on the dance floor.
Being able to control and EQ the speakers from the Free App is superb and the icing on the already delicious cake!

I currently own jbl speakers(powered and not), qsc(powered k12.2) and even some Ev (powered and non)...compared to those so far the Mackie thumps 15s can hold there own. I have used just 2 and NO SUBS and have done 3 outside functions and 3 inside functions with them and really drove them and they didn't blink. There is sooooo much bass in these speakers that if you added a sub the building would probably crumble!!! I used a basic system with both speakers coming out of a Numark mixer and even though I never redline I did turn the speakers up...they killed will good clean sound. No distortion!!! One thing I will say is the casing doesn't feel as sturdy as other speakers I have used so I would just baby them and buy speaker covers. I do alot of events and I'm happy to add these to the family!!! Especially for the price. Can't wait to re-review them a year from now

Looking for a nice speaker for a bday gift for my boyfriend, my dad told me about AMS and found the perfect speaker. Worth every penny, plays super loud everything my boyfriend wanted we even took it to our Havasu trip and man did it blow everyone out of the water lol. Well never go shopping anywhere else but AMS. I highly highly recommend this store to everyone!!!!!

Having used previous generations of the Mackie Thump line of speakers I was curious to see if there'd be a noticeable improvement with this new line. And yeah I was definitely in for a treat! I've been pushing these things for a few months and they're handling everything I'm throwing at them and more. There's no distortion, the sound is crystal clear, the hi's are crisp and the BASS is LOW and DEEP. As a DJ you definitely want speakers you can rely on and these hands down are more than reliable. The Bluetooth works great as long as you're in an open area versus going from outside to indoors or vice versa. The app is also very handy when you need to adjust volume levels or other settings. However it's a little buggy at times when it drops the connection. So having things preset is your best bet. Great price, great speakers you have nothing to lose by going with these.

The Makie Boosted Series are really good! The sound can be dialed in wirelessly to suit any thing you want to do! The louder you turn them up the better they sound if you can handle that kind of volume! The Bluetooth app is great, with independent control over all channels Bass Mid Treb HI pass filter and volume! You can have bluetooth playing and two other inputs mixed in at the same time! Really good for guitar players too! I played my pair at a bbq and I got several comments on the sound, people said they were hearing things in the music they never heard before! Genuinely blown away by these for the money and with all the features you can't go wrong with a pair of these! I'm really happy with these! Thank You AMS for the 0% interest payment plan as I wouldn't be able to get these any other way!
