First thing I wanna give tons of kudos to ams for their outstanding and commitment to beyond good customer service.
This amp here, is the tone and sound of what made Marshall a household name. The clean although won’t get distorted, it’s clean and takes pedals very well. The dirty is perfect for almost anything you choose to play. Can’t say enough and it’s big enough to keep up with a band, as long as it’s not going against full stacks, but small enough to carry without wearing yourself out.

This amp is perfect for rock from the 60’s to early 90’s. Classic gain is great, if ya need more go to ultra. The digital reverb is ok, if that’s your thing, get a quality reverb pedal and surf on !
The BUT is, like so many reviewers of this amp, I have one with the “white” noise. It started after about 2 hours of playing. If I can’t get it resolved/fixed soon, I will wrap it out for another. This one was built in March of this year so I was hopeful I would get the “hiss” everyone me talks about.

What an amp, there's more tones on the clean channel than you'd ever imagine, and the ultra gain channel is just a monster. This amp can go from Keith Richards to Angus Young, and everything in between, and the volume can go from a whisper to flat out loud as hell. Don't believe the speaker snobs ( most of whom probably never played a gig), the Celestion 70/80 sounds fantastic. Rock on!

Love this amp, I've had it since December and totally digging it.
I can drop down to the low watt setting when I'm at the house and I don't want to disturb the neighbors. (Yeah right, haha) or go high when I'm at a club jamming. Only thing I might try is to swap speaker out for a Vintage 30 or creamback.

It's a little smaller then I expected.....but when you turn her on....the tone is all Marshall....this little amp sounds great......it has a really good clean channel....with separate volume and gain.....then hit the button and the distortion channel just kicks ass......tje more I play it th ed better it sounds......no pedals needed.....it can DH o any type of music....and sound good at any level....

Tim Short ha I purchased a amp a marshall lamp from American music supply and got the greatest service that I've ever had through the mail it arrived about nine days early all shipped and packaged in a proper way not to damage your product these guys are very responsible people and do what they say no fuss no cuss with them their business all the way I will use them all the rest of my life because they have such good service over the phone explaining the product you buy and if you tell them what you want and what you're after they will direct you into the right product that you tell them for your needs couldn't ask for anybody to be better than these guys I hope you have a pleasant transaction as I did I know that nobody's perfect but these guys try to do things the right way all I have for them is a big thumbs up and a five-star rating

I wanted a combo amp not to replace my half stack but to save space in my studio. I also wanted a tube amp. I bought the marshall dsl20 and i'm very happy with my purchase. The clean channel sounds beautiful and the distortion is incredible. I love the tone shift button. Took me a about 20 minutes to get my boss GT-100 to work with it. Over all i am very happy with the amp.

This is the ideal amp if you’re wanting the classic Marshall tube amp tone but don’t need a ton of volume. I don’t gig with it, I just play at home, so it is nice to get the sound I want without blowing out my windows. The 10 W setting is perfect for what I need, and it pairs nicely with all of my guitars and pedals. Would definitely recommend.

For the price it's my main amp now. I did swap the speaker, the stock one isn't bad, but it isn't great. The channels work well. The Fx loop does add some noise as it is passive. The emulated out isn't any good to use for anything practical. I'm not sure why they try add that feature at this price point and expect it to be a selling point.

I have been contemplating the Marshall DSL20CR for a couple of years and decided to spring for it for a major club gig recently. This amp is every thing I expected and more. I love this amp! So, I started out buying the Marshall DSL5CR. Which is a great amp. Then I thought maybe I should try the DSL20 and I’m glad I did. Classic Marshall tone! I love the high gain channel. I also love that this amp has presence and resonance controls. The reverb is killer and the amp takes pedals just fine. Yes, it can get loud, but I think it still delivers great tone at low levels. I really like it.
Also ordering from AMS has been great. They’re a pleasure to deal with.

I had to have tubes again. My other amps were too loud to use and too heavy. I can get the sweet spot at manageable volume and drive effects properly. It's small enough to toss in the corvette and go! At half power it does have slightly different tone character just as sweet so it's like you have another amp. I'm getting another and building a stereo rig, Why not!
I'm really enjoying my new amp.

This is a fantastic small amplifier that packs a powerful punch. I don’t gig out anymore so I can’t say how it would hold up in a live band setting but I would say it would. Great Marshall sound in a very portable combo cabinet. Did I say great sound, Yes indeed.I have 2 blues jars a vox and a 2x12 devile, but this amp is pure Marshall and I love it. You really don’t even need a pedal to get a great tone. Highly, recommended from this old rocker.

This amp brings a beautiful sound both clean and crunchy when set up right. Aside from the sound the switch that can't control the level is clutch. If you can't play loud indoors you can simply set it to the 10w output while on the other hand, if you need some sound, hold on to your guitar! Overall 5/5 very satisfied and would definitely recommend.

Love this thing. Does everything from clean to grimd to balls to the wall. The clean side is really chimney and full. Push it and it nails acdc. The distortion side takes it from acdc to anything from the eighties to grunge to modern hi gain. It cleans up well with your vol on your guitar. Pretty pick responsive. Can be very bright but pull back on treble some. What I love is the power switched from 20 watts to 10 watts. Really helps the amp breath in size room. My daughter has the DSL 15 and these while similar are two different animals. Hers has the 6v6's and I have a peavey bravo with el84 and they all three sound different. This is has more of the Marshall stack tone if you get my meaning. Gonna swap the speaker for a neomag to lighten it up some more. Very satisfied with the tone and it is relatively light but I gig a lot so any wt I can skim off the better. Its the perfect gig amp. Very quiet at idle too. Was several but this was the best deal out there.

My husband is a musician so I decided to suprise him with his dream amp for Christmas and when he opened it I’ve never seen him so excited and happy! The sound quality is absolutely impeccable, the different financing options made it possible purchase without breaking the bank, and the shipping was incredibly fast! I bought this amp thinking “I need something with a little more punch”. I found out it was perfect. Getting 4 or 5 guys in one room with all the equipment is a chore as we all know. Bringing my 20W Marshall is easy on my back and gives me extra room at practice and no one can tell I’m playing on this “little” amp. I don’t even have it turned up all the way. You can really feel the “Punch” from this amp. I highly recommend it.
