I purchased the amp on 6/21/22. Loved it. I used the amp 4 times then suddenly there was no sound and the power lamp is on. AMS wouldn't take my amp in to repair or replace because it was beyond the 45 day return limit.I was told to contact Marshall. Marshall tells me to bring it to the authorized dealer closest to my home. Isn't AMS authorized dealer? I expect better customer service from AMS.

I used other amps but this one is durable and light weight for small clubs also if miked to PA I’m sure it could handle a large venue. I love it and would let my fellow guitar buddies know how great it sounds thanks American Music for the great pricing and excellent customer service

Ok, it's been a few months so now I can review this amp. First, it's heavy, I put some wheels on it so I can roll it to and from gigs. Second, it's loud! I can switch from 0.5 watts to 10 watts to 50 watts and that's a big help. The amp does not get muddy when I'm using the low watt setting for practice in the house, but I can't even put it on 3!! It's user friendly and the included footswitch gives it just enough drive to make riffs stand out from the other instruments in the band. I have not used it in a large auditorium, but I'm positive it can handle it. All in all, you won't be sorry for picking this amp.

Owned this amp for almost a month and I am pleased. Was looking for something to achieve cleans and a bluesy tone and this almost nails it. I’m a bit of a tone snob and had read many reviews as to how the Origin 50 provides a plexi-like sound. It’s nothing close to plexi sound which is why I gave this amp 4 stars.
Cleans are awesome and the amp does provide some overdriven crunch fir blues, but be aware that the volume must be cranked to get a good overdriven tone. The boost knob serves more as a volume/top end boost as opposed to a gain boost.
Overall this is a great amp from Marshall, just don’t expect a ton of gain right out of the box. It does however, accept pedals really well so that is a definite plus. Just wish Marshall would have included an onboard reverb.

Bought this origin to replace a Marshall half stack. Got more tone then I ever could have gotten from the MG100HDFX. Overdrive is subtle but useful and works well with my Behringer pedals. Well done MARSHALL. BTW,AMS customer service is second to none!

If you dig 70’s rock: Aerosmith, Zeppelin, ZZ Top etc. you’ll find those tone and many more. The cleans and dirt are very Plexi like, not 100%, but that’s why we use pedals. For recording I use a FULLTONE CS RANGER. There is nothing on earth that sounds better than a treble booster into the Marshall Origin 50c. I did change the preamp tubes to JJ’s, but left the EL34’s Marshall labeled tubes in. The only thing that could be better is the speaker. It’s a Celestion G12N-60 midnight, I’m going to upgrade the speaker to a G12M-65 creamback. This speaker will give a softer high end more mids and a tighter bass. Don’t get me wrong out of the box with no mods the Origin 50c sounds incredible, you can take it to your next gig and I know you’ll get some high regards about the tone.

It’s the top amp you can use for any kind of music rehearsal. I play metal, rock, and multiple other genres, it is perfect for it. Most amps come as one or the other, but this amp comes as multiple amps in one. It’s not too heavy, but sounds as if it’s a full stack. I recommend this amp to anyone who needs something that’ll do the trick but also not lack power,10/10 amp.

I wanted something I could play at home. I hate dragging amps around and I also hate cheap amps for when I'm playing by myself. I was surprised by this guy. I didn't need any pedals to get a decent tone out of it. It's quiet enough that it won't drive my neighbors crazy, but loud enough that I could probably play out with it. I've always been a fan of the look of the Marshalls with the silver grill, so that's an added bonus. If something happened to it, I'd buy it again.

Takes pedals like a champ and can get very fender style cleans , looks like a blues breaker which is cool

Product Review
I've been playing Marshalls since the late 60's and yes I had Plexis. The Origin 50 is like playing Clapton's Blues Breaker on the John Mayall album. Tone controls are fabulous, it does not weigh much and the 5/10/50 ability is fabulous. I've used Marshall's on every tour and album I've done in the last 40 years and the Origin is joining my road case crew. Excellent amp AND AMS is by far the best company out there,,,(I even to the store when it was in Ridgewood) Great Marshall, great value great company to buy from.

This amp is the new affordable line of tube amps from Marshall. I love the Tilt knob. It let's me tilt over to the treble Fender sound a bit. I may upgrade tubes when these wear out and probably a speaker upgrade.
I would be happy with this amp at that, but then there are the direct out and 3 power soak settings.
Well Done Marshall. Makes me want a Studio Vintage!

Product Review
This amp is fantastic. It brings about an era of no frills Marshall tone, all in an elegant/rigid enclosure that won’t break your bank. It can get loud, not fender unreasonable loud, and it breaks up beautifully. Perfect for a full rock band. The built in attenuator allows me to play on 5 watts when at band rehearsal (yes it’s that loud) and 50 when I’m playing gigs. I’ve had this amp for 6 months and haven played around 20 full sized to small bar gigs with it, and it can cover any grounds possible at any comfortable volume. quacky strat tones are doable, smooth les Paul leads are what this amp seems to be made for. most compliments received on the amp were ‘I’ve never heard an amp so smooth yet so prominent in the mix.’ You’ll be heard/cut through without the presence knob all the way up.
If you’re not looking to hash out money for an 800 reissue or original, and you want a sound that is crisp and smooth, the Marshall origin is the amp for you.

I really wanted to like this amp. I've ownned almost every amp made over the past 40 years playing, and currently own 2 other marshall 100 watt heads. I bought the origin 50 head. This thing is UNGODLY loud, easily louder than my 2 other 100 watt heads. I really thought it was defective even in 20 watt mode it easily keeps up with the loudest drummer in 50 watt mode the loudest thing I have ever played through a 4x12, 2 4x12 cabs, and a 112 cab. I spent almost a month tweaking this amp and just could not get that crunchy/clean plexi tone I was wishing for. My head had zero sag when hitting notes, the tone is really immediate and dare I say sterile sounding through a variety of high end speakers. You MUST use a pedal with vintage output single coils, or else you just sound squeeky clean with no edge. So whats the point? I have many amps I can stick a tube screamer in front of. I just cant justify buying the latest and greatest tube amp, only to have a 100 dollar dirt box be the core of

This was a choice between a DSL40CR and 50 Origin. Lots of love out there for the DSL but I have a JVM 215C which has proven to be road worthy and covers any high gain territory I might need. Clear winner is the Origin. Don't use the power scaling but this guy really delivers at gig volumes. Simple, effective, and love the looks of this amp! Thank You AMS!
