After spending money on 2 other keyboards (and selling them, in less than 4 months),I finally found the one that's perfect for me.
It's the first Roland board I've ever had. I was drawn to its ease of use, sequencer, and sampling pads. I watched a bunch of videos on it a.d decided that this was the one I wanted to get. It was actually a comment on one of those videos that led me to American Musical.
I just got it a couple days ago and am ready to get into all of its capabilities.

My keyboard has been a blessing to my church, we don’t have a lot of money to buy updated equipment so the payment option has been great for our situation..... The FAO seven keyboard by Roland is the easiest keyboard I have found in my 40 years of buying playing and trying to manipulate my way around a keyboard that’s difficult to understand, and very hard to feel comfortable around. The ease of using the keyboard for sequencing getting your songs and sounds are compiled in one spot picking drum tracks basically in organizing your music is very simplistic it truly is all play and no work. As a keyboard player do you want to be able to write your ideas down and then get them down quickly with the sequencer in the way you’re able to stack sounds layer sounds split sounds and then organize them into a user group to recall them in a touch of a button, like I said after 40 years of playing in buying keyboards this is the easiest keyboard to operate. The look of the keyboard is beautiful the colors the feel and the overall design of how it looks, because as keyboardists we don’t want ugly keyboards it’s really a good looking board and one of the most important things to keep in mind is that you have a powerful workstation keyboard that you can talk under your arm and just take it with you and have a sound it is big as a house

Sound realistic.
I like how easy to find sounds when needed during the live set. And I don't like when I got the unit, there was no guide how to set the unit especially recording my own music. I had this unit for about 5 months or so. Yes it does gives me comfort of different sounds while playing live in the band.

I was looking for a main keyboard for my rig.. the FA07 is lightweight so it is portable and all the amazing sounds Roland has to offer. I find it to be perfect for main keys from piano, to rhodes, to organ, etc!
I would definitely recommend this for any professional, traveling musician.

A small back story... I own a Roland XP-50 and a few keys stopped working before a gig that was coming in under a few weeks. The turnaround time for it to be fixed would have taken too long so I did some research and ended up buying the Roland FA-07 and at first I wasn't impressed but as I dug into it and got to know it, I began to like it and one day while looking for some sounds that I would need for my gig I came across a familiar sound. It turned out that this thing had not some... but ALL of the sounds that my XP-50 had and then some. I was blown away and to this day it's become one of my favorite synths! It's easy to use and very light to carry from gig to gig.

In my humble opinion, this baby in one word is AWESOME! I was impressed even before I plugged it in. The way Roland packaged their FA-07 was perfect. It says alot about Roland, the company itself.
Anyways, There's alot to get acquainted with; as with any synth, but the learning curve is not overwhelming. The sounds are stunning, and it's well made. It's not flimsy, or shotty at all. It's solid and feels good to me.
I've read reviews about this board and it seems many people believe the keybed is substandard. Well, since the 'feel' of a keyboard is VERY subjective; I took those reviews with a grain of salt. To me, I like the feel of my new FA-07; I've got no issues with it at all.

Umm I don’t know who Roland thought that they were fooling with this board, but it surely wasn’t me.
This is a 2018 version of the Roland XP 50-80, 1080-5080 Series. I still have my Roland 1080 with 4 Expansion Cards and an XP 60 and this is a revamp of those 2. Of course they’ve added some more up to date pianos, and synth, and a few more other sounds, but for the price and what you get couple that with the flimpsy construction I had to return it.
I spoke with a colleague of mine who endorses Roland’s Gear and who designs sounds for Roland and he confirmed this for me when I asked.
His words, “Yeah man it’s kinda whack! I never ever use it”
Just in case you’re wondering I am a well established musician that has played with A list artist and have traveled around the world playing.
If you’re lookin for an intermediate keyboard one that’s a step above one with built in speakers then this is the one for you. The keyboard keys have a weird feel to them. I’ll pass

At half the price of the premium workstations, the features and editing capabilities are top notch! This unit is extremely user friendly and is great for studio and live applications! I highly recommend the Roland FA Series.

This keyboard is awesome for the price that it is and the things that it can do it was well worth the money. I had no doubt when I brought it knowing that it is a Roland and the name speaks for it self. A perfect pair would be the Roland Fantom G with the FA-7 a board players dream.

Bought this keyboard as a way to program several presets per song (Studio Sets) and move easily to the next preset within a song. Like any feature-rich instrument, there is quite a learning curve, but the rewards are significant at the end. Managed to get pretty close duplicating some synth parts on the FA-07(i.e. ELP) that we used to have on a dedicated synth, so we probably won't need that synth keyboard anymore. Also, intend to go to a music store and try out the "Piano" keybed action of the FA-08. If it works out, we'll be getting that keyboard too. Strongly recommend the Ed Diaz YouTube videos to complement the manual.
The other reason we got this keyboard is the MIDI facilities - In the process of trying that out.
Great value for the cost of this item.

At first I was skeptical of the new Roland flagship keyboards, the FA series. Not compatible with the cards from the last 2 series, things laid out differently (so definitely a learning curve), and no more metal casing (Which has both positive and negatives for me).
Then I started trying it out and learning how the beast works. I found it easier to switch between patches, to add effects, and even to create sequences than my trust X7 & X8.
And the SuperNatural sounds are phenomenal! I made a demo for a friend who wanted an real acoustic piano. I make one version with an actual baby grand and one with the Grand Piano sound on the FA. He could tell there was a difference, but thought the FA was the real acoustic. That says a lot to me.
I have both the FA-08 and the FA-07. I use the FA-08 for playing piano passages because the keys fell more natural for that. I used the FA-07 for organ passages and horn parts. For strings (and they are gorgeous, I vary which one I use.

I have had this keyboard for about seven months and have had a lot of time to wrap my head around it and understand its strengths and weaknesses. Overall I'm very satisfied with it. You can create huge sounds on it and it sounds great. Much has been said about the build quality. No, it's not a big, heavy Fantom, however it's well built and solid. The keybed is very nice to play and a big step above the FA-06 keybed. I think this keyboard would serve pretty much anyone well. It's versatile in its sound possibilities and is at home live or in a studio. It also serves as a good master keyboard for your other gear. Roland didn't do anything new or innovative here, but they did package up a lot of good sounds, decent synth engines, and functionality for a fair price. If you want a nice workstation without spending a ton of money, it's well worth a look. At the end of the day, I think it sounds better than a lot of machines that cost way more.

It has all the sound quality of the more expensive keyboards without the weight. I love using it live with the various presets that are customizable as well as in the studio to trigger VSTi's and live Roland sounds! Don't sleep in this board;
