This e kit is a very good value for the money. It is very responsive on the pads, and the amount of sounds at your disposal for each pad is quite nice.
The only reason I would not give this 5 stars is due to the bass pad. The bottom lip of the support is not very conducive to the clamp on my bass pedal. Could just be my particular pedal, but it’s a standard pedal, so I do not think so.
Other than that, it’s a great set. It’s very sturdy, and set up was fairly painless. I am able to fold it up into a much smaller footprint when not in use with just the turn of a couple screws. Pretty convenient to say the least.

A great upgrade from my previous kit. I generally only use the electronic kit when writing or demoing ideas late at night, so this works well with my virtual instruments in my DAW. I'd like to see a little more flexibility in the rack, but the pads feel great and the module has a lot of really nice features for the price point.

So needless to say I did alot of research before settling in the TD-17kvxs and am I ever happy this thing is a power house it's got decent preloaded sounds and you can literally get lost for hours building your own kits I've been playing drums for 15 years now and gigging out live for about 7 playing acoustic drums well I've always been stand offish towards ekits thinking they where a cheat in a sense but was I ever wrong in the two months I've had this my drum skills are ever improving and I can't wait to get an audio interface and drum software are really test this kit out all in all of your in the market for a solid ekit look no further

I never thought is a million years I would go to electric drums, but I did! I never thought I could enjoy playing them, but I do! I never the could sound as good, but they do..... better!
If your like me and find yourself missing getting behind a drum kit for a multitude of reasons like, living in a condo, not having the space condo not being able to practice loudly. This is for you! When I put my headphones on, turn up the volume and begin playing it sounds like any of the hundreds of different style kits. If you were standing right next to me you would barely hear a sound except for the sound of hitting realistically feeling Jeromes than our electronics and virtually silent to the naked ear. From the solid kick drum to the adjustable snare and Tom’s, what’s all the effects that you can put on each individual percussion peace and cymbals You will be nothing short of blown away.

This thing sounds great. Set up was super easy and so far has stayed in place with very little to no movement after everything was locked in. The bass pad can be a bit of a pain if you're doing any type of metal double bass drumming but the response on all the heads is awesome. Easily adjustable through the control module. Had to treat a few settings out of the box with the sensitivity and volume of one of the toms, hi hat and cymbals but overall if you're looking for a top of the line intermediate electronic kit, this is the one.

Bought this for my sons 16th birthday. Read all the reviews and went back and forth between this and Alesis Crimson. The Alesis looked sharp but upon playing similar sets to each locally, the Roland set felt more realistic, had fantastic sounds and had several teaching options I liked for my son. The overall quality was very nice and solid. With this being their newer release, he will bet set for some time. We highly recommend it. (American Musical Supply was fantastic in their service as well.)

Purchased for my sons 16th birthday I wanted something that was more than the $300-$400 entry units but obviously didn’t need to be a high end pro set. This was the perfect compromise. I looked at Alexis Strike as well but went to a local store and messed around with the Roland. The sounds are amazing. I also liked the teaching features on this set as my son can really use those. We haven’t really gotten into the tracks yet but the unit itself is well built, sturdy and we have absolutely no complaints. I think he’ll enjoy this for some time being their newest release as well. Highly recommend.

I had to adjust the sensitivity on a few of my cymbals, but other than that they were absolutely perfect. I was upgrading from an old set of TD-7s, so the mesh heads were a huge upgrade in there own right. Couldn't ask for more.

I definitely feel if you’re trying to upgrade your studio or have something that is easy to gig with then buy this. I purchased it mainly to record in my home studio so I can drop some beats while the family sleeps, but this could easily be a live gig set. Recording to a DAW is super easy and the Bluetooth works great to practice with your phone to your favorite songs. Amateur to professional, this kit will do great. Takes about 30 minutes to set up because of all the packaging, but it’s basically plug and begin playing. You won’t regret the purchase.

From the design, the feel, and the sound, to the performance itself, it's all around an awesome unit. I record directly into my multitrack unit and it performs flawlessly.

Do not use felt, or the felt side of beaters on your kick drum trigger. You MUST use the plastic side of the beater, otherwise you will destroy the kick triggers material quite fast due to its construction.q

I have had these for a few months and they sound great, they feel great, and gosh darn it, I really think they're special. My real kit has dust on it because these are convenient and much quieter, which is why I bought these. I can practice any time and that's wonderful. I'd say you could get away with it in an apartment too.

I’ve been looking around to buy the Roland TD17 KVXS for a while. I was coming from an older version TD-6V And wanted to get the latest model from Roland.
All I got to say is that this are one of the most amazing drums I’ve ever played. The possibilities are endless specially when it comes to sampling your own drums.
The only negative aspect in my view is that the whole process of importing your own sample are not very well explain in the owners manual. So you might have to search some YouTube videos to obtain that info and how to actually achieved this task. Great drums

I am a musician and producer who primarily works from home. The main problem I'd often run into working out of my home as a renter is that I had to be extremely conscious about noise. After doing some research I decided to go electric. It has been 5 months since I acquired my Roland TD17KVS. Having the TD17KVS in my setup has been a game changer. I am a fan of live music and love to use acoustic drums in my recordings. There is something about the tonal quality of acoustic drums that makes music breathe and come to life. Unfortunately I do not always have it in my budget to record in a studio where the room is treated to get the best recording, and using my acoustic drums in my apartment would likely get my family and I evicted or me put of the house by my wife. Having the TD17KVS affords me the opportunity to have the best of both worlds. I can monitor my audio through headphones or from the outputs connected to a speaker. In addition the module gives me the option to use the TD17KVS in my DAW via the USB port. I love the mesh heads, feel, action, design and drum samples in this powerhouse. The sound is un-compromised. I do not feel as if I lost anything sonically in switching from acoustic to electric drums with this purchase. The Roland TD17KVS was the answer to my problems. It is sure to be a mainstay and a staple in my setup, creative and recording process.

Most digital drum sets out there suck, but this set, sounds like the real thing. Anything Roland, is gonna give you the sounds you’re looking for with a decent price to go with it. This set is easily portable, with a built in Bluetooth, allowing you to play to any of your favorite tunes. The software has an unlimited amount of features including 50 different pre-set drum sounds. When you put your headphones on and plug-in, you’re immersing yourself into whatever setting the song your playing calls for, without having to take the people around you with it. This makes practicing really easy because only you know right from wrong do to the fact nobody else can hear it (unless of course you hook it up to an amp). I’d recommend this product to anyone, wether they are a beginner or pro, because it meets the needs of every drummer who sits before it.

Having the ability to practice at any hour without disturbing anyone is priceless. The feel is surprisingly similar to an acoustic kit, hardware is all sturdy and there is plenty of room for adjusting pad placement. At 6’5” that was definitely a concern, but was quickly put to rest. Loads of different drum sounds, including an 808 to bring out the inner trap enthusiast.
All in all, I am beyond happy with these vdrums and would absolutely recommend these and americanmusical to anyone in the market, especially with their payment plan flexibility.

I have to say that this drum kit has the feel of a real drum set. The sound that comes out of this kit is amazing!
What I love about the kit:
the large snare that roland added to this kit. It feels like I am playing on an actual snare drum.
The Bluetooth and midi system. What a genius way to do it the classic way(hard wire) or the modern way(Bluetooth wirelessly).
The only thing I disliked about the kit. When you record through midi the toms and cymbals are overly loud(yep to the point where the kick can’t be heard). Easy adjustments though can be made by just simply lowering and Raising the volume.
All in all though if you are looking to by an electric kit. This is the best one to buy because of all the features it has.

This kit is by far the best roland has to offer in my opinion. Only downfall is the lack of space on the module but the sound possibilities are endless. Major and minor tweaking made easy. Love this kit. Looked at the other higher end ones and this still takes the cake.

I absolutely love them. I can put on my headphones and play without disturbing anyone and con customize the sound through the module to create any type of sound I want. You can customize every component individually for “your” own style with ease. Would recommend to beginners and pros alike as you can play them whenever without disturbing anyone even if they’re in the next room.

I’ve had other E kits and accoustic kits.played all over USA back in the 90s..country line dance craze..I got this kit for Christmas and just Enjoyed playing it for several weeks adj the tuning and muffling but just today got into the EQing and Effects and Holy Cow this thing is Amazing this set just keeps getting better anyone who’s having a problem with the volume of the Ride bell it can be fixed big time by going into the sensitivity setting and EQing...I don’t impress easily...I’m old 57..but this kit is very sturdy and very Superior I will gladly recommend it and have no problem giving it 5 Stars....and the folks at AMS will treat you right this is my 5th purchase...Jim Hammond Louisiana...

I have upgraded from my TD3 of many years ago, and this TD17KVX is a HUGE leap forward. The pads trigger really well and the high hat action is great. The sounds are very 'Roland'-ish. I found the snares to be really bright, but this can be tweaked in the module. I use this for teaching and personal practice and would highly recommend this kit.

You get a TON of value with this kit. If you’re looking at electronics kits as either a first timer or to replace/expand on an older kit, you just can’t go wrong. Quality is great. Excellent sounds from the brain. Extra cymbal and a 3 zone ride just top off that delicious large snare. AMS support and shipping is always top notch. Just do it. You won’t regret it.

Finally Roland produces a good quality kit that is affordable. The pads are sensitive enough to pick up ghost notes and dynamics very well. I just wish the Kick pad was wider to accommodate the 2nd beater of a double pedal better.

These drums are awesome! They sound just as good as acoustic drums if not better, and with the Roland 17 module you can easily connect to your iPhone with Bluetooth and play along with your own music. I love these drums. They are so much fun to play. The great thing about them is that you can connect headphones to the module and play all day and night and not make any noise or disturb anyone, and allows everyone in the house or apartment complex to sleep while you are jamming. I can also connect the drums to my roland v drum amp when I want to here the drums out loud, and they sound awesome, and you can adjust the volume. After being without drums for so long and not being able to have an acoustic set due to noise and space, Thanks to AMS and their payment plans I was able to get The Roland TD17KVXSV-DRUMS. They were brand new and delivered prompt and in perfect condition. American Musical Supply Store is awesome. Thankyou AMS.

I was like a little boy at Christmas waiting for my new Roland kit to arrive. I tore into those boxes and had it assembled in 45 minutes. It did not disappoint, trust me nothing will replace the feel and sound of an acoustic kit. But Roland has come about as close as you can with there new TD 17 series. Love the bigger more responsive snare. Make sure you purchase a Roland drum amp because you definitely want to hear yourself play without headphones every once in awhile. Thanks AMS for the quick delivery even know it said pre-order they showed up on my door step in about a week. And most importantly the 12 month payment plan with no interest. I wouldn’t have been able to afford them without the financing. I highly recommend this Roland kit and amp. Thanks AMS you have a customer for life.

i waited for this kit until AMS had it in stock and ordered it right away. shipping was quick. out of the box, the kit was amazing! very little set up within the module. all drum pads and cymbal pads are working perfectly. i use this kit to trigger superior drummer 3 and it is flawless! i'm glad i switch from alesis strike to the td17 kvx.
