I have these pickups in 3 of my Les Paul’s, a Hamer Monaco Elite, and a Friedman Vintage T (bolt on neck) They sound amazing in any guitar, not just single cut or set neck. Something special about them is how they react to the volume knob on your guitar. Play through a clean amp and have the guitar volume knob at 4 or 5 and they’re warm, responsive, open, articulate. Clear (not too bright) You’ll capture vintage PAF tone in spades
What a lot of people don’t realize is if you play ‘em through a dirty amp (I have Friedman BE100 Deluxe, Bogner Ecstasy, Mesa Boogie M5 and MII, Soldano SLO) you name them, doesn’t matter. They sound awesome pushed and guitar volume dimmed. You can play Metal all day long. Tight, growl, bark, etc. not flubby in any way. They really hit the mark in any genre of music and work well in every guitar I’ve ever installed them in. Buy them and you won’t regret it…

I recently re-built a Gibson Les Paul and I wanted to get that sound of a vintage burst. I custom wired a new harness that included a set of bumblebee capacitors, so I wanted a set of pickups that could take advantage of that type of set-up. These antiquity humbuckers delivered that and then some. The tone is amazing, the neck pickup is full sounding, not muddy, and the bridge is just what you would expect. The note clarity and definition are outstanding in both pickups, and on top of that the aged look is spot on. In my opinion a perfect choice and I would highly, highly recommend these.

The pickups themselves are absolutely wonderful in my 06 Gibson Les Paul Classic. However the AMS website was very misleading, it stated that both pickups were signed by Seymour. After opening them that was not the case, contacted support through Seymour Duncan's sight to see what's going on and they had AMS immediately remove that part of the product listing. Could not reccomend the pickups more, the clarity is insane. Just a little disappointed that mine were not signed as advertised

I put them in my 2002 les Paul classic premier plus and they really sound like a set of pafs I have had some real pafs and they sound just like them. I play blues rock a lot and they bring out the guitars tone. I did add a nylon nut to and I’m in 59’ heaven now

These pickups have great clarity and you can really pull off some single coil esque tones. I was actually really surprised with the neck pickup and I'd definitely recommend these. I put them in my Gibson Sg standard along with a new style 50's wiring harness, they really brought the guitar to life.

As usual I read a bunch of reviews on humbuckers before buying. I've also done pickup swaps in the past and sold them. I picked these because I wanted something that was as close to an original paf as possible and on demos these just seemed cleaner(not in terms of gain but like airy and open not muddy or dark) than others. They arrived fast as usual and I was very impressed with SDs packaging. All hand signed etc. I put these in while doing a wiring replacement on my les paul which included cts pots and some vintage sprague oil caps of ebay. I've never been this happy with a set of pickups. I'm running it through a 5f1 based amp I built and an orange closed back 2 12 and it's just ridiculous how great it sounds. Some people say it shines in the middle position over any other but honestly it just depends on what I'm playing. They all sound great. Buying this made me want to have more guitars so I could but different combos of these pickups. I think AMS should carry the firebird pickups as well.

Put these in my Ibanez AS73, made a world of difference. Also upgraded the electronics with CTS pots and Emerson oil in paper .22uf caps. Sounds awesome now.
