Product Review Perfect electric ukes for use with pedals and gainy amps. However the OE saddles are too wide so strings VERY close to fret edges high up neck. I swapped to import spec block saddles which brought strings into better alignment with neck. The uke I received had maple fretboard, which is ok, but I prefer real rosewood.

Product Review I have two of the S-types. Both were rather poorly set up, but that's something easy enough to rectify. The neck and fingerboard were good enough, but the fret ends needed dressing and smoothing. The tuning machines were first to be replaced because the gearing was too direct. I used Gibson type tuners. Under the pickguard was a disaster: cold solder joints and loose connections: fixed! I lined the pickup cavity with copper tape to reduce the 60hz hum. The tailpiece was a disaster. The saddles went into the bin immediately and replaced with some others from a $50 project strat. I redrilled holes for the strings through the tailpiece because they were offset (huh?), so now there is no strange angle in the strings. Finally, it's well setup, properly intonated and plays well. Despite all the negatives, it's quite fun, now that it rocks!

Product Review Bought this and tuned to D G B E. So much fun! It's my little guitar I can play for hours without it killing my back. Stays in tune and shreds through my Roland.

Product Review Was looking for a electric ukulele to play around with and came across this model. When I first opened the box the first thing I noticed was the weight, heavy but not bad. Going over the ukulele it self,it’s very well built, solid feel. The neck was well dressed no sharp edges on the frets, geared tuners and plays good up and down it.The body clean and neat,no flaws. The Electronics work great in all the settings and sound good played thru my Vox amp. It does have the dreaded hum from the pickups which I’ll take in to have the foil tape and a new ground put it.i did change the strings to the D’Addario that there selling here, see them for the sizing I used. All I all I would give a five star if not for the low level hum. Would I buy again “yes”... would I tell a friend “yes”. This is a great ukulele to give your playing a different sound, well worth it...

Product Review Fun little uke to play with. I got this so I could play quietly late at night or early in the morning. I plug into an amp and use headphones and it works great. I changed strings on it and that helped as well. Can't beat the price.

Product Review Great looking but bad playing out of the box. It took hours of messing with the frets (hammering and filing) to get the strings to stop buzzing. And even then the nut grooves had been filed down too deep and I had to shim them up with card stock. The bridge needed work too including filing one groove deeper. There were also scratches on the back as if someone with a belt buckle tried it out. Frets were sharp too. Now it’s pretty good and it’s generally hard to complain about the value but I would be willing to pay more for something playable out of the box. If I could do it over I would hand pick one out or drop it off and have an expert set it up. Strings were upgraded too.

Product Review Sounds great, it came with crappy strings and wasn't set up correctly. Finding a full set of strings for it is next to impossible. So you have to buy individual strings. But once set up correctly with a good set of strings, great little practice tool.

Product Review Great action and fun to play. Fit and finish is excellent. Very solid and much heavier than expected. Factory strings are junk - I replaced them with some Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings and now it sounds great. Gig bag is OK - like most of them, they are more of a dust cover than anything else. Unit comes with a really light-duty guitar cable but I didn't use it. Overall, this is a fine instrument that sounds great through my amplifier.

Product Review I bought a scratch and dent version of this S style Vorson electric uke because of the great price, and AMS's great return policy, which also applies to their scratch and dents. It took me a few hours to find anything that would make it a scratch and dent (very small paint blur on the back, invisible when playing.) Even at full price, these instruments are a great bargain. However, I took off a star, because as you will find if you read about these online, the factory strings are completely wrong for them. I knew this going in, and had a set of strings waiting to swap out when it arrived. The ones Electric uke strings that AMS sells for these are wrong also. Do a search in the forums on Ukuleleunderground.com and you'll find people advising the correct strings to use with these tenor ukes. I put on a low tension set and couldn't be happier. Intonation and string height were actually really close from the factory too, it didn't take much setup at all. Very pleased with the purchase.
