My experience with this combo

Product Rating Product Review When you get this incredibly heavy and bulky thing, you will experience somewhat brittle high-end sounds, boomy low-end and cardboard-like midrange, exactly as expected at this price range combo with a cheap Chinese-made 'Celestion Seventy 80' speaker and rather nasty Chinese tubes. But you don't have to send it back, because you can do 2 things: 1) to replace the sonically-horrible Chinese Seventy 80 with an outstanding US-made EVM12L Black Label speaker (as I did) and 2) to replace one of the 2 awful Chinese 12AX7 preamp tubes (only one needs to be replaced, because the second one is the phase inverter and has not-much-to-do with the amp's tone and feel) with something decent (some Electro-Harmonix or JJ Hi-Performance 12AX7 will do). Then you will have an incredibly bulky and heavy -- yes, truly your chiropractor's dream -- but decent-sounding combo.

Product Review Had one of these a while back, but lost it in a divorce. Was waffeling between another Blackstar and a Marshall DS something or other. SO GLAD I stuck w the Blackstar. I have a Gibson 2017 T I play and this thing just ROARS! Can't wait to gig out live again.

Product Review After listening to many demos and reading reviews I thought I'd take a chance on something not named Marshall. I'm sick of lugging around my half stack to gigs and wanted to get a combo for convenience. I received a giant box which surprised me but I must say its the best packaging I have ever seen. I was disappointed to find the grill cloth sagging when I took it out of the box. The amp has good qualities, tone is easily attainable between American and British. The clean channel is very impressive and sounds great with effects. The reverb I give a 6 out of 10 not very natural sounding. If you're used to a closed back speaker cab beware of a big difference in impact. It's just not gonna thump your chest, that's something I've always liked. Ok the biggest problem for me is the sustain, I never for a moment thought this would be a problem but I was wrong. This unit has maybe half of the sustain that my old DSL 2000 has. I like sustain so I'm using my delay to make up for it

Product Review Just got this amp last week. I am more than pleased with the HT-40 ...It is very responsive with what ever guitar you plug in and also responds to how YOU play, it's very dynamic! I have read some comments that people have said they were disappointed with the tone outta the box, I can't disagree more with that. It takes some knob turning to get her dialed in to the sound your looking for, but it's there, any tone for any style. Now if your sitting in your bed room at a low volume, you may not hear exactly what you want...BUT.. Remember this is a tube amp and it is made to ROCK. I played my 1st gig with it the day after I got it. At home in my studio, I dialed a tone in that was close to what I wanted... Live in a PA system, this amp really comes ALIVE! I was blown away by what I heard! I played most of my show with out any extra effects other than some delay and a small amount of chorus at times but over drive pedals, you don't need them. The HT-40 has it all and then some. Simply amazing

Your general opinion of this product. I love this amp. It is clean and musical with loads of power and tone. My opinion is this amp does clean and mildly driven tones as well as anyone. Solid, I do consider this amp to be well made. The amp cabinet is substantial and the controls are straight forward in that there is a no-nonsense vibe here. No bad settings on this amp. Yes, this amp can be felt. The range of tones are musical and useful. Again, it seems there are no useless or bad settings on this amp. The Celestion speaker performs very well here. For me, the EL34 is a nice change up from the 6L6 rig that I use as well. Forty watts of action packed amplification. A nice look of black and aged white with flashes of purple and gold. I am confident this amp will serve me well into the future.

Your general opinion of this product. After mant years of dependening on a Fender Super Reverb for my live sound, I was convinced to try this amp as a much lighter weight, compact alternative by a former student of mine. I must say that I was very impressed with the varieties of sound that are available with this versatile little unit. I would recomment this amp to any player looking for that big stack sound with a small footprint. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BLASCSTAR HT 40 Well made and smartly designed N/A Too new to tell, Just a couple of gigs so far with no problems at all.

Very solid. Great cleans as well as overdrive. Just got it. Your general opinion of this product. I heard good things about this amp although I was not able to try one in person. I checked out all the YouTube videos and also got a strong recommendation from a trusted advisor. I was all set to pull the trigger on this but I remembered that years ago I purchased a Dent and Scratch deluxe reverb from AMS, so I decided to save some $$$ and try it again on the club 40. Well, it showed up in 2 days. I love everything about the amp, and I have gone over it from top to bottom and cant find a mark anywhere on it. The only clue was the shipping box was obviously re-sealed. Oh and I love the sound of this thing, perfect for my style of music (classic rock).

Solid, good looking, hits the ground cranking ! Nothing like real tubes period ! beautiful variations on the clean channel with the two separate voicings, and the crunchy to overdrive is amazing ! between the EQ and ISP function, You can acheive shimmer / blues / Screaming lead guitar, and everything inbetween. Just had it about a month, but have been putting alot of hours on it, I can't stop playing throught it ! Just sounds better and better. Your general opinion of this product. Looks very cool, well built, everything You could want from a combo !

A-1 EVERY THING I USE. CRYSTAL CLEAN CORDS AND FUNKY RYTHUMS TO GRITTY OVERDRIVE AND KILLER DISTORTION. AND MY GOD A TIGHT BOTTOM END. TIME WILL TELL ON THAT. BUILT LIKE A TANK THOUGH. Your general opinion of this product. I CAN'T BELIEVE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS I HAVE FOUND A 1X12 AMP THAT FILLS THE BILL IN SO MANY WAYS. SOUND, SIZE, WEIGHT AND PRICE. SEE ABOVE. ONE OF THE BEST QUALITY LOOKING AMPS ON THE MARKET.

Double WOW!

By: Tele335 from Midland, MI      Submitted: 9/22/2010

Built like a tank. Heavy and solid. Tone is great and flexable. The ISF switch actually works. Sweep it left and you have a Mesa type sound. Turn right and has a British flavor. I set mine in the middle, a nice blend of both but the sound options are really endless. So far so good. The pedal went out on me, unplugged it and plugged it in again no problem. Will see if this presents a problem. Your general opinion of this product. An unbelievable amp for the money. Great clean channel but the over drive in awesome. Tight, articulate and ballsy. Not sure I need my OD pedal. 40 Watts of tube power, dime the gain and turn it up to 4 and your fillings will rattle. Great tone, again, your options here for both clean and OD are endless. Outstanding. The fit and finish is tight. Blackstars cosmetics on the HT series is really great. Top notch. I let it warm up for an hour (new tubes) and it sounded great. A few days later with heavy play time and its getting better as the tubes burn in.
