I went in to buying the speaker thinking I needed some smaller speakers for small parties that are DJ. What I got was an amazing looking speaker with great sound, very easy to operate, very sturdy! I recommend this speaker for DJs that are just starting out, or DJs who do a lot of smaller parties. The speakers really feel a room.

After using passive PA speakers for what seems like an eternity, I decided to make the move to powered speakers. I had previous experience with Mackie powered speakers before. So when I decided to look for my own powered speakers, I started with Mackie and I’m glad I did. The speakers have serious punch and clarity. I used to use column speakers with 2-15” speakers and a horn and those were not as clear as these speakers. Another advantage of getting these new speakers is that they are relatively light weight and will not kill your back moving them. Do yourself a favor and check these speakers!

I’m glad they gave these more midrange power and highs. I was skeptical of just preset buttons no more eq knobs. But the chips in these do it right. I like the sub setting when your cranking it up and let the subs do the heavy lifting. Much lighter then previous models .

I had a decent experience with this company with being a 1st time customer. I ended up canceling my order for a product that was back ordered but the way they went about it was very poor. Was not going to go back to this company. So I tried something smaller and lesser cost and experience was about about 7 out of 10 but the delivery aspect part was poor it got left out in the rain but it was some what protected. My overall experience I will give it a 6 as some people I spoke with was good but very rough start. I will really have to think about telling my other Dj partners about this company.

Used them separately, together, and with a Thump sub. In every application, they far exceeded my expectations. I play piano and left hand bass. Even one on its own handles the low end very well; something I always felt was lacking in other 15” enclosures I had. With the cases, they’ll be looking new for years to come!

We use these for our little musical dog and pony show... we bundle them with some small front loaded 12 inch subs that give a nice little push of low end without overwhelming the overall mix. If you need a quick full body sound and just wanted to take these tops to a show you’d be very surprised at the low end these speakers put out for any mid size venue. They’re crisp and clean at not very heavy to lug around from gig to gig. Getting a couple more to have for a second set up. Kudos Mackie!

I spent a good little bit of time trying to figure out what PA speakers I wanted to go with. I've had experience with several different manufactures over the years and actually had some old Thumps before. So here is what I like...
These things get loud and won't hardly clip. That's a good thing when you're trying to just put out a lot of noise. The construction seems pretty well made even though it's plastic and they are fairly light weight for being 15's. The DSP selection does make a difference on sound and worked great when I hooked them up to two bottom subs and just used the high pass or (sub) setting.
They do lack in midrange clarity to me. I'm an audiophile so I may be judging a little harshly considering the price point, but the sound didn't "wow" me. The lows are very interesting with the dynamic bass eq. You get the hit but you don't get the rumble with the lows, if that makes any sense. It sounds nice and tight, but I would rather a little more rumble.
Could you do better for the price?... that's debatable. If you spend an extra $100 a speaker you could go up to a competitor and probably feel a little better about your decision. If these were stretching your budget already then they are not a bad decision by no means. I am happy with them as they do get the job done. But.. if you are picky about your audio and clarity you might want to spend a little more.

This speaker is awesome! It's loud, great sound clarity, and delivers nice chest thumping bass. I used one speaker to provide music to a small party and filled a 100'x50' building quite well with sound, you could also feel the bass outside the building. I would definitely recommend.

So happy with my Mackie Thumps. Had been running Alto 15" active speakers for a while but they were fading fast. The payment option with AMS made getting these possible and shipped quickly. Was looking for a better set of speakers at a reasonable price when I came across these. They were honestly way better than I expected. The quality and sound is perfect for what I need. These have helped me start off my DJ career. I’ve done small to medium venues and these speakers have been amazing. With both of these speakers being used, I don’t see a need a for a subwoofer just yet but I do plan on getting the subwoofer to add a bit more thump for the dance floor. If you are looking for amazing speakers for half the price, these are it. You can thank me later.

In comparison to other power PA speakers, these sound amazing. Once you find the sweet spot to place them in, a corner works awesome, and some distance from the crowd. Then pair them with a great subwoofer, and you would think you had studio monitors playing. Great bass response and the highs are clear. Make sure to break them in slow, as they stretch, the bass really starts to become pronounced.

Hey if you’re reading this and looking for some awesome loudspeakers with good quality the Mackie Thump 15A 1300 watts”, the way to go. With it’s amazing 15” subwoofer that gives great bass and it’s 1.4 titanium dome compression driver that’s gives it crystal clear high frequency. It’s very well make and sturdy, with many features such as buil-in 2 channel mixer, speaker mode, mix out, and many more all powered by 1300 watts. First the not so good. I am not sold on the push button eq on the back of the speaker. Wish I could eq the speaker with knobs. The goods now. They sound really good once I used my rack eq. I have four of these speakers that I bought for monitors. They sound really good, and I can get some good thump for the drummer's monitor. Vocals are clear and warm. This last weekend I decided to use two of the 15" for FOH with my SRM1805 subs. They did a nice job for this venue. I also have a pair of SRM750's, but wanted to test the Thump 15's. I am thinking of buying the Thump 12's for small gigs and keep all the 15" on stage for monitors. I am happy with my purchase and so is the band. Sure, there are much better speakers, just as there are much better bands, but they work fine for my needs and for my pocket book.

I bought these a few months ago and I couldn’t be more pleased with them. The bass is deep, clear and overall they sound great. Sturdy design makes them light and durable. I’m no DJ BUT I am a ferocious listener of music and I can tell you, I put these speaker through the riggers when I play them.
If fact, this is my second pair. Lol. A cousin of mine loved my first pair so much, when I got into a financial pinch, I sold them to him and he refused to sell em back! Instead he helped get the pair I have now. True story.
Are these the best? I dont know. Can you find better? Probably. For the money, I love these.

Had these a few weeks, plenty of gain, quality of build seems good, adjustments are simple. At decent volume very minimal noise, low end was surprising.
Very happy with these, replaced very old peavy passive and we feel we made a good choice, after a few practices we are still shocked at the clarity and punch they have. Love Mackie.

Mackie put great effort into this amazing speaker! With my 4 Mackie Thumps, I can def play any bar or wedding. Portable,easy to set up and very easy on the eyes! Tested at 80% power in my home for 3hrs..rap,rock and country pounded the Thumps. On their side as a monitor, on stands and as mains..I pushed them hard. 5 stars Mackie!!! I’ve read and watched hundreds of reviews, pros and cons, and likes/dislikes of these Mackie Thumps. Needless to say I ordered a pair. Crystal clear highs serious thump and the mids are better than a lot have said. Running my sound through a Samson mixer for fine tuning. The sound and headroom are AWESOME!! Once I sell some of my other equipment I’m thinking another pair of Thumps and a sub or two!! Now for “AMS”!! UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE!!! Ordered on Friday and received them on Monday! You guys ROCK!!! I would say these speakers are ok. They are not as responsive as I thought. The bass sounds excellent. But thy have a built in mixers and I’ve noticed listening to some things it’s not mixed as should be. There definitely a light weight speaker. I’ve had many other powered monitors and liked others more.

I been loving these Mackie 15A 1300 watts. I recommend every dj and church to get these. I played them to the max and they gave me what I was looking for. Power, nice vocal hids, and pure quality sound. They are easy to move around with. I just love them. Big thumbs up.

I was looking for a good, robust, reliable and versatile stage monitor. After researching multiple manufacturers, brands and models, I became sold on this after using one belonging to a band mate. The sound quality and clarity was out of this world even as a stage monitor with a booming front end and inside a small venue. Rugged construction, floor or stand mounted, monitor or main, this is by far the best I’ve experienced!

I have a pair of the original Thump 1000 watt active loud speakers and have been impressed with them since I got them. The bass is truly awesome. These new 1200 watt Mackie Thumps run circles around them. The controls on the back of the speaker have been updated with Line/Mic/Gain options allowing the sub to do the heavy lifting for the bottom sounds. I have fallen in love with these as well.

I have owned several other brands, however Mackie has been my best choice. Sceptical at first of the low price, being owner of both versions of SRM450's. Legend is, you get what you pay for. Not in the case of the Thump. Sound is clean, with real power, EQ's are superb, versatility is easy. Mackie is known for strong parts, they did not falter in this model. Certainly well made, great for mobile DJ's, bands, or whatever desired sound use. Great for pole mounting or floor monitor setup. As one who has used Mackie 20 years plus, I highly recommend for those on or not on a budget. A surefire winner.

I purchase my speakers 8months ago everything sound good did a couple of party and in the middle of the last party the speaker just shut off and wouldn't come back on try them the next day they worked only for a couple of hour and the same thing accurred i dont think they can hold power for a long time sound good but i was embarrassed.

I chose this set for mostly outdoor use and the occasional overkill for house parties.
I've done 3 events outdoors (accompanied by the matching 18" sub) and the music kept 400+ entertained and music was clear and bass was felt.
Simple to set up if you have minimal PA set up knowledge.
If you're looking for great sound this set us not it. If you're looking for good sound at a very reasonable price, this set is worth every penny.

My new mackie speaker is easy to set up. Just plug and play. But I also love the low end this speaker carries. I use my mackie as my monitor for keys. And it sounds great. This speaker is also able to hold its end even at higher peaks. Great product.

I Have used peavey in the past but these Mackie 15 pack a serious punch. Mackie has designed this with the mobile Dj in mind. I used them for the first time and they handled all I had and wanted more. For the price the Mackie Thump series is just that Thumping bass and great al around sound is great. I recently purchased a pair of these. I was amazed at the bass response. These speakers do more than think, they jump and get the job down. The clarity in the highs are also amazing. I did extensive research on powered speakers before picking up a set of these Thump15's. I found a woefully inadequate amount of info on the generations of Thumps that just came out, so I felt obligated to get a solid review out there. I've had these speakers for about 2 months now. In that time I have used them to DJ a mid-size wedding, and do fully mic'ed live sound for 12 bands at a music festival. I think I've put them through their paces enough to have some initial thoughts to share.
The Mackie Thump 15 is a 1300W speaker - that's peak, not program. That said, the built in limiters let you really push these things, and I can tell you that in a shootout they outperformed a set of 700W program 2x15 passive mains that I put them up against. So this is one big change from the previous generation, rated at 1000W peak. You can absolutely run sound for a band with mic'ed drums and amps, or DJ a small-midsize wedding, with just two of these 15's set up as mains.
Compared to prior generations of Thumps, Mackie has also changed the inputs and EQ settings. Each main has two input channels that are dual 1/4" or XLR (combo jacks, doesn't take up much space and looks very clean/simple). They have separate volume controls to mix to taste and a master control as well. There is also a pass thru to daisy out your signal to the next speaker or to a sub. There are no EQ knobs, just presets for live sound/recorded music/monitor/hi-pass for when paired with a subwoofer. Note sub takes all the bass out, leaving that for a sub to fill in, it doesn't turn your Thump15 into a sub. More on EQ later.

I use these Mackie Thump 15's with a Mackie Thump 18" subwoofer to host karaoke parties and the occasional friends wedding receptions and at EVERY showing everybody comments on how great the sound is. AND I HAPPEN TO AGREE! I started singing karaoke at the bars in KC and that company only used Mackie Thumps. I got spoiled, and when I moved to TN I couldn't enjoy the nights because I hated the sound. To cure that I bought my own a couple years ago from American Musical, and I've NEVER been disapointed!

These definitely complement most any live sound or DJ setup very well. The woofer produces an impressive amount of low end and mids without getting sloppy, and the horns are very articulate in producing the crisp highs. These things kick!! I mean kick! The only tiny drawback is the pre-programmed EQ. It is definitely NOT a hinderance and with my setup it works perfectly. I would add 4 more stars if I could. I belong to a DJ group and everyone have a variety of brands that they use, after a lot of research and hearing brands in various situations and venues (small house parties to large gymnasiums) these were the perfect choice.

These Mackies are great. Let me elaborate: When I first received them, I put them through the paces. 8 hours solid with all kinds of music. Volume varying between genres. I figured if they are going to crap out, this would do it. These things are solid. Great bass, and have used them as mains for band practice. I am running these with K8's (delayed) and they really overpower them. They are loud and clear. They do have an eq section on the back, but for a flat response you will need a mixer (or a separate eq). Are they QSC K12.2's? No. But for the price, I can buy 2 sets and be really, really happy (and 128 db's at 1 meter is nothing to sneeze at either). 2 things to keep in mind. These don't have Bluetooth, which if you are running these professionally you would never depend on BT over a cable anyway; and the power cord is a bit short. AMS is the only company I deal with (and have for the last 5 years). Their payment plans are awesome and everyone at the company has always been great!!

As a full time musician for almost two decades and someone who does over 200 shows a years, from full band to acoustic shows...I’ve seen and tried just about everything out there. I can honestly say that I wasn’t expecting as much value and quality at this price point from these. I couldn’t have been more wrong. These speakers are an exceptional value on all levels.
The clarity and frequency is extremely good. The bass these produce from a non wood enclosure is beyond impressive and the ease of use, both by themselves and paired with other speakers is fantastic. Add in the value of a two way 15 “ unit that’s lightweight as well... this speaker beats everything offered at this price point on the same platform!
I own some very high end gear for my full PA and while I purchased these primarily for acoustic shows, these things are stellar as center fills for my main PA as well. Some companies miss the mark when going for a cost affordable, synthetic enclosure speaker... Mackie nailed it!

This product is exactly what I needed. I do a lot of playing and it's powerful enough for the spaces that I typical play in. It's very versatile for the weight making it easy to transport and also the amount of watts that it is. I prefer carrying these 40 pound speakers that's 1300 watts a piece over a 64 pound roland kc 550 that's only 150 watts.

Waited a long time, and did as much research as possible, and I am glad I did. For the money you cannot beat this powered speaker. The sound carries clear, and loud even in an open area, and had no clipping issues at all for our live performance. was able to handle all of our instruments clear, and fine through our mixer, and keep sound levels at a good decibel level, we actually had to turn down a bit since they were pretty loud. They are much lighter than I expected, and I just had to buy the bags that they recommended for them to keep them safe, still wary of the plastic shell, but hopefully the bags will keep them nice and safe.

My band and I decided it was time to upgrade our PA system since our old one was falling apart and just couldn’t keep up in bigger gigs. We did a ton of research and decided to pick up a pair of these Mackie Thumps and a mixer. As soon as we hooked these up and started cranking it, our collective jaws dropped! 1300 watts of crystal clear highs and mids and a massive yet smooth bass response. First we plugged in a phone and started going through our favorite songs we wanted to hear. These speakers gave a new level of clarity and definition to old songs that we never knew was even there! Next, plugged it in to our mixer and hooked up a couple mics and turned on the full band backline (100 watt tube guitar stacks, bass stack, 8 piece drum kit,etc). We cranked our amps up and the PA didn’t even break a sweat. You could hear all of our vocals soaring above the amp/drum mix no problem. This was by far the best investment we’ve made as a band. Thank you AMS!!!

I owned 2 JBL G2 EONs prior to this and they were only 800 WATTS and when I used these at the Concrete, WA 37th Annual Fly-in, they could hear me and the music across the flight line (runway) and to either side about 100 yards in three directions. WONDERFUL SOUND, love the button to switch to the type of sound you want and the weight, OMG, the weight! So much lighter than the JBLs used to be. Couldn't be happier. WAIT, did I mention the damn BASS? THUMP, THUMP, THUMP!

Having been in the FOH business for over 30 years, I can testify these speakers go far beyond what I thought they would. I have been able to carry an 800 seat room with 2 of these and 4 of the 18s Thump Subs.

I love the new look from the older model. The paint job is solid and not easily to scratch. The new features with the equalizer and the XLR connection make it more versatile to use. The unit is self can with stand a good 1500 watt of power. And most of all the sound quality is awesome!!! Great buy. I love Mackie

I hooked it up to the Mackie 12 channell mixer and the only thing I can say is WOW. It has far out done what I thought. Can't wait till my next wedding or dance gonna turn up the MUSIC!!!!

These are great for the price. On lower volumes, the bass leaves a bit to be desired, but once cranked up they hit nicely. I stand by Mackie products all the way.

Great set of speakers! I was able to consolidate down my equipment with the purchase of these Thumps. I use these in the office & compared to the PA system I was using... lets just say what took me so long to pirchase these Mackie Thump 15’s! Everyone noticed the BIG difference!

Been old school amp and passive speakers for years. This is the first pair of powered mains I've ever purchased and used and they sound great and powerful and handle outside gigs very well also..Very impressed!. Faster set up time ad weigh much less than my passive speaker cabinets..

I have a pair of the older thumps. Love them, but they would clip early. Bought these, my first gig was a full band. No clipping. Amazing sound! Crisp highs and punchy lows. Love them.

Lest equipment to pack, same results! On 2 occasions, I only added 4 microphones with a 1/8 inch connectir to the speaker and no one was the wiser. 1 gig I used my laptop and the other androids and IPhones.

Ten times better than any powered speaker. two times better than over rated QSC k2 2000 watt,kicks as hard as any 18 sub, never been any speaker on a stand better, I've owned all older models, how can they do this? Sounds like a sub incredible,, awesome, Mackie wrote the book on powered speakers, trust me ,we have the hottest band in Roanoke,thanks Founder Bob Mackie they are representing a good tribute to you my friend.better than, JBL,Ev, QSC, don't waist your money on others,, trust us the Phat Boyz Band Roanoke VA.
