Great beginner guitar
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I was actually pleased with the quality for a low end guitar. This is why I picked this guitar instead of an Epiphone, OLP, or Squier guitars. My son can grow into this guitar by upgrading the pickups, tuners, and nut. Those other guitars couldn't compare quality wise. It did need a neck adjustment but I don't think my son would have known the difference if I didn't show him.
|
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
He has had the guitar for six months and loves it. I haven't had to adjust anything other than the original setup. Since he's 9 and doesn't take care of the guitar as I wish he would it's still solid as a rock.

Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I brought this guitar for my 9 year old son. He started getting interested in guitar after seeing me play gigs for years. I have a Gibson Les Paul Classic and he loved the shape and color so I wanted to get him something to start off with that appeals to him. Perfect! This guitar is made out of basswood (bass as in fish not bass guitar) so if he takes to the guitar I can upgrade the pickups and nut later and will make the guitar scream.

Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Great feel and great neck. Very fast. Typical ESP/LTD neck.
|
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The acoustic sound is great...plenty of sustain and mids for that phat sound. The pickups are not the best. If you want a cheap guitar that sounds like a top end then change out the pups for some Seymour Duncans (JB/59 - IMO)
|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish was top notch for the price. The frets and hardware were installed without any problems to the finish.
|
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Out of the box it needed a neck and intonation adjustment but I don't think a beginner guitarist would have notice. Again this is a great guitar for the price. A great guitar for any beginner or part timer (no matter the age).
