Microphone Cables

Microphone cables-like microphones-come in two flavors: Hi-Z and Low-Z. The "Z" stands for impedance, and using the right impedance level is critical for getting the best sound. Most microphone cables feature an XLR Female connector on the mic end. The other end will be either an XLR Male connector (Low-Z) or a 1/4" phone plug (Hi-Z).
