The new Ibanez S5470 Prestige Electric Guitar is the guitar that, in the future, all metal-minded axes will be judged against.
24 frets of slippery fast neck, new tonal possibilities and a new, revolutionary tremolo make this new, Japan-made Ultimate S the sign of great things to come.
The new ZR-2 features the new snap in arm socket, that ensures the arm goes in properly and is easy to remove. The Zero Point System keeps evolving. The new ZPS3 is made of Duralumin, which drastically reduces its weight as well as the size of the cavity on the body back..Switcheable to floating setup, of course.
Just unscrew the built-in intonation adjustment tool from the base and screw it into the bottom of each saddle for quick adjustments. U.S.PAT No.6,867,354. Arm torque is easily tightened or loosened by turning the arm-holder adjustment screw. No matter what the setting, the arm always feels secure.
The new Hot Grinder pickups are specially designed for the new S Prestige output extra volume, yet sharpness is not sacrificed. The Short Tracer pickup with strong magnet enables low-profile setting in the middle pickup position, for shredding picking.
With the very simple design, the new Ibanez Top-Lok no longer requires the retainer bar to maintain string tension. The Metal injection molding process has made all the edges smooth so your hands aren't scratched.

| Highest quality imaginable. Perfect fit and finish. I have seen some really dodgy things come from Gibson at four times the price. Ibanez is amazing. Their $200 guitar are just as well made as their $200 in the quality department. | | Sound:

| This is an outstanding instrument worth twice the price. I've owned well over one hundred guitars over the years and Ibanez has become my favorite brand. The only guitar that I've ever played that was close to this one was a Jackson Soloist and it just wasn't as nice, even at a MUCH higher price point. Ibanez seems to always deliver in the "bang for the buck" category. Today I'm taking delivery of a $400 Ibanez and I am sure that it will also be an awesome instrument. | | Playability and Feel:
| Light as feather and thin as a rail. I really thought that it would take some time to adjust to playing such a thin guitar, but it was amazingly comfortable the minute I picked it up. I purchased this guitar at about the same time as my new Charvel SoCal and I have to say that the feel and playability of the Ibanez put the Charvel to shame - and I LOVE Charvel! | | Tone:

| It's definitely one of the best guitars I've played. It's hard to find something negative about it. The tremolo doesn't quite stay totally in tune though. But I asked my guitar tech and he said that after a good setup it should be fine. It really is a great tremolo though. The instruction manual is also very nice.
