| Quality:
| Aside from the plastic fittings its seems like a good, solid kit. I like that its expandable as well as serviceable; doesn't seem like just some throw away item. |
| Ease of Use:
| Setting up the tree was the hardest part, then adjusting everything to "taste" as far as positioning. Once that's done you're golden. For anyone with experience in digital rack units the DM5 is standard fare and relatively simple to get into for newcomers, I would think. |
| Sound:
| I was actually surprised at the sound quality on this thing. Not all of the 500+ samples are going to be useful for everyone and they are a little lacking in a few places (especially cymbals) but overall it sounds... like a drum kit. You just need to remember it needs to be hooked up to a "full range" amplification system of some sort, not a guitar amp, or it will sound like junk. |
| Value:
| For the price I don't think you can get better. I like the replaceable heads on ALL the pads and that the kick is enough to field two beaters -- other sets seem to like using either special kick triggers or small, irreplaceable pads. The stock setup also leaves a few trigger slots on the DM5 open, so you have some room to expand. |
| Durability:
| I wish the fastenings weren't plastic but the whole setup seems relatively sable for now. I've been beating the snot out of it for a couple days and it hasn't fallen over, yet. |

| Ease of Use:
| This kit is very easy and fun to play on. Th drum module is easy to use, I was able to use it without even looking in the manuel. The rebound is very realistic. It doesn't completely replicate the rebound of an acoustic kit.
The drum module also doesn't support dual or, 3 zone pads. You will need to get a splitter to accommodate that. this also means a dual zone pad takes up 2 inputs instead of just 1. |
| Sound:
| The sound is very good. There are times when you can tell that with a soft hit, the volume of the sound is just lowered. The pads are very loud but the cymbals are very quiet. Upgrade to mesh heads or get mute pads if you live in an apartment. |
| Value:
| I have played on many types of Roland, Yamaha, and pintech drum sets (None of which I have ever owned). THe Alesis DM5 Pro kit doesn't come close to matching the capabilities of a Roland or even a Yamaha kit, but the Alesis is in its own catagory. This kit is the best in its class. In my opinion, this kit is better than the Roland TD-3 and rivals the TD-4 |
| Durability:
| I really haven't had it long enough to mention any durability issues if any. |

| Quality:
| This set is heavy duty and well made. Was a bit time consuming to put together but was well worth it! The rack is very sturdy with very little vibration or movement. |
| Features:
| I love the drum module...took a while for a fairly new drummer like me, mainly because there are so many features, but with a little playing around it's pretty easy. |
| Sound:
| Very rich, my previous set had a very "tinny" sound, but the DM5Pro has alot of depth. |
| Overall:
| Totally Awesome, right out of the box |
| Value:
| Completely satisfied, think I got more drum for the buck. Being able to make 3 payments made AMS top the charts. |
| Appearance:
| The black and white scheme looks as good as they sound. |

| Quality:
| This set is high quality. It is very sturdy and durable. I have two kids banging on it and I can play it without having to take it easy on it. I think it is going to last a long time. |
| Features:
| I like the fact that it uses real drum heads. If they get damaged thay can be easily replaced. It is easy to program the volume of each drum and cymbal independently. |
| Sound:
| The sounds are awesome and very accurate. |
| Overall:
| I really like this product. I was a bit hesitant about buying it because of not knowing if it would be worth it but I can't pass by it without playing it. It really is fun!! My son just joined a band and their drummer loves it too!! |
