QUALITY: The hardware is reasonably well built and went togeather easily. Product was boxed great, very well protected.
FEATURES: The rack is great. I'm a tall guy and it readily adjusts to my needs as well as the 'average' size guys. Mesh heads on it from the factory would be the only 'out of the box' embellishment.
EASE OF USE: I'm a guitarist, not really a drummer, and I figured out hot to make it run and change drums, save, and midi it up, all without the manual.
VALUE: Bought it so I could improve my drum abilities without spending a fortune and pi$$in@ off my neighbors. LOTS OF BANG FOR YOUR DOLLAR!!! 3 different drummers have stopped by and we've jammed through a board and headphone set-up. Everyone loved the kit.
SOUND: You can re arrange the factory sets to your liking, OR use it to control litterally THOUSANDS of computer based kits and noises.

QUALITY: 4.5 It is alot nicer than most electronic kits I have ever played. Played, others like rolands kits, yamaha kits, pintech, and homemade electronic kits.
FEATURES: 4.5 The pads and the rack are very durable.
EASE OF USE: 4 Because setup took awhile although this product is very easy to use. Took only a minute to learn, owned a D4 for 5 yrs.
VALUE: 5 It was worth every penny.
SOUND: 4.5 The product can be pretty real sounding especially with backing tracks or in a live setting i do not think that most people could tell the difference.

QUALITY: Seems fairly sturdy. Not sure about the cymbals seem kind of cheap. Would be nice if hardware used wing nuts instead of lugs on everything.
FEATURES: Real heads for under $600! Wide range of sounds. Would like to find out where to get replacement parts or more clamps and pads. Nothing in the owners manual for buying more parts or pads?!
EASE OF USE: Straight forward setup. Used right out of box, but later changed to suit my taste.
VALUE: Real heads for under $600!!
SOUND: Some pretty good sounds, but some really crappy ones that you would probably never use.

| I am a very heavy hitter, and this kit has taken it all! The guy on here saying that this kit failed must have been using sledge hammers for drumsticks. I've had mine for over a year, not a single issue. I did upgrade the trigger cables though. I have even used it on live gigs and it played perfectly.I have also purchased accoustic drum triggers for my Pearl Export drum kit and I now use the DM5 module for many live gigs. | | Features:
| Has all the features of the more expesive kits, except the toms, snare and cymbals are all one voiced triggers. | | Sound:

| | | Subject: | Bought it, returned it | | Quality:
| The brain seems as dependable as any of the other brands, but the cymbal modules are definitely fragile. I played the kit for less than an hour before the high hat module failed. I replaced it with one I was using as a cymbal and it failed the following day. I play aggressively, but not overly so. I definitely wasn't bashing the crap out of it. | | Features:
| The brain is the best feature of the set. It is the one part of the set that is actually worth the money. The stock sounds programmed by the factory were average at best, but with a fair amount of tweeking I was able to get some usable sounds from it. The controls are very user friendly and it only took about 10 minutes to get the hang of it. I don't recommend buying this as a kit, but the brain is available to purchase by itself, and isn't a abd investment if you just want to mix a few electronic pads into your acoustic set and purchase them separately as well. | | Sound:
| As I said, the sound is usable (not award winning by any means) once you've done some tweeking. It will never sound completely like a true acoustic set, especially the faster you play it. I bought it for silent recording (for demos, not stuff for the public) and it worked weel enough soundwise for that. The sound sensitivity from the rim to the center of the drumhead was a bit overcompensated for, but it's easy with electronic drums to re-track any missed or off-center hits, so not a big deal. | | Overall:
| You get what you pay for, my lesson has been learned. It seems to me that all the money went into the brain, and the rest of the set was made as cheaply as possible. This would be a great investment for a 10 year old kid living in an apartment, or a DJ looking to add some beats to the mix. REAL drummers beware. | | Value:
| No, it doesn't matter how good it sounds if it's broken. On the plus side, though, I've never experienced any problems returning an item to AMS. They definitely seem to want the customer to be happy, and their customer service is top-notch. They keep a bad product experience from tail-spinning into a bad overall experience. Plus they do that in a few minutes rather than taking up an hour of your time. | | Appearance:
| It's pretty enough I guess. I liked the fact they used white for the drumheads. |
