Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom Electric Guitar Features
  • Genuine Mahogany body with bound, carved Maple top
  • Mahogany neck with comfortable, slim neck profile
  • Bound Baked Maple fingerboard with acrylic white block inlays
  • Gibson '57 Classic in the neck and a slightly hotter '57 Classic Plus in the bridge
  • Grover Keystone tuners with 14:1 tuning ratio
Body
As with the best Gibson Les Pauls crafted since the early '50s, the Les Paul Classic Custom starts with the legendary tonewood pairing of a solid carved maple top glued to a mahogany body, strategically chambered to enhance resonance and reduce weight. Marrying maple's clarity and definition to mahogany's richness and depth produces a tonal complexity that no single-wood guitar has ever matched.

Neck
This guitar’s resonance and sustain are only further enhanced by the deep-set quarter-sawn mahogany neck with 17-degree back-angled headstock. Optimum playability is ensured by a slim, comfortable neck profile that measures .800 inches at the 1st fret and .875 inches at the 12th.

Fingerboard
The Les Paul Classic Custom’s 22-fret fingerboard is made from Baked Maple, a heat-treated hardwood that offers a clear tone and extreme durability, and inlaid with acrylic block markers, enhanced by a mother of pearl Gibson headstock logo and acrylic split-diamond inlay.

Pickups
To ensure that this guitar has the purest, richest tone possible, Gibson loads the Les Paul Classic Custom with a pair of '57 Classic humbucking pickups. Made with genuine Alnico II magnets and wound with enamel-coated 42-AWG wire just like the hallowed PAF pickups of the late 1950s and early '60s, the '57 Classics yield creamy warm tones in the neck position and plenty of growl and snarl in the bridge, with funky, round tones in between.

Hardware
A pairing of Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece ensure solid sustain and accurate intonation, while a set of premium Grover kidney-button tuners make tune-up a breeze.

Les Paul Custom History
When guitarist and inventor Les Paul conceived the Custom model in the mid-1950s, he envisioned it as a ‘black tie’ guitar suitable for the most elegant occasions. In the years since then, the Les Paul Custom has come to represent all of that and more. The most dressed-up of the Les Paul production line, the Custom is nevertheless a full-bore rocker, suitable for the heaviest riffs you want to throw at it, while still excelling on the blues, jazz, pop or fusion stage.

Your "Go-To" Les Paul
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Yes, Gibson's been making this model for over 50 years and this one shows it. The Les Paul Classic I take on shows is battle scarred but still brings the tone. This one is still in the case most of the time!
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
This guitar is built to the hilt.......I'm sure it will out live me.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This is the top playing Paul I've owned and a beautiful work of art as well.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Yes, there is a weight to it-get a wide strap and STRAPLOCKS-I can't stress that enough. Neck is super! I much prefer this to the 50's chunky style that slows me down. I get fat, rich, thick tone off this goldtop.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Classic '57 pickups are rockin'-they are a great match for this guitar.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Impeccable!
Action
How was the action out of the box?
I didn't fiddle with the action like I usually need to-it was great for me right out of the box-but everyone's different and as you would expect 5 min. with a truss rod tool (oddly missing from the case when I bought it) and tweaking the height of the bridge can change all the action you want to change.
SEVEN from nowhere

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Excellent right out of the box, really im not sure why anyone would want any thing else.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Its only 30 days old but gibsons age well
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
While not perfect in the finish, this is an amazing guitar for the money, customs are the top of the line and usually in the 4000. range, for this price its amazing ,aside from the gold hardware and some binding its the same for half the price...get or you will be sorry.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Comes from the factory 1/2 the way there for me but a half hour and its perfect....ive played almost everything in my career ,les pauls with 60s necks are great, this one is perfect..i literally drooled on the guitar after setup.plugged it into my 6505+ and drooled all over it.In fact as soon as im done im going to go play some more, totally jonesing right now.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
great gibson roar,im usually a 500t guy ,I like the extra gain but im getting used to theese quickly ,im not going to swap them out like on my other pauls....theese are really nice with the maple neck and chambers, they can totally rock or jazz it up.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
I did find a couple paint problems, minor and I DONT CARE,this one is mine forever and is my new #1,I personally own 2 Vs,1 SG ,and 3 les Pauls (no faded or studios)and this is #1 and like the rest of my gibsons will be passed down to my son, will never sell them...ever
Action
How was the action out of the box?
wonky, neede a setup but once it was setup properly....dreamy.
