Jackson Guitars
A Jackson guitar is meant to be played, and played hard. Each of their endorsers and players choose Jackson because they know Jackson builds their instruments just how they want them. Jackson's instruments are built to handle hard lives on the road, and are ready to take whatever players will throw at them - that's the just the way it is, and Jackson won't have it any other way.

Excellent Guitar!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
With the double locking Floyd Rose, and the neck-thru construction this guitar is sleek looking but built like a tank as well! Pick it up, beat it up, and TRY to knock this thing out of tune, good luck with it! I've used a soloist for over 10 years semi-professionally and have yet to break a string on stage. Can't say that for the other brands I've used over the years.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I have one of these that's over 10 years old and has seen plenty of action but she still plays just as good as she did the first day I used her. The finish has held up, the frets have held up with very minor wear, the pickups and knobs and switches have held up... like I said this thing's a tank!
General
Your general opinion of this product.
This guitar is the one to buy. You can save a few bucks and get something cheaper but you may end up having to tune or replace strings during a set, with this baby you won't. I can keep strings on this thing for months playing every weekend and never have to tune it besides a fine tune here and there... and yes I wear out the Flyd Rose and everything holds EVERY TIME!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The body has a little weight to it but it's neck-thru construction and solid as a rock so it's going to. The ease of fingering on the fretboard makes this thing super fast and smooth to play, and all the controls are just a finger flip away from your picking position.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
These pickups are HOT, great for rock but suitable for other genres as well.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish is always quality on a soloist SL1 and will hold up for years with minimal care.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
For me there's only one word to describe the action on a soloist... PERFECT! It will just about play itself saving you some fatigue on those long gigs.
