Founded in 1999, ADAM Audio's mission has always been to raise the standards in audio reproduction noticeably and audibly. Based on the technology of the ART (Accelerating Ribbon Technology) principle, the tweeter was able to move air 4 times faster than a standard diaphragm tweeter, offering a greater dynamic range. Simply put, More Area = More Dynamics. Designed in Berlin, Germany, the ART technology enabled ADAM Audio to deliver a sonic quality that was both highly defined and authentic in nature. Fast-Forward 15 years later and ADAM Audio monitors are an established favorite with audio engineers and music lovers alike. Paired with the improved X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter, the 'ADAM sound' is on full display when you're working with the award-winning AX-Series. With a fine line of subwoofers that complement the audiophile quality of their monitors, ADAM Audio truly offers a complete monitoring solution for every budget.

History of ADAM Audio

ADAM Audio first started producing incredible professional-grade monitors in 1999 in Berlin, Germany. They took the 1960s invention of the Air Motional Transformer (which was a fancy way for speakers to improve sound quality by moving more air) and took it several steps farther with the invention of the eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology, which they called X-ART.

These innovative X-ART tweeters produce sound with special pleated diaphragms that move air four-times faster than traditional piston tweeters, producing better sound quality and volume. Part of ADAM Audio’s X-ART tweeters was the introduction of rare-earth magnets and higher-strength diaphragm foils that brought new driver geometry to the studio that had never been seen before!

Since the invention of the X-ART tweeter, ADAM Audio has also created the S-ART tweeter for even tighter tolerances, along with HPS and MPS Waveguides for more consistent dispersion and imaging throughout a wider space.

Today, ADAM Audio’s small team of only 60 employees work hard to produce the best studio monitors and subwoofers for audiophiles and professional sound engineers all over the world. They might only be a couple decades old, but with impressive sound quality and incredible features, ADAM Audio monitors are here to stay. Get some for your workspace and hear the difference X-ART can make!
