Bose audio gear | Better sound through research
Since their inception back in 1964, Bose has been dedicated to the pursuit of finding “Better Sound Through Research.” Their incredible lines of portable PA systems, speakers, headphones, and other audio equipment have helped musicians sound their best for decades. If you’re ready to belt it to the back row (and still sound good), you can’t go wrong with high-quality Bose audio gear.
Bose portable line array PA systems
It’s never fun carrying a bunch of gear to and from performances — unless you can find a roadie! For musicians looking for a simple and portable PA solution without sacrificing power or quality, the portable line arrays from Bose audio gear are perhaps the best around.
With just three easy-to-maneuver parts, the Bose L1 Pro8 compact portable powered line array system is ready to rock at a moment’s notice. This compact PA system fits in nearly any space, is super easy to set up, and packs enough punch to make sure you’re heard at your next gig. It’s the perfect solution for singer/songwriters or small bands who don’t want to lug around a lot of equipment.
Need a little more oomph? The Bose L1 Pro16 comes with larger speakers to pump out even more sound. Get up to 1,250 watts to fill your next venue with high-quality Bose audio without lugging around tons of gear. And if you want a major low-end boost to your sound, the Bose L1 Pro32 Sub 2 adds a bigger subwoofer to the already-amazing L1 portable line array system. Enjoy a greater frequency range all the way down to 37 Hz, so your audience can hear every incredible nuance of your playing as you rumble the stage with bass booming sounds.
Bose portable battery-powered loudspeakers
How many power outlets do you need to run your live sound setup? If you use one of the portable battery-powered loudspeakers from Bose audio gear, the answer could be “none!”
The Bose S1 Pro series of battery-powered loudspeakers are a traveling musician’s best friend. Simply charge the battery before your gig, and you can play hours-long shows without needing to find an outlet or untangle all your power cords.
All the loudspeakers in the Bose S1 Pro series project the incredible sound quality Bose is known for in a super-compact and portable design. With inputs for your instrument, microphone, and auxiliary, it’s the perfect simple solution for any gigging musician. Play anywhere and make the world your stage!
Bose powered loudspeakers
If you’d rather build your own rig rather than use an all-in-one solution, don’t skip over Bose’s incredible line of powered loudspeakers. They’re all designed with Bose’s immaculate attention to detail when it comes to audio quality, ensuring you get the best sound every time.
At the heart of the Bose powered loudspeaker lineup is the Bose F1 Model 812. The “F” in F1 stands for “flexible” because it can be used for so many different applications. It’s small enough to fit in most spaces and vehicles for easy setup and portability but loud enough to fill nearly any venue with 1000 watts of power. You can easily adjust the coverage pattern to fit any venue or need.
Fill out your low-end frequency with the Bose F1 powered subwoofer. Adding 1000 watts of power and bringing your frequency all the way down to 35 Hz, this subwoofer is perfect for rounding out your sound and providing that nice stage-rattling bass sound no musician or audience can resist.
History of Bose
In 1956, Amar Gopal Bose earned his PhD in electrical engineering from a little school called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). To celebrate his achievement, the new Dr. Bose bought himself a high-fidelity stereo system. Unfortunately, he wasn’t very happy with the sound quality. Rather than complain about it on the internet (mostly because it hadn’t been invented yet), Dr. Bose began to study acoustics at MIT in his spare time.
After eight years of studying, Dr. Amar Bose founded the Bose Corporation in 1964, with a dedication to find “Better Sound Through Research.” During his regular day job, he worked on government contracts for power-regulating systems. After hours, he and his team explored acoustics to develop a better speaker design.
The first product from the Bose Corporation was a speaker system called the Bose 2201. It was very unusual for the time consisting of 22 speakers — many of which were facing away from the listener. It was designed to sit in the corner of a room and use reflections off the walls to make the room sound larger.
To the dismay of Bose, the 2201 wasn’t much of a hit. But the team did learn a lot about acoustics and speaker design. By 1968, they released the Bose 901 stereo system, which featured eight speakers pointed back toward the wall and a ninth pointed forward to the listeners. This gave the listener more direct mid and high-range frequency sounds, while letting the lower frequencies reverberate around the room.
The Bose 901 was a massive commercial success and helped launch the Bose Corporation to the forefront of acoustic and sound technology! By 1972, Bose was selling speaker systems to a worldwide audience.
In 1986, Bose redefined the audio industry yet again with a prototype of noise-canceling headphones. Although they were an early model, the headphones were already so good that they were used by the pilots on the record-breaking around-the-world Voyager flight!
The dedication to finding better ways to produce sound never stopped as Bose audio gear continued to sit at the top of wishlists for audiophiles, professionals, and musicians alike. Their QuietComfort headphones changed the game for commuters and air travelers around the world, their headphones are the official noise-canceling headphones of the NFL, and their incredible speakers and PA systems rule the musical world.
If you want to hear music the way it’s meant to be heard, trust the incredible audio quality of Bose audio equipment. When they say, “Better Sound Through Research,” they mean it!
